Atlantica Caldera Palace

We went here for 2 weeks in October hotel is as lovely as ever the staff are beyond excellent so friendly and helpful .. the new restaurant refurbishment was top notch and the choices in food fabulous all hot and fresh .. breakfast is amazing also fresh pizzas every day .. new food court is great too loads of choice and all fresh and hot .. à la cater restaurants were wonderful ! Staff again go above and beyond and the cleanliness is outstanding our room was cleaned twice a day with a turn down service each night too ! Once again a wonderful holiday well done to every member of staff who makes this possible !

A nice clean and well laid out resort with lots of pools. Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. The beds are comfortable. The buffet food is good with lots of choice. The spa is welcoming and the massage was good. If you’re in a big group ( we were 10 people in four rooms) restaurant reservations to be seated together need to be arranged the day before with the staff in the lobby and availability is not always possible. The staff in the Thai restaurant were amazing and the food was good. The tex mex was a bit his and miss and not very on theme. The Greek restaurant was awful. Stavros was rude and clearly didn’t want to serve us. We were given no choice for starters or desert. We were literally told to share what was bought out, this might not even have been too bad if they had at least given us a plate each to do so. Main courses were almost cold and unappetising apart from the beef which a couple of people enjoyed. The staff in the bars were all fabulous and very friendly and welcoming. In particular George at the pool bar was great. Entertainment in the evening was not the best. The downstairs entertainment space is not what you’d expect from such a nice resort. The upstairs bar was much more welcoming. Lots of fitness classes available in a nice outdoor area with lovely views. The beach is across a small road and is ok, quite small and rocky. There are a few bars and restaurants within walking distance. The pools were freezing cold, not sure if this was just because we were there at the end of the season but they could have at least have heating in one area. Overall a good stay with areas for improvement.

Just returned from a half term holiday to the Atlantica Caldera resort. We booked through Tui and had a fantastic week as a family of four. The location is 25 minutes from the airport and Tui have the transfer really well organised and stress free. The resort itself is beautiful with plenty of amenities and pools to relax by. The resort is big, but not overwhelmingly huge. Our room was spacious and really comfortable for four of us. We booked a family sea view suite and it didn’t disappoint. Loved the bathroom and the fact the mini bar offers a small selection of drinks that are topped up each day. Loved sitting by the pool and taking advantage of the inclusive bar service (Rodrigo was always very attentive and kept our drinks going). Food was again all included and the main buffet restaurant offered a wide range of options. There was a range of other included restaurants that could be booked with a reservation (three could be booked with a week stay). They were nice but felt they didn’t quite offer enough to set themselves aside from the main buffet other than a change of setting. Tip is to ensure you book as soon as reservations are available as they book up quickly. The resort was right on the beach front but our preference was to sit by the pool. It was nice to have the option. There was the choice of adult pools and bars as well as family ones. We ensured that we took advantage of the adult areas whilst our kids were booked into the inclusive kids club (which they loved). A few small complaints which would make this a 4.5 star review if I could, but felt 4 star would have been mean: -yes it was October, and despite the warm weather the pools were freezing- could one or two of the outdoor pools not be heated? -the snack bar (available between restaurant times) was a little bit limited in its offerings. Burgers, sandwiches and light meals were on offer but some proper snacks (crisps, snack bars, wider choice of ice cream) would have been nice. -similarly, once the main restaurants have closed at about 9, there is not much included food availability until breakfast. It would be nice if the bars offered a few light snacks. I found out that one of the bars allegedly did at the end of our holiday, but this was not widely advertised. -on our third night our room got invaded by mosquitos and we all woke up quite bitten. Admittedly we didn’t raise this with the hotel but be wary of this if staying. Minor complaints aside, we had a really relaxing stay and would definitely highly recommend this resort!
