We stayed at Labranda Royal Makadi in October, traveling as two couples, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. The hotel is advertised as a 5-star property, with the added promise that choosing Labranda Royal over Labranda Club Makadi would give us additional access and a more premium experience. In reality, this was completely misleading. There are no clear delimitations between the two hotels, no signage explaining boundaries, yet if you happen to sit on a lounger in a different color section — even though you’ve booked the so-called 5-star option — you are quickly approached and even harassed by security. It felt unwelcoming and unnecessarily hostile. The property itself is extremely outdated and nowhere near 5-star standards. Around the pool, several tiles are broken, posing an actual safety risk. The loungers are old and worn out. The beach restaurant is fitted with plastic chain curtains that look cheap and neglected rather than stylish or functional. The rooms were equally disappointing. The furnishings are old, bedding feels dated, and the towels are clearly overused. The bathroom had visible rust, and both the bathtub and shower curtain looked aged and unclean. Overall, the room lacked the comfort and freshness you would expect from a hotel marketed at this level. Food quality was another major letdown. Breakfast and lunch were especially poor, with very limited salad options and low-quality ingredients throughout. The morning sausages tasted artificial — almost chalk-like — and the deli meats were simply unpleasant. Variety and freshness were lacking across the board. To be fair, the beach itself is large and overall quite nice. There is plenty of space, and the setting has potential. However, the entrance to the coral area on the right side is not maintained or properly managed. All that would be needed is a clearly created and safe entry point, which would significantly improve the experience for guests who want to snorkel. As it stands, the way people are currently entering the water there is quite dangerous, with no proper guidance or safe pathway over the rocks. In summary, this hotel does not meet 5-star standards in terms of facilities, maintenance, food quality, or guest experience. With significant renovation and better organization, it could improve, but based on our stay, we would not return and would not recommend it to travelers expecting a true 5-star resort experience.

we were supposed to be staying at the labranda makadi beach when we arrived it was in darkness / closed and had been for a number of weeks ( we were not even informed by easy jet holidays before leaving home or during the transfer by the easyjet reps) fortunately our coach driver spoke to a security guard outside the closed hotel who advised that we should try the jaz royal palmariva which was close by and fortunately the did have us on their system so maybe we lucked out in the end because this hotel was all we could ask for the location on the beach ideal ,plenty of sun loungers with cushions many pools and one of which is heated (the one with the swim up bar the food in the restaurant was excellent at breakfast lunch and dinner the choices were amazing and varied every night . drinks are local brands but the barmen make many cocktails so it always tastes good the lager is also very good sort of budweiser tasting but the best thing about the hotel were the staff from the barmen to the waiters and ground staff and cleaning staff (especially always smiling guy who kept our room 1425 spotless ) animation team work tirelessly and there was entertainment every evening usually a couple of singers so overall i would recommend a visit to this hotel we will definitely be returning ps on our last day the text from easyjet holidays said we would be picked up at our original hotel ! so we were a bit anxious and wondered whether we should go to it and wait there but we eventually phoned the transfer company who new where we were and arrived bang on time for the journey home

Really enjoyed our stay with Jazz Royal Palmariva. The hotel changed ownership on the 1st November and they are making changes, look forward to see the final concept. All the staff were lovely, too many to name but thank you. Special shout out to the animation team, the hotel was very quiet but they still did the rounds every morning xx And as for the food, absolutely loved it, so much choice in the main restaurant thank you. Finally the Italian a la carte…..Wow
