Pickalbatros Palace Resort

Our second time in a Pickalbatros Hotel and for all future trips we will stick with the brand. Emailed the hotel prior to arriving asking for a ground floor room near to the main restaurants. Got given a nice room which overlooked the aqua park so did not have a lot of people walking to the main pool early or late. Great choices of restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Only slight negative that their was no desserts only fresh fruit. Their is a seperate bakery but would have been nice to have something in the room your eating in. Pools and outside area is very clean and their is one heated pool but we stopped outside the middle pool and used to brave the swim to the pool bar. Accomodation was cleaned every day and we had water and pop refreshed every day. One warning is let your tap run a little while as the water sometimes comes out brown. Not a major issue but one to watch out for. Entertainment for all ages was very good, even though we watched and did not take part. No real issues except the hotel taxi desk was rude and expensive and we had to make our own booking. Luckily the security guard helped us and we got an uber. I would recommend the Moon Restaurant at Hurghada Marina ( go hungry). I would definitely recommend this hotel

Amazing stay at Albatros Palace Hurghada (All Inclusive) from Feb 16–19. Beautiful resort, very clean rooms, great food variety, and super friendly staff. Everything was well organized and relaxing. Highly recommended — I would love to come back!

We booked an Padi Open Water for a lot of money with Diving school Pickalbatros Palace. It was good, but be be alert! Afterwards we got an extra bill of 80 eur (without informing us upfront) for renting two divers watches and buying a logbook for 10eur!! Scamming! After I became angry I got 30 euro refund. So watch it and for sure … have fun!

We arrived late in the evening but were welcomed and told to go straight to the restaurant before we properly checked in as it was about to close. The check in was quick and easy and we were shown to our room. Our room was at the far end of the hotel so quite a long walk. If you have mobility issues then you should probably inform the hotel before you arrive. The room was a good size. A bit tired and probably needed renovating. We had a ground floor room overlooking the swimming pool which was very nice. The balcony had a table and 3 chairs which was great for sitting on after a day in the pool. We had breakfast in the main restaurant. There was quite a good selection of food. Even if it was busy there was plenty of food and always a table to sit at. The waiters were very friendly and helpful if we couldn't find anywhere. Lunch was at the beach snack bar which was chaotic if we went at certain times. The service is slow and the queues huge with a lot of pushing in. There are two swimming pools. One is huge and freezing cold. The other is smaller but heated so that pool was always very very busy. The sunbeds are very comfortable with mattresses on them which was good. The pool is next to the beach. There are lots of beds on the beach but the beach wasn't great sand and the sea is very shallow so we didn't go to the beach apart from walking on it and dipping our toes in the water. The downside of the pool is the constant selling of the spa, diving and other activities. I think I was quite naive before going to Egypt. I didn't realise that there is pressure selling everywhere and I didn't like that. There are shops inside the hotel and just outside. The men stand outside trying to get to go you into their shop and if we were slightly interested we were trapped by constant pressure selling. Walking out was the only way to deal with it. Not great. The animation team work really hard. Very enthusiastic day and night. There are lots of activities during the day and a show at night. The staff at the hotel were very good. Very friendly and helpful . Tipping is a big thing at the hotel. I did tip but not until the last day and to staff who really looked after us. We were the only British people at the hotel. Out of a hotel with 600+ rooms to be the only British people there wasn't great. I love to chat to people on holiday so for me not having a chat with other other holiday makers was quite disappointing. Overall we had a good holiday. But I wouldn't come to this hotel again. Mainly because it's very big and busy and because it's not a hotel where British people go. And I don't like the constant selling by the pool and from the shops inside.

I stayed one week with my family and we are very satisfied with the service ; room ; food and personnel. The hotel is very clean . The only minor point is the limited variety of the alcoholic drinks but this is not so important. The wine and beer is still fine. If I compare the service I have received against what I have paid ; it’s really worth. Just stay away from the diving center on the beach because they are just lying about the trip .
