Atlantica Mikri Poli Crete

Firstly 10/10 goes to ALL the staff. We arrived at the start of a 3 day storm that was the biggest in the area /Country for many many years. Thunder, lightning, landslides and flooding devastation in all areas. Throughout all this, the staff were brilliant, making us all feel safe, and somehow keeping the facilities inside the hotel running smoothly.. Thank You, you were all fantastic. The hotel has 2 restaurants, the main daily one which offers a variety of food for breakfast, lunch and evening meals, all with a wide selection. The second is a separate Greek restaurant that you can booked ( very worth while). Both serve lovely food. The rooms are clean and spacious with a modern feel, and are serviced daily. Reception staff are very pleasant and helpful. When we were having trouble booking a trip online, they contacted the area rep directly and arranged for them to come to the hotel and the problem was resolved the same day. The entertainment team offer various options throughout the day for adults and kids alike and an 'end of day' show in the hotels own open air amphitheatre. This team are very energetic and very professional. The hotel has 2 main pools, 2 smaller pools with slides for kids, and an adult only pool. On top of these, there is also an indoor pool, spa, gym and jacuzzi. Set in a small cove, there is a semi private beach with ample sunbeds so you never miss out on relaxation in the sun. A soft drinks dispencer is also available on the beach !! For alcohol you need to go to the poolside bar which is only about 25m from the beach. Watersports are also available (additional cost) on the beach offering jet-ski, peddalo-boats with slides, and boat rides etc. The hotel is set on a hillside, so not ideal for those with mobility issues, however there are several lifts which help with this. We had an excellent stay at this hotel! It is absolutely beautiful, very pleasant, and offers a stunning view. 😍 The service is outstanding in every way, whether at reception, from the housekeeping staff, or in the restaurant. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, always smiling, and truly goes out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. A very special mention goes to the Pink Waves entertainment team! ❤️ They are a young, dynamic team full of energy, who take their work very seriously while remaining incredibly friendly, warm, and cheerful. They know how to create a fantastic atmosphere and make the whole holiday even more enjoyable. A huge well done to the entire team for their professionalism, kindness, and infectious energy! We are leaving with wonderful memories and would highly recommend this hotel. 🌴☀️

Currently staying at this hotel. The rooms are great and beds comfy. Excellent beach and pools. I agree with previous review as I only spoke to 1 other English guest. The food caters for european guests though there was always pizza to have but choices can be limited. This makes you feel very isolated. At one point in the bar others are served before you and you can wait 25 minutes for a drink. Overall it is lovely and clean but I would not return for the above reasons. Location is very remote but if you walk down to the village its nice.

Recently got back from this hotel. Lovely hotel, can’t fault the cleanliness of it all or the staff etc. Super comfy beds, really nice beach and nice pools. The only thing I would say, you can tell that this hotel has only just started receiving a few more British guests. There was, at most, 4 other British people there while we were there. The vast majority being German, Polish etc. Nothing wrong with that at all of course but it does make you feel a little isolated. The food is quite European in style for instance. There was always something nice to eat, the pizzas were especially good, but not the choices I would normally make elsewhere. Also, the location of the hotel is quite isolated. Makry Gialos is a lovely small village but there isn’t a huge amount to do nearby and the buses are few and far between and you are far too far away from a lot of the other lovely villages and locations on Crete. This is not a complaint, just to say that bear it in mind. If you’re the type to explore then I’d strongly recommend you hire a car for the week to to do so as the buses will not get you there. One thing that has to be absolutely commended is how gracious and helpful the staff were during the storms we had while there. They dealt with it fantastically under some seriously difficult conditions.

My boyfriend and I had a 70-minute couples massage, and it was absolutely amazing! Every single minute was worth it. 🥰 My therapist, Vasia, made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed, and I was able to fully let go and enjoy the entire experience. I can recommend her! We had such a wonderful time and would definitely come back.
