After staying at Hotels Park and Lone, we decided to try Eden, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. From the very first impression, it’s clear that the hotel’s concept is thoughtfully designed, with a strong focus on year-round operations and a diverse range of guests, all while offering excellent value for money. Our stay was very pleasant from start to finish. All staff members we interacted with were friendly, approachable, and professional, which greatly contributed to the overall experience. The food was varied and enjoyable, and the room was modern, comfortable, and inviting. I would especially like to highlight the SPA experience. My partner and I had massages, and my treatment with Tamara was truly outstanding. The massage was exceptional, and Tamara was highly skilled, warm, and professional. The booking process was smooth and easy, and the wellness reception staff were extremely kind and welcoming. Overall, we spent a wonderful weekend at the hotel and left with very positive impressions. Eden offers excellent value for money, a pleasant atmosphere, and genuinely friendly, attentive staff — a hotel we would happily return to.

I arrived at about 1pm to be told to go and find the pool area, towels and beach. The room would be ready at 2pm. I returned to reception and was told the room would not be ready until 3pm. Had I known this, I would have arrived ready to hit the beach; as it was, my suitcase was taken into storage, I had no access to (or offer of) water and I sat on a lounger on the lawn in the shade for two hours. The welcome was not warm and I sat wondering about my holiday choice. For the next week, the warm welcome was never extended; not once did a member of staff smile at me or make me feel welcome. This is not a 4* resort. As others have said, the metal sun ’loungers’ are uncomfortable and hard to come by due to the over crowding from locals and Lone. Once, I found some broken ones behind a shed and made do with one of those. The food was good; nice choice and good temperature however the canteen style of the ‘restaurant’ was functional rather than welcoming. As a solo traveller, I came to expect eating as a functional part of my day as opposed to something to anticipate with enjoyment. My room was comfortable and with a nice view of the forest and pool area. There were children’s discos on some evenings which started and finished at a suitable hour; it was nice to hear families enjoying some fun times. My room (I can’t remember which number) was on an unfortunate ‘bend’ in the hotel infrastructure which meant that the balcony was significantly smaller than that of others. Being a solo traveller who effectively pays more ‘per head’ than couples, these things sting, and happen often. I may take up less space than a couple on a balcony, but I deserve the same space that I am paying for! I like Rovinj; next year I will stay at the Monte Mulini and I hope that the welcome is warmer, the terrace space is fairer, the pool space is private. Not what one should need to ask from a 4* (or 5*, Lone!) hotel. At least my money is staying in the Maistra family… is this the business model?!

Rovinj is a lovely resort with attractive seafront and harbour, plenty of cafes/restaurants and good craft shops. You can walk up to the iconic church (visible for miles around and in all your photos!) and climb the tower up the rickety stairs (!) for a great view from the viewing platform. When we visited on a Sunday an evangelical service was taking place led by a priest with a fine voice. Even in November we were able to take boat trips around the nearby islands and also a ferry boat to the islands with return pick-up later. On Red Island and Katarina you can walk round and stop at the island hotel for refreshment. As there were no coach trips running at the end of season, we took the buses from the bus station to Porec and Pula which were both worth a visit - easy to book online, the machine or bus station office. Pula has a Roman amphitheatre which is interesting to walk inside for a fee. There is also a dotto train that operates like a bus service to the northern part of Rovinj from which you can walk back along the coast or catch a latter dotto, At the souther end of Rovinj you can walk through the coastal woods (starting from the Eden Hotel) where there is a cafe which was not open at the end of season. There is, however, a seafront cafe at the Eden Hotel open to everyone.
