Where do I start. Arrived 4th of September the lady in reception was quite harsh. This carried on in our stay. Went to sit by the pool. Filthy broken toys left drinks rubbish. Never went to the pools after that. Room lovely. Breakfast good. We had an awful experience with polish people loud music til 1.40am and it would have carried on if I did not ring reception. Spoke to reception staff the following day got told they are having fun and shall I kill them. Enough said won’t be back

The room we were given had no view whatsoever, even though we had paid extra for one. The room was very clean (the housekeeping staff were extremely friendly) and reasonably well equipped with cutlery and other essentials for preparing meals, which we did a couple of times during the week. The additional so-called environmental fee of €35 could easily have been included in the room rate. It felt a bit stingy to charge for it separately at check-out. The woman at the reception could have been a little less passively aggressive in her friendliness. The driver who took guests the extra short distance up the hill was the friendliest person we encountered during our stay. The pool area is excellent, and there is really nothing missing. We were somewhat surprised by how high up the hotel is located, but in the end it worked out well, as it unintentionally turned into a bit of a fitness holiday with all the uphill walks back to the hotel. We will probably choose a different hotel closer to the beach next time, but overall it is a very nice hotel that we would recommend.

Superb but a must read! I’ve had to repost this as I’ve used the wrong account. Also, I’ve updated at the bottom after reading other reviews which are harsh. We’ve just returned from an incredible 10‑day stay and absolutely fell in love with this hotel. It’s a brilliant choice for families, couples and anyone who loves great food, great pools and genuinely lovely staff. The hotel has three main pools plus a splash park. We spent most of our time at the main pool, which was perfect for families and ideal if you’ve got a pram. There’s a quieter adults’ pool (although some families do wander in without realising) and another family pool by the Veranda Bar. The splash park was a huge hit with our children – open 10–1:30 and 6–7:30 – and if we returned, we’d definitely look at booking one of the shared‑pool rooms with the infinity‑style pool. We always got a subbed but don’t leave your towels when going for breakfast as it is frowned upon. People still do it but one day someone came around and removed towels. Although, some people are incredibly selfish and left their towels (room was close) and didn’t even come until the afternoon. I was glad when theirs were removed. Food & Drink Review Food was consistently excellent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all had brilliant choice, and Greek Night was a real highlight with delicious food and dancing that everyone joined in with. The snack bar was great too – the gyros pitta especially – and the all‑inclusive buffet had plenty of options throughout the day. Drinks were good, with great espresso and a decent Cretan beer. I’d recommend bringing your own cup as the hotel cups are on the small side. Rooms, Staff & Chania Tips Families should request the lower level near the main pool. Couples or older families should absolutely go for a sea view – the sunsets are stunning. Rooms were cleaned daily (except Sunday) with fresh towels, and the staff were genuinely wonderful. Our little one had a temperature and they helped us arrange taxis, appointments and everything we needed. Also, do not book the late checkout. There are so many showers dotted around the hotel and changing facilities. It’s actually great if you fancy a late flight and some extra sun and a cheaper flight! The hill is worth mentioning. It’s steep if you come the main way. If you go the advertised way it’s easier. It didn’t bother us, but if you have mobility issues, Chania in general might be tricky. Even our double pram struggled on some pavements when it got busy. Chania itself is beautiful – classic Greece with lovely shops and restaurants. We’d love to explore more when the children are older. Extra Notes & Improvements If you are a runner Chania is amazing. Hills and mountains and then beach and long roads. Perfect. You also get access to Gorganza Beach Bar for free sunbeds. The bar and restaurant are lovely, staff great, and while the free sunbeds aren’t the front row, they’re absolutely fine. There’s loads of other beautiful places next to this bar with nice sunbeds. Some free if you eat lunch. Improvements: • Splash park could do with a little maintenance before next summer. A few smaller parts aren’t working. • Please close the restaurant door – the air con works brilliantly when it’s shut. • Allergy/ingredient cards would be even better if they were larger and on more items. Overall: Book it. Is it on a hill? Yes. Is it suitable for those who struggle with walking? Probably not. Is it stunning? Absolutely. I’ve read some comments about the Greek dancers - they are definitely on for longer than 10minutes. They were working so hard and we all joined in. If someone arrives at the restaurant when they have 10minutes left of their performance that’s their fault. It’s also not a fight to get sunbeds. We got them every day around the three pools. If you don’t go to the pool until 11ish - chances are the sunbeds will more full and you’ll have to look for them but there were always a couple. If you have a large group you obviously need to get there earlier. There are lifts - not necessarily to the exact floor you want. You’ll have to walk up steps if you don’t ask the hotel for specific rooms. We did as we had a double pushchair and the hotel were brilliant. On our arrival and departure a minibus took our cases to the bottom of the hill. On arrival the cases were brought to our rooms. Also, checkout is advertised.

We’ve had a fantastic week here as a family and have been really impressed with the hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff have been friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful. The hotel and grounds are kept very clean, the pools are lovely and there has always been a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed for the week. We stayed all inclusive and thought the food was excellent. There was plenty of choice at every meal, it was always fresh, and we never struggled to find something we liked. The drinks selection was good too, and the staff worked extremely hard throughout our stay. What really stood out for us was how family-friendly the hotel is. Travelling with a young child can sometimes be stressful, but we felt very comfortable and welcome here. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The location is also excellent, with beautiful views and a great base for exploring more of Crete. Overall, we’ve had a brilliant holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel to other families looking for a relaxing all-inclusive break in Crete.
