Caldera Creta Paradise

A beautiful hotel with great potential, but not all staff meet its standards We spent two weeks at BLUE STAR Caldera Creta Paradise & Waterpark in Crete. Having travelled extensively and stayed in many hotels around the world, we know how much professional service contributes to a memorable holiday. First, I want to mention the positives. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, our room with direct access to a shared pool was fantastic, and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. We genuinely enjoyed many parts of our stay. Unfortunately, the service in one of the bars was a major disappointment. On several evenings, we witnessed behaviour that we would not expect from staff at a hotel of this standard. Bartenders repeatedly confused guests’ cocktail orders, spilled alcohol across the counter, prepared drinks carelessly, used electronic cigarettes in front of guests and went into the back room while customers were waiting. At times, their behaviour gave the impression that they might have been intoxicated. However, I want to be absolutely clear that I cannot confirm this, and I am not making that accusation. My concern is about the unprofessional behaviour we personally witnessed, which happened on more than one occasion. For me, the lobby bar is the heart and the face of a hotel. It is where guests relax, socialise and enjoy their evenings. The professionalism of the bartenders plays a huge role in the overall experience. We do not expect perfection, but we do expect care, attention and respect for guests. And now, something truly special — Gianni and Olympus Bar! ❤️🌟 Many guests may never discover Olympus Bar, and honestly, they are missing something wonderful. In our opinion, one of the hotel’s greatest treasures works there. Gianni is an exceptional person with a big heart and a truly professional approach to her work. She is warm, welcoming, attentive and genuinely cares about her guests. She creates the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel appreciated and want to return. Her kindness, positive energy and professionalism made a lasting impression on us. Gianni represents exactly what great hospitality should look like. ❤️ I sincerely hope the hotel management recognises how fortunate they are to have someone like her. Final thoughts Caldera Creta Paradise is a beautiful hotel with many positive qualities and some truly outstanding employees. However, the difference in service standards between certain bars was disappointing. A hotel is not defined only by its rooms, pools or facilities. It is the people who create its reputation. I hope management takes a closer look at service consistency, because this hotel has the potential to offer a truly excellent experience. Despite the shortcomings, we will remember many beautiful moments from our holiday. And a very special thank you to Gianni at Olympus Bar — you are truly one of the brightest stars of this hotel! ❤️🌹

The hotel rooms are quite small and showing signs of wear in places. The resort works well overall, with plenty of activities on offer. Special praise goes to the staff at the Olympus pool bar for their excellent service and some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had at an all-inclusive hotel.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Caldera Creta Paradise. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organised and the whole resort was clean, well maintained and pleasant. The staff deserve a special mention – everyone was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was comfortable, clean and regularly serviced. The food was one of the biggest highlights of our stay. It was genuinely very good – fresh, tasty and varied, with a great choice of dishes every day. The quality of the food definitely exceeded our expectations. The hotel also has a very nice atmosphere and is a great place to relax while still being a good base for exploring Crete. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. We would happily come back.

The hotel is very good with clean airy rooms and outdoor space. We did have a family room with private pool. Most of the staff are good and very helpful though some of the bar staff and receptionists can have off days. Really loved Klio and 'big boss man' in the restuarant. Lots of variety in the food though hot food not always hot - there is a microwave near the soup!! There is a special area for kids to get their own food on sectioned plates. Great idea and although it was not school holidays there were lots of school age kids there as well as babies and toddlers. Dining could be noisy and a bit chaotic. Help yourself wine, beer and juices are very palatable. The beach is pebble and grit and not good to walk along and not any really nice walks along the road unless you go to Platanais where there are shops, bars and lots of places to eat. Long walk though if you are not all inclusive. Lots of supermarkets everywhere. Its 30 min bus ride Chania, 2 hours to Heraklion and 2 and a half hours to Knossos. We did go on the Little Train trip round our bit of the island but apart from views there is not much going on the further west you go from Chania. Great hotel but too far west if you do not want to spend all your time sunbathing

I’ve just returned home from Caldera Creta Paradise, where I celebrated my 50th birthday with my family. What a fantastic hotel, with equally fantastic food and staff! The absolute highlight of the hotel was the entertainment team, especially Matt, Konrad and the rest of the crew. You are amazing and do such a fantastic job for everyone staying at the hotel. You truly made our trip unforgettable! Yamas!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🙏
