Axos Hotel

Just returned from our first visit to Crete for a 1 weeks holiday in this lovely hotel. This hotel is the perfect location and just minutes walks from the beach, tavernas and bars. The bar in the hotel had a great atmosphere with Yanis and some great cocktails. The hotel staff are so friendly and very helpful, the rooms were clean with good air conditioning and WiFi. Excellent value for money and we will definitely return to this hotel.

We have just left this beautiful hotel after a weeks stay with my family, the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is to much trouble, clean rooms fresh bedding and the pool is so nice quiet and the bar is lovely. A nice breakfast with lots to choose from tea and coffee and nice air con rooms. They speak perfect English I cannot recommend this hotel enough thank you everyone at Axos.

Our room 246 was quite small. The bed was huge but sadly pushed against the wall so one of us had to climb over the other to get in or come up from the bottom of the bed. No bedside table on that side obviously or bed side lamps either side? A spare bed in the lounge area and a small table and 2 hard chairs. Nothing to sit and relax on, disappointing. Tv in lounge area but maybe 2 channels available. Kettle and mugs, fridge and hairdryer in room. Small balcony with 2 plastic chairs. Rooms cleaned each day apart from Sunday, towels and bedding changed the same. Bathroom top by sink not cleaned the whole week. Breakfast very continental, eggs, beans and bacon? really quite cold. Cereals toast etc. Staff here are wonderful and friendly. Pool area clean, plenty of sunbeds. The bar area is fantastic and does fresh pizza too. Our go to restaurant for our entire visit was Tavernna Yiannis. 30 meters from the Axos hotel. Food fantastic as well as service. Large well stocked supermarket next door. Would definitely return but ditch the breakfast and buy what we needed at supermarket. Get a private transfer from airport if you can as coach took nearly 2 hours with other drop offs.

Our third visit to Axos and it is still outstanding! The staff team are amazing! They genuinely care about their guests and people are made to feel so welcome that many people go back time and time again. The rooms are lovely; comfortable, relaxing and maintained and cleaned to a very high standard. Everything is in an easy walking distance and on the flat … beach, supermarket, tavernas and bars, local shops and the bus stop with frequent buses into Rethymno. The hotel bar provides a really friendly service, but equally isn’t going to be keeping you awake all night with noise! There is a lovely pool that is spotlessly clean, and provides a peaceful relaxing environment! Can’t wait to go back next year !

Hotel Axos in Crete is a true gem, especially for those seeking a cozy atmosphere and warm, family-like hospitality. We had the pleasure of spending a fantastic week here at the turn of July and August 2024, traveling with our two children. From the very first moment we arrived, we were amazed by the exceptional friendliness of the owners and the entire staff. We felt at home, and their attention to detail and welcoming nature made our stay unforgettable. The hotel is small, which adds to its charm – we avoided crowds while still having access to everything we needed. The location is perfect – close to the beach, shops, and local attractions, yet peaceful enough to truly relax. We absolutely must highlight the amazing bar run by Jannis – every evening there felt special. Jannis serves delicious drinks, and his sense of humor and genuine warmth make it a place you want to return to every single night. Another highlight is the fantastic value for money. The room was spacious, clean, and with daily housekeeping, we felt comfortable throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a place for a family vacation with a friendly atmosphere, away from large resorts, Hotel Axos is a perfect choice. We highly recommend it and will definitely return!
