Arina Beach Resort

Amazing treatment at the spa! Dina was fantastic, very intuitive to my needs and wellbeing. Products smell devine. Would highly recommend to anyone staying at the Arina Hotel to book a treatment at the spa. Thankyou ladies.

Lovely hotel ... clean, staff are very friendly and helpful, great selection of food, pools are fun offering variety for all! The spa is wonderful! My husband and I both had a fabulous massage by Eleni, it was wonderful. What truly made the experience memoriable was when both my young girls had their first massage, with chocolate lotions, they loved it! They shared the same room which was great. Strongly recommend!

Perfect way to relax. Both Emma and Eleni were sensitive to my daughter and I needs, respectful of our experience and both exceeded our expectations!

Beautiful clean hotel, we had a 2 bedroom family room with sea view, it was a spacious room with plenty of storage, our sea view was only partial. We were ground floor with the heart shaped pool outside. The rooms were modern and cleaned every day with fresh towels. The hairdryer was pants but the shower was good. Beds comfy. They clean the outside early and make loads of noise and wake you up. Food in buffet was fantastic, probably the best buffet we have had. We only did the Asian à la carte and tbh I don’t class it as that, I was highly disappointed, it’s a buffet, food was delicious but cold, service no drinks offered only water. We were booked for meat and fish but I cancelled when I found out it was a buffet too. The waterpark was great for boys and the bigger slides were great for our 6 year old. The staff at this bar were lovely. Snacks here great and dia beach bar was great for food. We never went to main pool as could never get a sun bed. Hotels beach was nice but sunbeds not available till late afternoon. I would not rate this hotel more than 4 stars as apart from the friendly staff at waterpark bar and arcade bar, the main bar where entertainment was were rude. No service in getting you drinks anywhere and drinks were poor it states local and international but they aren’t available and when asked for absolute I got cheap vodka. Cocktail choice is poor and the restaurants are not ala carte. We stayed in a 4 star in Crete last year which was better and a 5star Marbella in Corfu which again was much better.. my husband wants to make a special mention for demetris the best service there. We made some good friends and still had a great holiday but will not go back.

Highlights - perfect beach / pools / water park, superb buffet and a la carte restaurants, great bar area, service usually with a smile, BRILLIANT kids entertainment team, airplane spotting! Downsides - persistent sunbed hogging / unavailability, gym is too small and open too late in the morning, very expensive taxis, nowhere to walk to outside the resort, lots of single-use plastics, staff seemed fatigued and over-worked. On this last point, of the many lovely, hard-working staff we met, they all seemed exhausted. From what I was told about time-off, I'm not convinced the EU working time regulations are being implemented. I also walked away questioning the general approach to managing people - there was a palpable degree of employee disengagement. I'm conscious of the challenging employment context in Crete, but I really hope managers are looking after their team members properly in addition to thinking about their guests. Overall impression - a high quality 4+ star family resort with some notable highlights.
