Xanadu Makadi Bay

have already given you my opinion. Hello, I have stayed at the Xanadu Hotel four times now, and unfortunately, I must say that the hotel has deteriorated significantly—from the moment of arrival and reception services to the accommodation and the restaurant. While the restaurant staff do their best to provide good service, the food selection seems to have stagnated, offering nothing new. There is a persistent issue on the beach with Russian guests who go down as early as 6 a.m. to claim spots with their towels, yet nothing is done about it; consequently, when you arrive after breakfast at 8 a.m., there are no sunbeds left. The only highlights for me were the beach bar near the theater and the Sky Bar—though I would recommend banning children from the Sky Bar after 9 p.m., when the evening entertainment begins. It is unpleasant to have a violinist playing while children run around right in front of him. Overall, the hotel left me disappointed; I do not believe the pricing matches the quality of the services and the outdated accommodation.

I was very disappointed with the food options. The same food was served every day, and the pastries were hard and didn’t taste fresh. There wasn’t much variety either. Xanadu Club, in comparison, offers a much wider selection of food and pastries, and everything is fresh and soft. There were seven of us, and all seven experienced diarrhoea, while some of us also suffered from vomiting. We were very careful with what we ate and drank, didn’t use tap water, and avoided anything unfamiliar. Despite this, we all became ill. Additionally, the bottled water provided by the hotel had a lot of scale-like deposits or unknown flakes floating in it, which was very concerning. The staff were a mixed experience. Some were friendly and helpful, while others seemed too busy to care, were rude, or served the wrong items. We were travelling as a couple, but we were given a room with two separate beds, so we had to push the beds together ourselves. On a positive note, the room service was good. The hotel grounds are huge, with beautiful views and plenty of space to walk around. If you don’t feel like walking, there are shuttle buses available throughout the resort to take you where you need to go. Overall, the hotel has beautiful surroundings and good room service, but the food variety, freshness, staff service, and concerns about the bottled water and our group’s illness seriously affected our experience.

We truly appreciated the hospitality and the level of care we experienced at Xanadu Makadi Bay. What made our stay particularly special was the kindness, professionalism, and genuine attention shown by the hotel team. His outstanding cooperation, warm attitude, and personal attention to our family’s needs were truly appreciated. He made us feel valued and welcome, and his dedication to guest satisfaction reflects the high standards of hospitality that Xanadu Makadi Bay strives to provide. It is people like Mr. Mohamed who make a real difference and leave guests with wonderful memories. Al Hussein MaHmoud was taking care of our room 1021, he kept it very clean and cozy for us on a daily basis. Not only that but he made a new towel animal for us every morning, was a really pleasant experience, would come back for sure! The hotel is amazing, we're really happy for the decision to visit it for the holiday.
