Xanadu Makadi Bay

Very good, fresh and big hotel. I like it very much. Highly recommendation.

We returned to Xanadu for the second time taking our son and his fiancee on this occasion. Everything about the hotel, the staff and the food were as outstanding this time as when we visited last November. After some initial confusion about our room booking, we were upgraded to swim up rooms at no extra cost - this was a fabulous upgrade and was very much appreciated. Every single member of staff goes above and beyond to ensure that you experience the holiday of a lifetime. It was especially pleasing to be recognised by a number of staff in the a la carte restaurants. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout with cleaners, room service staff and gardeners busy everywhere maintaining impecable standards. We will be returning for a third time next November and already looking forward to it.

This was our first visit to Egypt and in honesty I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel, pools and staff were all lovely, the food could have been better. Some nights I did struggle to find something I would eat and many a night the dishes hadn't been replenished. Some night the fries seemed to only be on the children's buffet which I thought was a bit strange. We visited the Italian & Turkish a la carte, these were very nice. Not all alcoholic drinks were available as part of the all inclusive. I only drink Malibu, Tia Maria or Baileys and they were all chargeable. They don't have a local version either. I'd never experienced this in a 5* all inclusive before and ended up having a meeting with the food and beverages manager. After he explained about the import costs, I appreciated why they have to charge. If I was to return I'd be sure to pick a bottle up in duty free on way out. The hotel room was a decent size and was nice enough, possibly will need a refurb in the near future. The pools in this hotel were fab and you had so much room to move your sunbed if required. The only disappointment was some of the sunbeds were very uncomfortable and felt like they had done their turn. Most 5* hotels have better quality sunbeds with the cushioned mattress. The hotel grounds are huge and there is buggies that take you around the resort. The drivers on these were all so nice and friendly. Sadly due to some rude guests not knowing how to queue and be polite getting on these wasn't always a pleasant experience. Many times we'd be 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the queue but end up waiting for up to 3 buggies as it wasn't worth the fight to get on. Suppose some nationalities don't have the same morals and are rude and disrespectful. This isn't the hotels fault but they need to come up with a better system as by the end of the holiday I was totally frustrated. We had a few spa treatments which were all good and decent prices. We also booked the private glass bottom boat which took us to two reefs to snorkel and to the 'Maldives of Egypt' where the sea is only up to your knees and crystal clear. This was an amazing experience. All in all we had a great holiday, the weather was fab and some of the staff went above and beyond at all times. Amgad A.Latif by the pool and A.Moneim Reda in the restaurant were particularly good and always smiling. I would probably class this hotel as a good 4* rather than 5* but saying that if the price was right I'd definitely return.

We had a wonderful holiday at Xanadu Makadi Bay and really enjoyed our stay. One of the highlights for us was the beautiful beach, lots of pools with no fithing over a sunbed. It was clean, relaxing and the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine and the sea. The beach staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. Their warm attitude really made us feel comfortable and looked after throughout our holiday. A special thank you to Sadam Ahmed, who was absolutely fantastic. His kindness, helpfulness and welcoming personality made a real difference to our experience. He always made us feel valued and went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying our time at the beach. No health issues during our stay, we washed face, brushed teeth with tap water everything was fine. Overall, Xanadu Makadi Bay is a lovely place for a relaxing holiday, and the friendly staff are a big part of what makes it special. We would happily come back and hopefully see Sadam again on our next visit!

I absolutely loved my stay at Xanadu Makadi Bay! The hotel is beautiful, well-maintained and has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, helpful and always smiling. The food is also really good, with plenty of choice and something for everyone. The whole resort is clean and there are lots of beautiful places to relax and enjoy your holiday. A special mention goes to Mahmoud Ahmed, the fantastic Barman at the main pool! ❤️He is incredibly friendly, energetic and always brings a great atmosphere and smiles to the guests. He really made my time by the pool even more enjoyable. Thank you, Mahmoud, and the whole Xanadu team for making my holiday so enjoyable and memorable! ❤️ I would definitely love to come back!
