Blue Bay Resort

We have just finished our holiday at Blue Bay Resort, and we can honestly say that we had a fantastic time. We were extremely happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. Cleanliness – Excellent! The hotel is extremely clean and well maintained. Our room was cleaned every day, and the towels and bed linen were changed daily. Everything was spotless, including our terrace. We didn't see any insects or pests during our stay. The swimming pools were also very clean, with lovely clear water. A big thank you to the housekeeping team for doing such a fantastic job! Staff – Absolutely Wonderful! One of the best things about this hotel is the staff. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, helpful and always smiling. Nothing is too much trouble. A special mention to the bartenders, who make excellent cocktails and drinks. They are generous, friendly and always serve you with a smile. The whole team really makes you feel welcome and well looked after. Food – Fantastic Quality and So Much Choice! We were extremely impressed with the food. The quality was excellent, and there was a huge variety of dishes to suit everyone. There was always a great selection of meat dishes, vegetarian options, pasta, cheeses, salads and many other delicious foods. Whether you love meat or prefer vegetarian food, you will definitely not go hungry here! Breakfast offered a very good selection, although the choices were quite similar each morning. However, dinner was absolutely fantastic, with different dishes every evening. The food was constantly being topped up, so there was always plenty available, even during busy times. And the desserts! There were often around ten different types of cakes and sweet treats to choose from, with different desserts served in the evening. Everything looked lovely and tasted delicious. The freshly squeezed orange juice was particularly good, and there was a wide selection of other drinks available throughout the day. The coffee was fine, although coffee from a proper espresso machine would have been a nice extra. However, we understand that this is not always practical in a large all-inclusive hotel. We personally thanked the chefs because we were genuinely impressed with the quality of the food. They deserve a lot of credit for their hard work! Facilities and Location The swimming pools were lovely, clean and well maintained. We also enjoyed a massage during our stay. The ladies working at the spa were wonderful, professional and friendly. It was a lovely, relaxing experience. The location is also very nice, with beautiful views of the sea and surrounding hills. We really enjoyed the scenery. Rooms – Just One Small Suggestion Our room was very clean, comfortable and well maintained, so we have absolutely no complaints about that. The only thing we would personally improve is the decoration. The rooms are quite simple and could benefit from a little more colour and character. Perhaps some artwork, pictures of Crete or traditional Cretan touches would make the rooms feel warmer and more welcoming. It would be lovely to walk into the room and feel a little more of the local atmosphere. This is purely a personal preference and certainly did not affect our enjoyment of the holiday. Overall – A Fantastic Holiday! We have stayed in different hotels over the years, and Blue Bay Resort certainly deserves its four-star rating. The cleanliness, excellent food, friendly staff and beautiful surroundings made our holiday really enjoyable. A huge thank you to everyone working at the hotel, especially the chefs, housekeeping team, bartenders and restaurant staff. You all work incredibly hard, and it really shows. Would we stay here again? Absolutely, 100%! If we ever return to this part of Crete, we would definitely choose Blue Bay Resort again without hesitation. Thank you for a wonderful holiday! Lovely hotel with great all inclusive meals. Spotlessly clean throughout with friendly helpful staff. Large busy pool area. Bit isolated, main town walking distance down a steep hill

If you want a relaxing holiday just around the pool this is the place to be . If you want things to do foget it everything is up and down hills and steps so not ideal if you struggle woth mobility. The beaches are a walk away down very very steep hills and steps and its full of boulders and stones the beach is tiny very few shops and very expensive. When it rains ya stuck in ya room as theres nothing to do in the hotel other than the spa or gym. The foods repative but plentyful. Make sure you check your room type as theres thw main hotel and an annexe which is stuck on top of a hill and outdated. The rooms that are basic rooms have no tea and coffee facilities but if u ask they will bring you one but you have to pay for suplies. The drinks menu is wine wine wine raki and ouzo. If you want a decebt coctail or spirit you have to pay for this. The ala carte again you have to pay for this. Ive never known a hotel resort like it the staff are lovely very friendly. And the hotel and grounds are clean . The swimming pools are all freezing you come out blue . Defo not a 4 star more a 3 star at the most.

I enjoyed my 10 day stay here. The hotel is very clean and has a lovely view. There are plenty of sun beds available throughout the day - but I did go in October, so a quieter period! In terms of entertainment, I think this hotel has some of the best all inclusive entertainment I have seen! I really enjoyed it all! There is a free shuttle ran by the hotel down to the local beach, €10 for 2 sunbeds and lovely cafes/bars by the beach. There is a bus stop to Heraklion directly outside the hotel entrance. There is a lovely restaurant a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel as well - Yamas. The staff in the hotel are all very friendly and approachable. The room we had was a bit small, nowhere to store our suitcase. But the room is only to sleep in at the end of the day! The all inclusive drink choices aren’t the best - just Raki and Ouzo cocktails. The beer is nice and enjoyed the wine spritzers! Also they have Pepsi max, which is a winner for me! The food is nice although the breakfast is the same every day and I feel like there could be more variety in the dinner options as well, got a bit bored of the food towards the end of the holiday. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend to someone. I wouldn’t visit again but only because I like to travel to new places! 🇬🇷

We have travelled all around the world, but if I had to sum up our two weeks at the Blue Bay Hotel in one word, it would simply be: perfect. From the moment we arrived, we felt looked after. Our flight was delayed and we got in late, yet we were welcomed outside the moment our taxi pulled up and handed a packed tea so we wouldn't go hungry. It's those little things that set this hotel apart, and they kept happening throughout our stay. What stands out most is the warmth of the team. There is a real sense of family and teamwork here, and nothing is ever too much trouble. I like my coffee in my room first thing in the morning, so I asked for a kettle and cups and they were there without fuss. Extra blankets and pillows were never a problem either. Every member of the restaurant staff greeted us with a hello and a smile, and you could tell they were genuinely happy in their work. The level of respect, professionalism and etiquette feels like they have been doing this for a very long time. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, from our room to the restaurants, pool areas and every corner in between, and the housekeeping team clearly take real pride in their work. For an all-inclusive, the food was excellent: always plentiful, varied and fresh, with something for every taste. The views are out of this world. We are normally avid explorers, but for this holiday I honestly didn't want to leave. The hotel has everything you need, yet the chance to venture further afield is right on your doorstep if you want it. Even on our final day, when we checked out at 11am but weren't leaving until 9pm, we were still welcomed to use all the facilities and restaurants. That generosity says everything about this place. Thank you to the whole Blue Bay team for an unforgettable two weeks. We will be back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
