TUI MAGIC LIFE Redsina Sharm El Sheikh

Home from a wonderful week at the Redsina! We stayed at another Jaz hotel last May in Sharm and had a lovely time. We returned this year and chose the Redsina on recommendation from a friend. What a recommendation it was!! The hotel is immaculate, well cared for and set in beautiful gardens. We had rooms on a high floor. They were cleaned regularly by Ahmed, who was fab. He always went out of his way to say hello to us and we had some fabulous towel art in all rooms which the children loved! The food is great - plenty of selection and something for even the pickiest of eaters. We ate in Magico for most meals. Islam and Ahmed made our week - always greeting us with smiles, memorising our drinks (as a group of 9 this was no mean feat!!) and making a fuss of the children. The team made a huge fuss of my son for his birthday including decorating the table, arranging a cake and singing to him. He was over the moon! During our stay we tried to learn some Egyptian Arabic sayings and Islam & Ahmed were great at helping us learn. They are a real credit to the team. We did eat at La Trattoria one evening. The food was very nice, however meals came out at different times. This was fine, we understand as we are a large group and ordered 5 pizzas! We made full use of the pool bar. Again, El Sayed and the others were amazing! Remembering the children’s names, always greeting us with a smile and had a real laugh with us. I did not expect to have a battle to get sunbeds. However this was the case. The information leaflet given to us at check in stated that sunbeds couldn’t be reserved until after 7am. However, on most days there were towels there prior to this time and even the evening before! It is unfortunate the hotel do not e force their own rules. We were told by reception to remove towels ourselves if we needed to use the beds. This isn’t something we felt comfortable doing. We fully expect people to pop towels on and go for breakfast etc but sometimes they were down at the crack of dawn then not sat on for over half a day. The pool staff / lifeguards were great too! Mohammed helped teach us some Arabic! Came to say hello to us every day. My son lost his goggles on the water slides and the lifeguard assured us this wasn’t a problem and to go back when they closed and he would help us find them. We returned and he helped us fish out the goggles from the bowl slide drop pool. So thank you for this :) we really appreciate it. We enjoyed the entertainment- the silent disco was a huge winner with the children. The white party was a bit crowded so didn’t stop long for that. Beautiful views from the jetty! A must do when you’re there as a welcome break from the pool. All in all, we had a truly fantastic family break we wouldn’t hesitate to go back. The staff work incredibly hard but their dedication to making us feel welcome, catered and cared for never waivered. Thank you!

Mixed feelings about this hotel. I always try to ignore certain issues because every hotel has pros and cons, and we all have different expectations. So I’ll try to keep this as honest and objective as possible. We stayed during the second half of May. The hotel was certainly better at the beginning of our stay, but once half term started and the hotel got full, it became difficult to find a sunbed or even a table for dinner. The snorkelling was great — definitely one of the highlights of the holiday. Most staff were very hardworking, smiling and helpful. I wouldn’t include reception in that though. Entertainment was mostly good. One thing that became a bit annoying was children being allowed to run around the evening entertainment area even after 10pm during live music. At times you literally couldn’t even see the singer because kids were doing gymnastics in front of the stage. I completely understand this is a family-friendly hotel, but you would think that after the children’s disco parents would at least keep a bit more of an eye on them. Drinks were not great. During quieter times you could get something decent, but once it got busy they seemed to just throw anything into cocktails. In two days, bars ran out of ice four separate times and continued serving drinks as if it was a minor inconvenience. Warm gin and tonic or mojitos with no ice are not exactly what you dream about in 35-degree heat. Food was varied but repetitive. You could usually find something to eat, but when the hotel got busier the queues became ridiculous. We had undercooked rice and fish a few times and after that didn’t really want to risk much else. Swimming pools were ok, although all pools apart from the baby pool are around 145–155cm deep, meaning you need to actually swim all the time. For older kids this can be a bit awkward. Our biggest issue was cleanliness. You won’t really see rubbish around because staff constantly tidy everything, but tidy and clean are two different things. I attached a few photos because honestly some things were shocking. The balcony table looked like it had not been properly cleaned for months. The bathroom walls — I honestly don’t even want to think what some of those marks were. Carpets looked dirty throughout the hotel. Rooms were not really cleaned, more just quickly tidied up — towels changed, beds made etc. The floor in our room was dirty from day one and stayed that way throughout the holiday. The whole room just felt filthy. Public bathrooms around the hotel were in a similar state and half the taps either didn’t work properly or only had cold water. Another issue was the complete lack of bottled water. Staying hydrated became a challenge. Water was served mainly in small glasses from the bars only, from large refill containers. The water in the rooms was filtered tap water in reusable glass bottles, which honestly we started blaming for our stomach issues. If you wanted normal bottled water, you had to walk to a supermarket outside the hotel and buy it yourself. Definitely not what I expect from an all-inclusive hotel. Needless to say, all of us ended up with stomach problems despite trying to avoid risky foods and drinks. The shops on site are an absolute rip-off. We needed a hygiene product which cost $8 in the hotel shop and only $2 outside the hotel. I understand higher hotel prices, but four times more just feels excessive. We also had a late flight home and couldn’t get a late checkout because apparently all rooms were reserved. We were promised access to a shower room instead. After finally managing to get a key — which was a challenge in itself — we honestly regretted not just using the pool showers instead. The shower room was disgusting. Two towels for four people, thick dust, dirt, hair, stains everywhere and no toilet paper. Would we come back? No. That said, I can understand why some people leave five-star reviews. We all expect different things from a holiday. Unfortunately, our expectations simply were not met at Redsina.

Awesome holiday, got back early this morning and we are missing the place already, all the staff are amazing and can not do enough for you. Special mention to Lucy & Nina on the entertainment team they are amazing and we had a brilliant laugh with them. Special mention to my main man Filo who works at the pool bar who kept bringing us drinks and looking after us. Thank you redsina hotel we had a fantastic time and we will see you again.

Have just returned as a family of four. Had the most amazing time. Food is varied and delicious something for everyone. Pool has a choice of entertainment or you can have a peaceful relax. Soo many activities we did t see most of it in the week we were there. Cannot speak highly enough of Islam in the Magico Restaurant. Mahmoud in the bar by the pool and Maomer Lifeguard. These members of the team made our trip extra special. Have never returned to any resort twice but will definitely be rebooking here.

The hotel is amazing , there is so much to do onsite at the resort as well as having plenty of excursions and shopping trips just outside of the resort , the entertainment team are amazing specifically Nina and Gideon they are always very friendly and are a joy to be around they work super hard😊
