We picked this place due to it being in tge park. The location cannot be beat - we just walked down to the park entrance to take the shuttle for the H route. That is opposite of what tour groups do - so we had the park to ourselves for quite a bit of time before running into groups after the boat ride. When we checked in, the lady at the reception was very nice. One misleading thing about the rooms - the room might say "lakeside" but there is no lake views to be had. This to me is blatant cheating they say "lake side" and there is no lake views. We had reserved a big room and that gave us a lot of space. The furniture was showing its age a bit in few places. And bathrooms were a bit dated but oay attention to the room pictures - it just looks like what they show. I called to check on the room heating system in case it got hold. Couldn't get clear instructions and the thermostat was impossible to understand. One reason we had booked this place was the dinner buffet - make it easier on us. However, both the dinner and breakfast buffet's at this place are sub-standard. And even more for a vegetarian person. At dinner, the person comes to take our drinks order without providing a menu or letting us know that the drinks were not included in half board. We would have still ordered the same drinks but such deceptive practices are not expected from a national patk hotel. In the morning, the juice machine was pouring water in the glass before throwing a dash of color - really - people serve this? No toaster to get any warm toast. And the friendly service at the reception was replaced by grumpy service people. If I were to do another, would definitely explore alternatives.

This is all about location. So easy to get to entrance 2. Try not to eat there as the restaurants are not great. Breakfast is also not very good. WiFi can be spotty. It is more than adequate but remember this is about convenience not luxury

FYI. About what we expected for a national parks hotel. be prepared for it to be kind of spartan and utilitarian, but clean and practical. We expected it, but it kind of feels like a classic dorm room and cafeteria from college. Pros -amazing location right at the park entrance -retro kinda 60s vibe in the lobby and lounge area -cute gift shop Cons -not much vegetarian food for dinner -mad rush for breakfast right when it opens at seven since everybody wanted to get out to the park -what was labeled “hot water” for tea was not yet hot and barely warm right at seven -no tissues -small shower
