Aurora Oriental Resort Sharm El Sheikh

We recently returned from a 10-night stay at the Aurora Oriental Resort in Sharm El Sheikh. The biggest positive was the staff, who were all incredibly friendly, helpful and hardworking throughout our stay. The grounds, gardens and pool areas are also spotlessly maintained and looked fantastic every day. Unfortunately, the accommodation was a major disappointment. We stayed in Room 147 on the ground floor and found the room to be in a poor state of repair. The patio door handle was hanging off, and the bath/shower area was in a particularly unpleasant condition and in need of refurbishment. The main restaurant was another let-down. It felt more like a busy canteen than a restaurant and simply wasn't large enough to comfortably cope with the number of guests staying at the hotel. The food quality was very hit and miss. We both enjoyed breakfast, but for most evening meals we chose to eat out in search of better quality food and more variety. There is also a specialist restaurant within the hotel. EasyJet holiday guests are entitled to one complimentary visit per week, but because we had booked through an independent travel agent, we were told we were not eligible and would have to pay. This seemed unfair given that we were staying at the same hotel and paying guests like everyone else. While there are some positives, particularly the staff and the well-kept grounds, this hotel is marketed as a 5-star resort and, in our opinion, it falls well short of that standard. Personally, I would struggle to rate it higher than 3 stars. Would we return? Probably not, although we would like to thank the staff for their excellent service and friendliness throughout our stay.

Very welcoming and helpful with out suitcases. The rooms are a good size with a massive bed and sofa bed. The cleaner made our day by leaving animals made out of towels on our bed. Overall staff were amazing. Stay away from the shop in the hotel as he sold us fake baccy. I've called the guy "rip off Rick" Other than that, we've got no complaints

This hotel was amazing. Spent 2 weeks having a relaxing holiday with my family. This hotel has 2 exceptional workers who made this holiday for me. Mina Lord an Exceptional bartender who always made sure my glass was always full and served them straight to my sunbed and Admed Saad who was amazing waiter in the restaurant who always made sure we had a table available: Thank you to the both of you. I will defo be coming back soon
