Eden Hotel by Maistra Collection

Very nice hotel set in trees along with other hotels. Pool is in the complex, towels provided. Beach is stony but only a couple of minutes walk away. We were on floor 6, top floor, very quiet. Pillows and beds comfortable. Walk in shower, toiletries provided. Food very well cooked, good variety at breakfast and evening meals. Variety for vegetarians too. Plates were always hot so kept the food warm. Plenty of tables, my only thought would be to have more tables for two people and if needed people could push together if in a group. Didn’t seem to be enough tables for couples. Not sure if evening entertainment, a stage and tables downstairs on ground level but don’t see anything. There was random entertainment down at the à la carte Oleander restaurant. About 25 mins walk to the old town so not far. Plenty of bikes to hire, good walks and rides around the nature park in opposite direction. Reception staff not happy, very abrupt, however all other staff all seem pleasant. Cleaning staff always spoke in the morning. Restaurant staff very efficient in clearing and cleaning the tables however had to wait a while for drink orders.

A few years ago myself and my wife holidayed on St. Katarina Island. As nice as that was, the ferry journey made it a bit inconvenient to visit the mainland and the town of Rovinj. So this time we opted for a land based hotel in the hope we would have easier access to the town and could come and go as we pleased. The Eden hotel surpassed all our expectations. Arriving early in the day meant we were unable to check-in for a few hours. We were made welcome by the reception staff and were able to leave our cases while we walked into Rovinj via the spectacular waterfront promenade. We gained access to our room which had a balcony overlooking the marvellous gardens with the pool in the background. I would suggest booking one of these as you got direct sunshine throughout the afternoon. The room was light and airy and the bathroom had a walk in shower with complimentary toiletries made available together with bathrobes and slippers. Coffees and tea making facilities and a stocked mini bar. We found the restaurant experience exactly as you would imagine any buffet service. Plenty of choice on offer with food being replenished as amounts starter to get low. The choice of options at both dinner and breakfast were many. What really impressed me was the scale and cleanliness of the whole complex and in particular the luscious green lawns. Plenty of room for the countless sunbeds. We only stayed four nights but our experiences during that time have left fond and lasting memories. Would totally recommend this hotel for couple and families of all ages.

We went as a couple early June 2026 for 10 nights with TUI. This hotel is set back a bit on the peninsula and is one of 4 hotels owned by Maistra. Eden was probably the first one with the others going up in price as the views get better. They own lots of others - indeed they seem to own the area. There are no sea views - just the trees - but it's a short walk to the beach. Rooms good and clean despite it being the older of the hotels. I suspect it was refurbished fairly recently. Compared to a previous trip further South in Croatia the staff here are very friendly but be prepared to be addressed in German first before they work out that you're not. (There are plenty of Germans - it's not that long a car trip for them. We had a good laugh with some of them). Breakfast and dinner are buffet style as befits the price point. All good with lots of choice and chance to increase your weight. Some reviews mention queues. OK - there is some queueing at the peak time but not long. After the 6:30 rush not a problem. No queue at the pizza pasta section. No such problems at breakfast although the hot food wasn't that hot. My only criticism is their price point for wine in the restaurant. Average price start point is Euro 40 which is way above the level that it should be. Very few people drank it. We just bought water (Euro 4.90). Wine from the supermarket is cheap and good instead (we were buying French red for Euro 6 per litre). Maistra are missing out on selling better value local wine by the carafe. Small pool bar - good for ice cream and drinks. Lower down is a restaurant for lunch but no snacks. Snacks as such from the beach bar. The "Wellness" suite is excellent and hardly used. Indeed the best fitness and internal pool suite we've used. And there's nobody else in it. Well equipped gym. Extensive "Thermal Zone" - being a big sauna complex (empty of people). The internal pool brilliant. Outside pool area shared with Hotel Lone next door. It got busier once the local schools had broken up and Croatians came for their summer holidays but it was never too busy. Always plenty of sunbeds available even in prime locations. The 2 overlapping pools are excellent and never crowded. You can have as many free towels as you want. A short walk down to the sea reveal more sun loungers. The entire sea front is managed by Maistra and whilst it's open to the public is virtually entirely used by the hotels. Eden guests can use the loungers for free and the sea is good for swimming and safe. With Maistra hotels and restaurants everywhere their free wifi seems to be permanently available - and it works fine even in the town. Nature park left from the beach is a fine walk with further bathing facilities although general public can use it. Walk to the right from the beach goes along the Marina (big private yachts) and subsequently into town. It's quite a walk if you just want a cheap lunch. The town is excellent and vibrant. We hit it when they were having a Salsa festival and there were impromptu dancers on the sea front every night. My wife would only leave if I promised we could come back.

Staff are very friendly cheerful, and all working extremely hard TUI rep was excellent even though we had booked through easy jet that is another story_ thankyou for all your help The swimming pool is in need of a thorough clean sides had green algae on them and spoilt by local children shooting water pistols at guests, how the staff member stayed so calm with them I. do not know No evening entertainment as advertised (one of the main reasons we chose this hotel) Plenty of sunbeds available, grounds immaculate Cooked breakfast was cold though I only had it once couldn't face it again, and as a previous review said we went to dinner at 7.30 only to find a lot of food was all gone,I know it is very difficult to guage but just bringing out fries isn't ideal. Also my husband has a quite severe nut allergy please could this be shown more clearly as the food labels are not very clear this is potentially lethal, most of the deserts had crushed nuts on them or in them Would we come back here, no Rovijn is absolutely beautiful but this hotel needs a bit of a shake up and a bit of tlc

Our last night in this amazing hotel and fabulous Rovinj. The location is first class. We normally like to eat out but opted for half board and not disappointed with the food. Lots of choice and healthy options, fresh salads, fish, meats and pasta and not the same food each night. The old town is magical and a 25 minute walk in. We hired bikes from the hotel which we would definitely recommend and cycled into the National Park next door to the hotel. The staff are all lovely and welcoming and the hotel is exceptionally clean. If you are thinking about booking this hotel you will not be disappointed. We are definitely returning to this hotel and it is rare we say this about hotels we have been to before. Thank you to all the team at the hotel Eden and we will be back!
