Amazones Village Suites

Well kept complex located just above Piskopiano Main Street (3-5 mins walk) with a lovely pool area and gardens, large rooms, excellent breakfast with lots of variety daily. Drinks at the bar are comparable, price wise across the 3 villages. Staff are lovely as is the owner who takes a personal interest in the happiness of guests. We had a lovely stay and are planning to return next year. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from an amazing 10 night stay at Amazones. This hidden gem is what Greece is about and why they have so many returning guests. It is situated on a hill so the walk up can be challenging for older people but the views once there are breathtaking!! The team headed by George are friendly, attentive and create a fantastic ambiance for all to enjoy. The bar offers great food and a good selection of drinks. The pool is amazing, very clean and well maintained. The rooms are large with extremely comfy beds and a balcony to enjoy the views. Thank you all for a great holiday 🇬🇷

First of all... 4 STAR? Out of what? 100? Room B3 only...we didn't get to see any other rooms as it wasnt offered after our complaint. Cupboards that dont close. Damp causing flaky paint (and respiratory issues). Mould on the "kitchenette"sink. A kitchenette with nowhere to cook except toast. No hob. The room stank of faeces for about 30% of the week. And it wasnt the separate bin for waste paper. The shower was a 2ft but 2ft tray with a broken shower head that if you put it in the holder aimed above your head and hit the shower curtain that flooded the bathroom floor. The balcony was an ok size for 2 but the woodwork was rotten and broken. If a small child was in there would have been an 8 foot drop on to a concrete wall. Highly dangerous! Our apartment was about 10 minutes walk uphill from main reception. We just felt out of the way. The staff were nice enough. I dont know who dishes out the stars for these places but they might want to get their eyes tested! Asterias Village 0.5 miles away is also 4star and they are worlds apart!!! Would not return. Would NOT recommend! In the end we didn't let it ruin Crete for us. The area is sensational. Amazones...not so much. Basic is forgivable...damp and mouldy and dangerous is not!!

This is not 4 stars as advertised the room's are dirty and dated they do not clean properly you have to wear shoes inside otherwise your feet will be black. Towel's and bedding are not changed regularly. There's no chance if getting a sunbed they are very uncomfortable anyway. There are a lot of steep hills if you struggle walking. Location is good beds and pillows are very comfortable. The villages are fantastic lot's of lovely places to eat.

We have recently returned after a 9 night stay at Amazones and had a great time, it was nice to have a holiday just to relax! The view was just amazing, there is a steep slope when visiting the village but the view and hotel were worth walking up that hill! The food in the hotel was amazing and was probably the best meals we had during our stay in Crete! I have to give a special mention to Myo and Ledi (apologies if spelt wrong!) they were both very friendly, always very helpful and very hard working! Thanks for our stay and hopefully we will see you again (fingers crossed) from apartment B2 x
