Candia Park Village

Room quality *** Self catering facilities ** Swimming pool ***** Staff courteousness ** Buffet quality *** Evening entertainment ** Site maintenance ***** Gym quality *** Beach ***** I gave the hotel 2 star due to the taxi scam I hate dishonesty. We had a disappointing experience during our stay. When we asked the reception desk to book a taxi to Knossos, they recommended a driver on an hourly rate, assuring us it was the best way to guarantee a return ride. Unfortunately, the return trip felt like a scam—the driver took excessive detours to inflate the fare. Since reception explicitly recommended this partner operator, the hotel shares the responsibility for that experience. The Good: * The grounds are beautifully maintained and landscaped. * The pool area is lovely (though very cold in October). * The renovated bathrooms are nice, and the buffet food is decent. The Not-So-Good: * Rooms & Self-Catering: The rooms feel dated, and the "self-catering" setup is extremely bare-bones—just a small hob, kettle, and low-quality pans and utensils. * Service: Staff hospitality was inconsistent; some were welcoming, while others expected you to magically know how things worked. * Amenities & Entertainment: The evening entertainment (especially the kids' disco) lacked effort, and the gym is very small with limited equipment. It's a gorgeous property with great potential, but basic service and amenity issues let it down.

The massage with Priya was amazing! Thank you

It was a very good massage and a very relaxing experience.

We stayed at Candia Park Village with our boys, and although the weather was mostly cold and rainy, we had a wonderful time. We are already planning to come back next year. Our room was lovely and the food was excellent. The boys especially loved the pancakes and the omelettes, always freshly made to order. We enjoyed the sea, the olive trees, the pedal boat trips and the many fish you can see right at the beach. What really makes this hotel special is the staff. Everyone, whether in the hotel supermarket, at reception or in the restaurant, was friendly and helpful. The service team around Katerina, Dimitris and Ledio always kept everything under control, even when it got busy, and were consistently kind and attentive. Service truly comes first at Candia Park. The car rental at the hotel, Byron, was absolutely outstanding. The lady there was incredibly helpful and kind. With the car we visited the Zeus Cave and had a fantastic dinner at Karnagio in Agios Nikolaos, both highlights of our trip. And we cannot stress this enough: the ice cream at the hotel’s own ice cream parlour is FANTASTIC. We have rarely had ice cream this good! Thank you to the whole team. See you next year!

Had a wonderful experience at Candia Park including a relaxing massage by Diki. It was an added bonus that the beach is essentially a walk down from the pool! Would come again.
