JAZ Makadi Saraya Resort

The food deserves a special mention. The buffet covered cuisines from all over the world and there was something for every taste, from A to Z. Vegan and vegetarian options were always available and clearly marked, so nobody in our group had to compromise. Everything was fresh, well presented and changed enough that we never got bored of it. The people are what really made the stay. The serving staff, the housekeeping team and everyone else we dealt with were outstanding. The same goes for the trip organisers. Whether it was the Orange Island excursion, the parasailing or any of the other activities, they were polite, prompt with their timings, transparent in how they communicated and always ready to help, with a smile on their faces. That is a sign of true hospitality. The resort itself is well kept and easy to relax in. Another thing worth mentioning is the language support. Staff spoke German, Russian and Polish among others, so guests from different countries felt at home and could ask for what they needed without any trouble. Simply the best resort I have visited in Egypt so far. We are already planning to come back in the winter.

We had a wonderful time at Jaz Saraya Palms. The resort is beautiful, welcoming, clean, and very well maintained. The staff is incredibly hospitable, friendly, and helpful. There is plenty of entertainment and a great atmosphere, but you can also relax and unwind by the lovely pools while enjoying the beautiful views. The entertainment team is enthusiastic and entertaining. A wonderful combination of fun, relaxation, and genuine hospitality. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Overall a great holiday that we would return to . We arrived in the early hours of the morning thanks to a delay and check In was welcoming and easy despite the restaurant not being open we had a cold cuts platter prepared for us with drinks. We were taken to our room and the air con was preprepared to ensure the room.was cool although it was leaking due to it being left on high someome was immediately called to look at this and clean the floor. It was fine throughout our stay. The room was very clean and we had water bottles left for us everyday. It was kept clean and they work very hard. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and really appreciated how much work goes into keeping it lush as you see everyone working hard in the sun throughout the day . I wasn't sure on the first day about the lifeguards as we were not told the ganzibil pool was for a quiet space and we got told off to go to the other pool to make noise with the kids initially we felt a little put out but actually appreciated this as the holiday wore in as we needed some quiet away from the main pool. FOOD We thought there was enough food variety through the 10 days we stayed and enough locations yes if youre a typical English fry up type person you might not love it but if your pallet is varied you'll be fine .. my kids are fussy and found lots to eat. A lot of the kids seemed to eat pasta or some variation of . Pasta guy was lovely! To be honest so was the grill guys and most of the staff went out of their way . 3/4 of us got a dodgy stomach for a couple of days but a quick trip to the pharmacy sorted this out and I think this was just a change in type of food rather than hygiene. We couldn't use the app to select our special restaurant meal that comes included so we asked at reception and they booked the grill for us which was amazing. The pool bar had lots of kids options amd icecreams which the kids loved . STAFF What truly made the holiday was the people and staff ...special shout out to Akhmed in the main restaurant he treated us amazingly and with such fun we enjoyed our chats but to be honest everyone was nice. They treated our children loveky too everyone from the local shops to the bread lady. We were NEVER asked for a tip even though we gave some when we felt people had deserved it. Egyption hospitality was great and somthing we would return to enjoy again. OTHER HOLIDAYERS Yes there are lots of Europeans and not typical loads of British but we didn't have any issues with anyone and treated very well. The only comments I would say is that somewhere to wash your hands for lunch near the pool bar would have been nice , sunbeds ..there was always a lounger available but not always at the main pool due to people reserving beds even though signs said not to, more so from the 2nd week when it got busier so a couple of times we had to either sit in the table and chairs bit or at the quiet pool where we missed what was going on. ENTERTAINMENT We didn't figure this all out til the 2nd week but there is a list of what is going on right at the back of the pool bar where you wouldn't see unless walkimg past . Whenever we asked reception we were told to look at the board at the sunflower restaurant which only told you the evening entertainment. A lot of the entertainment team went around in the morning but if you were not around at the time they walked around you didn't catch them it would have been better to have everything on a board that everyone passed. The kids club never seemed occupied when we walked past. The street party, yellow party and pink was amazing our kids loved it. The night time entertainment was hit and miss - the superbowl was fun, as was the theatre visit , the Cuban band repetitive, the tombola was too long. I wish they had something for older kids st night as the kids hours is very young . I think they try to cater to everyone to be fair. We loved the aqua aerobics with zozz once we figured it was on . Was lots of fun. WATERPARK you got free access to waterpark via a bus .. it was a short ride away so could do without air conditioning on the ride (windows all open) but the bus came fairly regularly to be honest and the waterpark was fun clean and catered for all ages. I hadn't realised there were lockers until we left and somone told us . BEACH The beach had access via another hotel and was nice .. we only went late in the afternoon as was so hot so couldn't tell you if there was an issue with loungers there wasn't when we went, it wasn't overly far maybe a 5/10 min walk depending on how fast you walk but the walk was shaded so nice. NEGATIVES The only negative was checkout .. we were told 30 euros to stay till 3pm then charged 40 , none came to collect our luggage which we were surprised at as we had seen people being loaded up with luggage. Then we went to reception just after and was told we should have checked iut already just to leave all our belongings outside our room and someone will get it which I wasn't comfortable with as it was out of sight. Then we were told we had to wait while someone checked our room we told them what time we were getting picked up so i asked where our luggage was not knowing where it had been taken or even if it had been picked up from outside our room and we were told the luggage room we went to get it then a flustered receptionist found us advising he had been looking everywhere for us for our ride which had arrived when we had been told to go to the luggage room and we were waiting outside. They need to make checkout clearer. All hotels I've been before someone gets your luggage and then you go to reception to tell them what time you are leaving and they have it ready waiting for you or the luggage porter ready . I wouldn't have let the final experience put us off returning and hope that it was a blip in the egyption hospitality we had come to enjoy

Straight from the airport toilets be prepared to pay with coins . Hotel is clean tidy food is tasty and plentiful but once again be prepared to tip or walk to the bars . The app didn’t work and you will get passed around because only certain people can use the system. Our party all suffered with upset stomach’s this didn’t go despite visiting the pharmacy and doctors . Did manage a trip into the museum which was really good
