My husband and I just spent a wonderful week at the Bel Air Azur Resort in Hurghada, and we are so glad we chose this adults-only oasis for our vacation. If you are looking for a peaceful resort where you can actually hear the waves instead of screaming kids, this place is an absolute hidden gem. Slightly drifting away from the hotel topic for a second, but if you are planning to book any excursions while in Hurghada, I wholeheartedly recommend Sheriff Egypt. You can easily find them online just by searching their name. Their prices are significantly lower than what hotel guides charge, and the quality is top-notch. We booked two trips with them and were blown away: Cairo in a small group (up to 8 people): This was an absolute game-changer compared to the massive crowded buses. We had a private, highly knowledgeable guide who spoke fluent English and made the history come alive. Super Safari: An incredible, adrenaline-filled experience that was well-organized from start to finish. If you want to save money and avoid the chaotic big-group tours, look them up! 📍 Location & Arrival. The hotel is very conveniently located—only about 15 to 20 minutes away from Hurghada International Airport, so we didn’t waste any time getting to the resort after our flight. Check-in at the reception was smooth, and the front desk staff welcomed us with refreshing welcome drinks while handling our passports quickly. 🛏️ Room & Amenities. We stayed in a Sea View Room on the upper floor, and waking up to the panoramic view of the Red Sea every morning was easily one of the highlights of the trip. The room itself was quite spacious, very clean, and featured traditional Egyptian-style wooden touches. The king-size bed was comfortable with crisp white linens, and the air conditioning worked quietly and efficiently (which is a lifesaver in the afternoon heat!). Housekeeping did a fantastic job every day, often surprising us with cute towel art on the bed. 🌊 Beach & Pools. Because Bel Air shares some facilities with its sister property (Arabia Azur), you get access to a massive amount of space. The resort is built around a lovely private lagoon and a stretch of open beach. The Beach: The water in the lagoon is crystal clear, calm, and warm. We spent our mornings snorkeling right off the shore and saw plenty of colorful small fish and coral patches. There were always enough sun loungers and windbreakers available, so we never had to play the annoying "towel reservation" game at 6:00 AM. The Pool: The main swimming pool is large, clean, and has a great swim-up pool bar. The bartenders (especially Mahmoud at the pool bar) were friendly, always smiling, and kept the iced drinks and cocktails flowing. 🍽️ Dining & Food. As foodies, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety. The main buffet restaurant served a rotating international menu every night, with themed evenings (like Egyptian night and seafood night). Highlights: The live cooking stations for pasta and grilled meats were consistently delicious. The pastry chef also deserves a special mention—the selection of desserts and small cakes after dinner was dangerous for our waistlines! A la carte: We booked a dinner at the Italian specialty restaurant included in our package, and the homemade pizza and pasta made for a very romantic, quiet evening away from the main buffet hustle. ✨ Service & Staff. What truly makes Bel Air Azur stand out is the staff. Unlike some massive resort chains where you feel like just a number, here the personnel genuinely remember you. From the waiters in the dining room to the gardeners maintaining the lush, palm-tree-filled grounds, everyone greeted us with a warm "As-salamu alaykum" and asked how our day was going. There was no aggressive tipping pressure either, though we happily tipped for the exceptional service. 💡 A Few Minor Tips for Future Guests: Marine Life: Bring your own snorkeling gear. While you can rent it, having your own mask and snorkel lets you explore the reef right outside the lagoon at your own pace. Wi-Fi: The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in the lobby area, but the signal in the rooms can be spotty. If you need constant high-speed internet, grabbing a local Vodafone or Orange tourist SIM card at the airport is definitely recommended. Final Verdict. Would we return? Absolutely. Bel Air Azur gave us the exact mix of relaxation, good food, and authentic Egyptian hospitality that we were looking for. It’s not an ultra-modern luxury mega-resort, but its cozy atmosphere, direct sea access, and adults-only policy make it incredible value for money. Highly recommended for couples looking to unwind!
