Cleopatra Luxury Resort Makadi Bay

The inresort shop is not only expensive but the guy makes the prices up on the spot, claims the reason for the steep prices is because 'its import' his words... yet it literally says on it... made in Egypt. Always haggle and dont be afraid to walk away even if its for something simple. The resort is nice, staff are friendly however you do het hassled alot by the pool, for massages, trips, photoshoots etc. Red flags you can get from the towel bar, but it doesnt always put them off. Mini disco is OK for the little ones, although its the exact same songs every night, its also in the sports bar area which I find unusual We had a full body massage which was really good but again make sure you haggle on price/duration etc The resort is huge, weve got a junior suite with a balcony and sea view. I think sea view is a bit of a stretch, we can see it from the side of the balcony, but the wall is in the way to prevent you enjoying it while seated, although the room itself is very big so thats a plus. Food is pretty good, alot of variety. They have a gluten free area, vegan area which is good but limited. My little girl is dairy free and weve struggled so far with desserts for her, weve found this alot with most hotels though to be fair. Vegan ice cream has been mentioned but whether we manage to get it, we will see. Gym is pretty good, quiet, good quality machines and free weights, avoid the window area as the sun beams through making it hard to work out in, aircon isnt the best in the gym but its enough, much better in the rooms. We had a free photoshoot but they rely on you buying the images afterwards obviously, not bad prices again as long as you haggle. Theyre nice guys too 👍 Pools are a bit cold, not bad but even the heated pool doesnt feel any different. They have inflatables for the kids too which the loved and a bouncey castle Id say 3.5 - 4 stars is about right, havent been blown away, but a few tweaks would make it much better but for the price we paid I cant complain. Id consider coming back if we visited Hurghada again but being further away from the Marina etc isnt ideal, its a 40min drive so your very resort bound here

Hey. just got back home from Cleopatra. this place is amazing but the BIGEST POSITIVE point of our stay is about 2 men. 2 men whos made our stay fantastic is MISHMISH and MOHAMED ABDEL RAOUF. this two guy just brought every time happiness and joy when we visited the bar. big up for them!! Experience is really lovely, had a really nice time - had professional photos done here too, Gerhard was really friendly and helpful and great service

We arrived at 11pm, at the reception they told us they had no reservation for us and we are booked at another hotel, after some discussion and with our voucher proving the reservation, they told us that they are overbooked and informed our travelagency in the morning that they don't have a room for us. We had no information of these changes from our travelagency, after many phonecalls and discussions we arrived 2h later at another hotel which didn't fit the criterias of the Cleopatra, and where the restaurants already where all closed. This was the worst welcome experience ever.

We had a reservation booked weeks ago, when we arrived late in the night, we were told that the reservation was cancelled due to overbooking! We had to go to another hotel at 1 a.m in the morning. Do not recommend at all!
