Definitely a hotel of 2 halves! We started off in a family room above the main restaurant overlooking the car park which was floodlit at night! The room itself was basic and had two bedrooms with two double beds and the bathroom was a bath with a shower over. To say it was tired would be an understatement. The bathroom was grotty and smelt of sewage all the time, probably due to the drain in the floor there was also a chimney going outside with a glass shower door very odd. We complained for three mornings running asking for a change of room and even offering to pay. Eventually, we were given a room with a swim pool and an accessible bathroom - such a difference it was as if we were in a different hotel - still wouldn’t have paid the extra for this room though. A lot of of the conversations around the pool were about the differences in the room and it seemed to be a bit of a lottery what you ended up with. The pool areas the restaurant and the bar I couldn’t fault to be honest. Being all inclusive, we did have premium brands such as Bacardi and Smirnoff. Unfortunately the all-inclusive drinks stop at 11 which when you’re on holiday is a little bit early! The entertainment was lacking and on 2 nights was cancelled as there had been a bit of rain in the day. There was just something lacking. The resort itself was dilapidated scruffy and quite grubby. The beach was not pleasant and we didn’t spend a day there. The majority of the staff were good. Would I recommend this hotel? No, would I recommend the resort? No. If it had been a cheap deal, this review might have been a bit more positive but for mid September it certainly wasn’t a bargain for what was not a four star hotel! I felt very sorry for those people who were unable to get in their rooms having arrived 1 in the morning and being forced to sleep in reception and those people who were asked to move rooms on their last day just not good enough.
I am nearly 60 years old and have been on many vacations. Nowhere else have I encountered such disrespectful staff as at this hotel's reception.
Really tasty food! The mushroom risotto was 10/10!!!
The massage was great and Mike was brilliant
1. Run down area - very desolate. 2. Swim up pool in sensus area not at all private with steps outside balcony - people literally sat outside our balcony very dissapointed. 3. Noise from hen party diving in pool at 2am in the morning, running around corridor - tried to contact reception 3 times with no answer only to call back later (what if this had been an emergency?) 4. Hotel unsecure due to open driveway to side of apartments (anyone could walk/drive nest to our apartment or use the sensus pool area) 5. Struggled to book for massage - finally booked appointment only to return from trip to find note attached to door to rebook. 6. Snack bar atrocious - couldn't even make a cheese and onion toastie (2 slices of toast with cold cheese and onions on side) 7. Older lady in restaurant very rude.
