Old hotel, needs refurbishment. Small, cramped rooms, poor lighting. Small desk with no direct lighting and no convenient electrical outlet. Unplug a lamp to charge your device. "Whirlpool" has no jets and is lukewarm. Dinner buffet is 30 Euros. Food tastes old and warmed-over. Seafood salad is imitation crab. Lunch menu is small choice of cold sandwiches. Understaffed; hard to get anyone's attention in restaurant or at front desk.

The room was just ok, but it was clean. The breakfast is good. The downfall is the staff not alerting guests that the pool was, is and will be closed for a while. Also, they failed to alert us that the park was hacked and none of the local stores are open. We had to drive into another town, 20 minutes away to purchase items we would have purchased from local markets. Would have been nice to know such things prior to arrival.

Although the location is convenient for visiting Plitvice Lakes, I would not recommend this hotel. We arrived in late May during warm weather to find no air-conditioning in the hotel and our room. Although the evening was cool enough and could have helped to cool our room during the night, there was no screen on the door. So an open door would have let lots of bugs into the room. We actually found the balcony door open when we arrived in our room, along with plenty of flying bugs that had come in through the open door. When we addressed this issue with management the next morning, we were told “we don’t advertise to have air-conditioning”. and the front desk person was fairly rude about the conversation. Every other hotel we stayed in during our travels throughout Croatia had air-conditioning. So I guess it was our fault for assuming a hotel that cost $350 per night for two people would have air-conditioning in the hotel rooms In addition, the hotel is obviously where all the large tour buses stop and it was very crowded. The buffet breakfast room was full of people pushing and shoving to get food from the buffet. Stay somewhere else if you can. There is plenty of parking near the park gates to drive to the park from a hotel that is outside of the park.
