Extremely disappointing experience for a hotel claiming to be 5-star We arrived at the hotel at approximately 1:30 am, only to find that there was nobody at reception. We waited for around 15 minutes before I eventually went outside, and a man approached us, took our name, and showed us to our room. This was a very unprofessional welcome and certainly not what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. The following morning, we went for breakfast, but nothing was explained to us and there was absolutely no communication from the staff. The food was cold, and the toaster was so old and inefficient that it took an extremely long time just to slightly warm the bread. The condition of the sunbeds was equally disappointing. They were old, with ripped cushions, and certainly not up to the standard you would expect from a hotel advertised as 5-star. To make matters worse, you had to walk across long, uncut, soggy grass to reach them. The evening meal was another disappointment, with the food being cold once again. On top of everything else, there was a very strong smell of sewage in the reception area, which was extremely unpleasant and completely unacceptable. Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor communication, cold food, neglected outdoor facilities, and unpleasant smell in reception made for a very disappointing stay. Our 7th visit to Castello Villiage over the last 3 years and know exactly what were getting each time we book. The Hotel is situated @ 45 mins from Heraklion airport, I dont know if this is coincidence but we always end up either first or second drop off which is great for us. Our room was situated on the ground floor with a pool view, the room was very spacious with a decent sized bathroom. We did request rooms close to our family who came along with us, on this occasion they were situated at the wrong side of the building to us and wasnt ideal, I spoke with the management that we wasnt happy with the room locations and the space inbetween us, Katerina & Dora (management) took into consideration we were returning guests and a request for rooms close to each other had previously been requested, we were moved the following day to another room with my family next door to us and could share the balcony on an evening. our cleaner came in every day and remade the bed and provided fresh towels, the cleaners can be seen every day and do not stop, always seem to be busy remopping ther floors, cleaning the windows. All kitchen staff are very pleasant and cant do enough for you, the food is very nice offering a great breakfast selection from fruit/cereals/bread and a hot selection of food that is self service, A drinks machine with a wide selection of hot drinks, a drinks machine with cold refreshing juices. during my previous visits I have never had a bad meal or any complaints, the kitchen is on the lower ground floor and a flights of stairs to get down to the kitchen area, entry can be gained using the side that has a sloped walkway (wheelchair accessable) The outside resteraunt is undercover where you can purchase food/snacks and beers, Mythos is served in a Ice cold glass that makes the drink so refreshing. the far side of the pool is another bar that opens @ midday, again alchao; and spirits can be purchased, we ordered from the bar and gave our room number to have a running tab, signing for the drinks was more convenient and easy to do then settled the bill at the end of our holiday, the bill is itemised if any queries can be addressed before settling the bill, I have never had any such descrepencies and prefer it this way albeit you can pay as you drink. The pool is accessable using stairs at the corner with hand rails and steps into the pool, the water is very chilly first thing but by 11 am the water has warmed up, the sunbeds are situated around the pool and each area gets the sun at different times of the day. Directly opositte castello village is a shop thats sells everything you need and is a fair price. Overall this is a beutiful hotel that has family values and a great management team who can be seen in reception. were already planning a 2027 visit. **Not generated using AI but my own words and my experience**

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had such a wonderful experience at the hotel and the Mediterranean Spa (Azoria)! ❤️ The entire staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, friendly, and professional. Everyone made us feel so comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. A special thank you to Konstantina, Rigas, Rozalia, and Kostantina for their amazing hospitality and kindness. You truly made our experience even more special! The spa experience was absolutely amazing, relaxing, and unforgettable. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was excellent. Just avoid this hotel. It uses other sister hotel photographs in its sales literature and it is filthy, dangerous and at best 2*. The rooms are prison like and the staff rude when complaining. Tui themselves have not covered themselves in glory with their poor response to after holiday complaints neither. Whole experience worse in lifetime of travelling and I’m 67…

Where do I start? My wife and I have now enjoyed over three hours of treatments each during our stay, and every single treatment has been exceptional. From the moment we first walked through the door at Azoria Mediterranean Spa, the whole team made us feel genuinely welcome. The reception team, especially Konstantina, were always friendly, professional, helpful and incredibly kind. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they made us feel valued from day one.  What makes this spa stand out is the honesty and genuine care shown by the therapists. They could easily try to sell expensive packages and treatments, but that is not how they work. Their focus is entirely on helping you feel better. They take the time to listen, assess what your body needs and offer professional advice without any pressure whatsoever. Any recommendations are just that, recommendations, and the decision is always entirely yours. My first treatment was incredible. I came out feeling sore, but in the best possible way, as though years of stress and tension had been removed from my body. What amazed me most was that the therapist even worked on a wrist problem that I had previously been told might require surgery. After just a few tweaks and adjustments, the pain disappeared. I genuinely couldn't believe the difference. Our second treatment was a complimentary 30-minute session arranged through our hotel. Despite it being complimentary, we were treated with exactly the same care and attention. Every knot and area of tension was worked on, and I left feeling completely refreshed. Today we had our third treatment, and once again it was absolutely brilliant. My wife came away feeling deeply relaxed, and I somehow left feeling as though every knot in my body had been ironed out. The skill, knowledge and care shown by the therapists is truly outstanding. A huge thank you to Konstantina, Rozaria, Rigas and the entire team for making our experience so memorable. You can tell that everyone genuinely cares about what they do and about the wellbeing of their guests. This has been far more than just a few spa treatments for us. We arrived with aches, pains, stress and tension, and thanks to your incredible care, knowledge and kindness, we're leaving feeling refreshed, relaxed and genuinely better in ourselves. It's rare to find a team that combines such professionalism with such warmth, but every single person here has done exactly that. The level of care we've received has been outstanding from start to finish, and it's something we won't forget. Thank you for helping to make our holiday so special. The treatments have been amazing, but it's the people we'll remember most. You've made us feel cared for, welcomed and valued every step of the way. When we think back on this holiday, Azoria Mediterranean Spa will be one of the highlights.
