Castello Village Resort

Well it's another here we go again!!! Holiday number 6 staying at the Castello and what a fab time we had . Lovely warm welcome on arrival ...we had requested the same room as we stayed in last may which had lovely views which is very important to my cousin and I...the room was spotless as usual never understood when people complain about the cleanliness in the hotel as we have always found it very clean! Food was up to it's high standards with lot of verity only night we didn't eat in was because neither of us are very keen on fish and Tuesdays is fish night. The staff in this hotel are the best! So smiley and caring...will on the bar is a brilliant person, barman , etc he is so particular in the way he prepares your drinks! We had a great night at the bar nearly every night meeting some lovely people. Hopefully we will return next year don't say we haven't warned you hehe 😉 I still have to bring up my biggest bug bare...I really love staying at the Castello but absolutely hate the public toilets they really do need a revamp. Nice hotel village type setting on several levels. Some rooms are affected by noise from noisy poole bar in the evenings. Fortunately was able to be moved to quieter part. Food is buffet style and loads choice including typical Greek food. Lovely friendly staff in restaurant and reception . Several people we met said had booked sea view rooms but really pool view and had mouse problems at night. I think management need enforce quiet after say midnight. Sissi is lovely. 10 mins walk one way along front to harbour bars coffee places and shops and 5 mins the other to small beach inlet with sunbeds and bar. Lovely shallow waters. Would recommend Happy Train up to mountain villages and trip to Agios Nikolaos and Spinalonga. All in all a good hotel in excellent position. Just the pool bar noise at night the main negative

​The location and views here are stunning, and most of the staff were fantastic. However, the property is noticeably run down and lacking upkeep. ​We paid extra for a hot tub that had error and non-working jets. When reported, the maintenance staff member insisted it was fine, and when we challenged him, he rudely said, "Well, I'll just turn it off and you can have nothing." He spent the day walking around looking angry instead of fixing obvious issues. ​Great location, but completely let down by bad maintenance and a shocking attitude.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and clean rooms and facilities . The food was very good and varied. Complimentary 10 minute massage which I extended to an hour amazing! Would recommend and would return.

An honest review of castello village! On arriving there was slight confusion with the room which was sorted professionally very quickly! The room was very clean with beautiful sea view ! The reception staff and all the staff at the hotel went above and beyond to help and were extremely approachable and friendly!! I would say that the tea coffee milk facilities glasses in room were sparse but that’s pretty trivial but just slight touches like no spoons etc or milk filled were the only little aspects that let it down overall a nice hotel in a great location but we booked the hot tub sea view room on the second floor which was very quiet excellent cleaning service tiny things could make this hotel not get the bad hype!! We loved Sissi .. we never had the breakfast other than one day looked to be a varied choice which I’m sure would suit most people! Cleanliness could not fault, just slight touches on room facilities would really add to the experience but overall good experience 😊
