Rixos Radamis Sharm El Sheikh

My husband and I stayed at Rixos Radamis for a 7-night all-inclusive trip. Having stayed at Rixos Seagate two years ago, we expected the same or better luxury standard from a newer hotel, but were deeply disappointed. Given the hotel only opened in early March 2024, the rooms already need a refurb and maintenance program—the grouting between floor tiles has gone black and dirty, silicone is peeling off in the bathroom, and the furniture is already chipped. We checked in after 10:30 PM. Our ground-floor pool-view room looked okay at first, but closer inspection revealed stained, uncleaned rugs with food specks and fluff, dirty floor tiles, and a red mark on the bedsheet. I called housekeeping twice and waited over an hour before giving up and laying down a towel to sleep. Only then did someone knock to change the sheets, so I requested the entire bedding be changed. The next day, lifeguard Mohamed Ahmed kindly helped us with our sunbeds and umbrella, but the pool towels he brought had stains and small holes. He apologized and found us cleaner ones, but resort towels shouldn't be in this condition. That day, my husband fell very ill with high fever and diarrhea (we still don't know if it was food, pool, or cleanliness related). Staying in the room made me notice dust, hair, muck, and red marks on the bedsides. Angry, I found housekeeper Hassan. With a colleague translating, Hassan apologized and said turnover times are very short—though short staffing shouldn't affect paying guests. I stayed in the room while Hassan spent 45–60 minutes thoroughly cleaning and washing the floor. I appreciate Hassan doing it right when asked, but it shouldn't take a complaint to get a room clean. The Final Days & Last Straw: Pressure for Immediate Reviews: A day before checkout, Hassan approached me and asked me to give a review on the spot. He made me take a photo of the phone QR code and asked me to write it right then so he could take pictures of my screen. I refused and told him I would do it in my own time. This felt very intimidating and forced—pressuring guests for instant feedback is completely improper service practice. Corridor Noise & Early Checkout Disturbance: I am a very patient person and had let the noise slide throughout the week. However, my final night was the absolute last straw. I got zero sleep due to loud talking in the corridor and persistent beeping noises all night long. To make matters worse, while trying to rest with the "Do Not Disturb" sign on, someone started knocking on my door at 8:00 AM. At first, I thought it was a child or a mistake, but the knocking grew louder and louder. When I opened the door, it was Hassan from housekeeping telling me I was checking out and he needed to clean the room. Official checkout is not until 12:00 PM—waking guests at 8:00 AM for room turnover is completely unacceptable. I made it clear to Hassan that I would be filing a formal complaint, as this completely tipped the iceberg. Other Negatives: Poor Tea Time Organization: Tea time is advertised from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, but staff don't even begin setting up until around 3:57 PM. The setup process alone takes up to 30 minutes, which is extremely frustrating since guests arrive early to secure limited seating. It was quite embarrassing to watch guests wait to pick up plates only to be turned away and told it wasn't ready yet. Buffet Service: Another big letdown was the waiters at the Turquoise buffet restaurant. Throughout our stay, we were never once offered drinks at our table or had our tables cleared without having to flag someone down, making us feel ignored or undervalued. Public Toilets: I repeatedly encountered disgusting public restrooms across the resort. The toilet seats were wet, the floors were filthy and soaked, and there was frequently no toilet paper, forcing me to walk all the way back to our room. Room Bathroom: A persistent, unpleasant smell from the bathroom drain. Shuttles: Staying on the Blue Planet side meant traveling to the beach side for entertainment. Golf carts were often overcrowded, requiring guests to fight for spots; more carts are needed. The Highlights & Exceptional Staff: The grounds are beautiful, and a couple of staff members really stood out despite the overall poor service: Ahmed at Coffee Planet (Blue Planet): He was amazing—warm, genuine, hilarious, and attentive. He made us his "Special Ahmed Drink" every evening. His hospitality and care truly made our holiday bearable, and he deserves real recognition! Hossam at the Buffet: A day before we checked out, we met a lovely worker called Hossam. He deserves a special shoutout because during our entire 7-day stay across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, no staff member had ever approached us to ask if we wanted a drink or to check on us. Hossam came over to our table twice that day to make sure we were happy. We told him he was literally the only person in 7 days to ask how we were doing during meal times. When we asked if he had always worked there, he mentioned he had been working down at the beach side and that day was his very first day over at the Blue Planet/Tirana side! Final Thoughts: A true luxury feel is given by the staff, not just the hotel brand name. Unfortunately, overall the staff here lack the attitude and attention to detail required to provide a luxury feel for customers paying premium prices. The staff here have massively let down the Rixos brand. As someone who thoroughly enjoyed their first stay with Rixos and vowed to only return to the Rixos brand when visiting Egypt, I will not be returning.
