Pickalbatros Royal Grand Resort Sharm El Sheikh

We arrived at 11 pm and our initial view of the hotel was very negative. Lots of very drunk people, eating with no shirts on in a very messy restaurant, then shown to a very dated room, with a fast wild trip on a buggy that went far too fast. We then got food poisoning and were really unwell for a couple of days. The hotel moved our room and made sure that we had good service. Things rapidly improved and overall we enjoyed our stay The beach The snorkeling is excellent, but the whole beach is ruined by no guidance on reef protection. There are no fish identification boards and no guidance on stayaeay from the coral and how much damcan be done by walking on coral. Every single day, someone walks over the reef with no comeback from the hotel. In addition single use plastic is everywhere from straws with drinks to plastic spoons. These inevitably end up in the sea. They are not needed. The reef is the core reason for the whole resort. The restaurant The main restaurant served great food with omer as a stand out waiter. However the inside sounds and feels like a large busy canteen and sitting outside is the only option. Outside you have to stay away from the smokers as it's usual to have people smoking at all the tables. The a la carte restaurant is not good at all. The rooms are all flooded with the entertainment noise until 11 pm. Every single night. It's not acceptable and most of the noise is from the base being too loud. There is no information at all about the local area as old market and the mosque is easily walkable. There is no encouragement to go out and spend money in the area. The waste of good is absolutely awful with people building mini buffets on their tables and walking away with the food uneaten. All of these issues are resolvable and all are issues for the hotel management. There were several problems with drunken guests playing music and the hotel had to deal with it by having security watching the group who were intimidating. We eventually settled into the hotel to find that the staff are it's more strength. Please can the hotel address these issues, encourage guests to use some Arabic and remember that the reef is the reason we are all there

Lovely holiday. Friendly welcome check in. Offered food and refreshments before being taken to our room. The hotel is so clean and well maintained, the room was lovely, we booked a deluxe double with sea view on ground floor, absolutely perfect. The food is excellent and so much choice. All the staff amazing and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel grounds and gardens are beautifully kept, the beach is gorgeous. I can’t mention all the staff but a shout out to Ahmed and Daria on reception. Omer and Abdel in the soprano restaurant for their excellent service. Would recommend this hotel anytime. We will be back in April . Thank you for a great holiday

Great holiday ! The hotel was large and situated on the beach. Room was spacious and clean. 3 pools but we used the beach front beds as music was quite loud by main pool and we like to chill and look out to sea. Beach was small but very pretty and pontoon where you could walk out and snorkel. comfy sunbeds and staff were fantastic and friendly and often brought drinks to us - Lots of staff asking if you wanted to go on boat trips - highly recommend- we did 2 and there’s a diving hut on beach where they picked you up. Diving and snorkelling amazing here ! Food was good at hotel - lots of choice, one main restaurant where you eat breakfast dinner and tea and also another restaurant that did early breakfast if you had an early trip. Also a beach restaurant for lunch with a fab dj . Staff were very helpful throughout and very friendly- Daria the guest relations supervisor tapped in on WhatsApp to check everything was ok and couldn’t do enough for us throughout the whole trip. Hotel had taxi service set up front entrance with a useful book of places to visit outside the hotel - we used this service and the guy working there was super helpful too. Worth a visit to fashia - incredible bar and restaurant 8 min drive and also recommend el Fanar beach which had amazing snorkelling and a fantastic beach vibe ! AMAZING first trip to Sharm ! Fabulous hotel and staff

lovely hotel , great staff, so friendly especially Daria on reception. so helpful, couldn’t do more for you . food was good , a great variety. not so many english. The rooms were cleaned every day , fresh sheets and towels. The only disappointment we found was a very small beach . having said that , there were plenty of beach beds, and pool beds , no rushing to get a spot. This hotel was our choice for honeymoon. Even though we didn’t book a honeymoon package before, they gave us honeymoon benefits when we told them there. We had a breakfast to our room and had free dinners at à la carte restaurant. Daria sent us fruits and fruit juices. She was very helpful and friendly. Other people who work there are also very caring, smiling and nice. We loved the food at the hotel. Our room saw both the pool and the sea. It was cleaned everyday. It is close to the airport, Farsha cafe and the old market. The hotel parties and shows end around 23:00 pm so there is no noise after that time. This hotel offers such a great atmosphere! It was worth the money.
