Eden Hotel by Maistra Collection

This is a lovely modern clean hotel; very conveniently situated a short walk along the lovely promenade to the old town. The rooms are sensibly compact, comfortable and modern with a generous size balcony. Bathrooms are modern and work well. The hotel grounds are delightful and the large swimming pool is well provided with sunbeds and large tilting parasols. The hotel is 'on the beach' and the hotel section of the beach is also equipped with plenty of the same type of sunbeds and parasols as the pool. There is evening entertainment but it is not intrusive for those who wish to retire early. It is quiet in the rooms at night with no traffic noise so sleep comes easily. The food in the restaurant is typical hotel buffet style with a huge choice on offer both at breakfast and dinner. Lunch is not served in the main restaurant but there are several snack bars either on the beach or round the pool. The only two annoying things we found that caused us not to give the hotel 5 stars which it really deserves are these: 1) There is no tap water available in the restaurant at dinner time. If you are drinking wine and need water as a thirst quencher the bottled water is nearly the same price as the draught beer that is available which, together with the wine, is not particularly cheap. 2) When we ordered coffee in the reception bar it was small in volume and disappointingly cool and lacking in coffee taste; partly because the milk was not frothed to order but had been frothed earlier. Our 8 euros for two small, cool and rather tasteless coffees was gone in a flash without any enjoyment.

We stayed at the Eden Hotel as a family of 6 late July/early August 2026. 4 adults and 2 teenagers across 3 rooms. We were slightly early for check-in as we arrived at around 10am on the day, but they allowed us to leave our bags so we could have a look around prior to checking in. Check in was good, we managed to get 2 rooms early at around 1pm but the 3rd room wasn't available until 3pm (which is normal check-in time), so we were lucky. We each had a room with balcony overlooking the gardens/pool area which was nice as the other side overlooked the car park, so we were very lucky. We booked for one double and two twin rooms, which were all the same size and very spacious. The location was perfect, with only a short 10 minute walk to the centre of Rovinj which we went to each evening for a meal. The beach was lovely, as was the pool area and surrounding grounds. It borders onto a forest, with some lovely walks. We hired electric bikes one day and rode around the peninsula of the grounds which took us to some really beautiful beaches (all pebble/rock beaches), with clear water and lots of places to sit. The bikes were cheaper to hire just outside the hotel, but we liked the convenience of hiring from the hotel. We only spent one day around the pool, but didn't struggle for a sun bed. The hotel has a policy where if you save a bed using a towel and don't return to the bed within an hour, they remove your towel. Brilliant idea and worked really well. We also spent one day sat near the beach, but on the grassy grounds just above the beach, which was really nice too. There is a bar on the beach and one at the side of the pool, which served drinks, ice cream, coffees and cakes. They also sold baguettes and salads, which were all really good quality, though choice of food was a little limited. Unfortunately the beach area could get very busy, but that's because all beaches in the area are public beaches, so anyone could use them. They also had a hire place for paddle boards and kayaks which was 20 Euros an hour, but was a fun thing to do. Unfortunately, we didn't realise that the pools are salt water, which was a problem for my son and he wouldn't go in the pool, but that was the only downside to this hotel that I could find (and even that wasn't a massive issue). We did a couple of excursions - one for dolphin watching, one for sea fishing, one for kayaking and an island hopping one with cliff jumping. All were great and well organised (arranged via Get Your Guide). But there are plenty of sellers in Rovinj that offer similar excursions. The area is very clean and felt very safe. Lots of restaurants within a short walk into Rovinj centre. The shops are also good, no hassle from any of the owners trying to get you to go in - all felt very relaxed. We had breakfast included in our stay and there was a lot to choose from. Pancake stations, hot breakfasts, cerials, yoghurts, fresh fruits etc as well as assortments of teas and coffee and fruit juices. The bar area inside the hotel also did snacks through the day, toasties, burgers, chips, salad etc. We ate twice for lunch and food was plentiful and good quality. There is also a casual restaurant on site near the beach - which also had evening entertainment - we ate there twice - though I thought the food was much better in Rovinj centre. There was also a spa on site, which had indoor pool (again, salt water), sauna, seating, outside area with sun loungers, and massage/beauty therapists. We had a massage which was lovely. There was also a gym, which we used a couple of mornings and again was nice. We went to the Water Sports Centre which was along the coast and did jet-skiing, which was also a great afternoon. It was 80 Euros for 30 minutes, so not particularly cheap but a great experience. They catered for 16+ We really enjoyed our stay here. It could be as relaxed or as action packed as you wanted, with facilities closeby. It's definitely a place I would recommend and would like to go back to. I was a bit disappointed with the pool being salt water, but it didn't seem to bother anyone else so that's an 'us' problem. The only downside, I felt, was that we weren't provided with information as to where anything was - or about entertainment etc. A welcome pack would have been really useful. But we figured it out.

Really good hotel, with clean rooms: we had the superior double room. The room overlooked the grounds of the hotel, which was good. Breakfast was excellent with so much option, lots of cold and warm items and lots of kind staff to help out. The breakfast can be chaotic with lots of people and sometimes queue. The onsite hotel restaurant, Oleander, was really good food, especially pizzas, with great staff! The hotel offers a gym, indoor pool as well as out which were all relaxing. Outside the hotel, you can also rent kayaks which is good fun. The walk to Old Town Rovinj is 20 minutes, which is nice as it is along the front. I recommend for families!

We received excellent service and friendly advice we had a medical emergency with my husband, staff were professional and kind in helping me etc The Tui rep Nina was amazing in helping us in our situation. The hotel is excellent We didn’t see very much because we couldn’t get out of the hotel due to circumstances but hotel area is lovely 😊⭐ 27/6/26

Most people would definitely enjoy their experience here, it’s the classic humongous resort with all the amenities and the private beach and so on. It is part of a large chain of hotels that took over the Istrian coast around Rovinj (stripping away the natural beauty of the landscape and the breathtaking view of the old town). Even though I would not pick this kind of holiday accomodation myself, I ended up here after a series of circumstances. Either way, what really threw me off was the hotel ‘sustainability policy’. Even though I’m fully aware a hotel stay is never the greener option, just like many other hotels Eden claims they commit to create less waste and less pollution for the environment. In the rooms they display many reminders of their green policies, asking the guests to hang the towels and re-use them during their stay. Nevertheless these get changed every day, implying liters and liters of water, bleach and detergent are being wasted every day (roughly 50 liters every 10 kg). To this add the beach towels the guest can borrow free-of-charge and exchange for new ones every day. I actively requested my towels not being changed until I left them on the floor, and after a day my request was completely ignored. This makes me think the sustainability part is really just a badge to give customers peace of mind while they contribute to more damage to the environment. Sad. Won’t repeat the mistake
