Pickalbatros Laguna Vista Hotel - Sharm El Sheikh

Unfortunately, this hotel is just average. It’s quite large, so be prepared to walk a lot around the property. The positives: The hotel features a heated waterpark, which the kids really enjoyed, as well as two heated pools. Its location right by the sea is a definite highlight, with excellent access for snorkeling. We also made good use of the padel court, which was a nice extra. The downsides: The animation team was quite intrusive, although thankfully they were mainly active around the larger pool by the sea. The rooms are simply okay — they look much better in the photos than they do in reality. One noticeable omission is bedside lamps; if you want to read at night, it’s either the main ceiling light or complete darkness. The biggest disappointment for me, however, was the dining experience. The restaurants are furnished with cheap plastic furniture, some of which was visibly dirty, creating an uninviting atmosphere. The food quality was underwhelming across the board. Most dishes tasted bland, as if very little salt or seasoning was used. You’ll find something to eat, but it’s nothing you’ll genuinely look forward to. The à la carte restaurants were particularly disappointing and not worth the time. Concerto offered a rather odd set menu that had to be selected in advance. Golden Buddha was especially poor — the sushi rolls, fried rice, noodles, and sweet-and-sour chicken were far below expectations. It’s hard to understand why it’s labeled an à la carte restaurant when you can’t order individual dishes. The two outlets by the sea mainly serve low-quality fast food, although the kids did enjoy the daily waffles. Service was another issue. There is an overwhelming number of staff, yet everything feels chaotic. Dinner is far from relaxing — as soon as you take your last bite (and sometimes even before you’re finished), someone tries to clear your plate. We often had to repeatedly insist that we were still eating. It feels more like a canteen focused on efficiency than a pleasant, relaxed holiday dinner experience. Overall, I would recommend spending a little more and booking the Rixos a couple of hotels down the road instead.

Karim kaoud - absolutely outstanding service the most friendly welcoming team member we experienced the whole trip always went above and beyond and nothing was out the question! This man really does deserve a promotion within the hotel. I wish you and your partner the best with your new born daughter and your son :) The rest of the serving team were also the best we have ever experienced anywhere in the world. Absolute world class service from all at Pickalbatros Laguna vista Hotel was immaculately kept, great pools in particular the slide pool. Beach was beautiful and amazing walks along the pier. Food was a good mixture and great tasting :) Already booking next year 👍🇪🇬

We visited this hotel in Nov/Dec 2025 and told the staff we will be back in 6 weeks time. This visit was even more special as treated like Royalty as returning guests. This hotel is big, but on a big site so always plenty of spaces everywhere around the numerous pools and restaurants. Plenty of variety of foods at all meal times, buffet style there is so many selections of food every day, but if you want chips every day, you can, but not us. Special Al a Carte meals, in our opinion are too much. We found this out last visit so this time we asked for small portions, spot on with no wasted food, which we do not like to see. Thank you Team Buddha, spot on service by everyone. Did not see one member of staff without a smile, everyone is so polite and welcoming. Do not miss this hotel, you will not be disappointed. One heated pool was busier than the other pools, but we sat in a quieter area which suited us as did other people. Entertainment outside at night was mixed and enjoyable. Will we return again for a 3rd visit, YES OF COURSE. One complaint of a sort is certain guests take far too much food on their plates and do not eat it. Our motto is " Take what you want, But eat what you take" less waste. Not the hotels fault but the guests themselves. Many thanks to everyone in Team Pickalbatross, to many to name personally

We stayed at Pickalbatros Laguna Vista in December and it was exactly what we needed – warm sunshine, relaxed atmosphere and an easy family break. The pools and grounds are very well kept, the beach is lovely for winter walks, and the weather was ideal compared to the UK cold. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff worked hard throughout our stay. A good, honest 4-star resort for a winter escape. Would return for some proper December sun again.
