Creta Maris Resort

This hotel has everything you need for a family of four. It blew me away. I normally find something that bugs me but this hotel is perfect. The layout resembles more of a village theme rather than a hotel which looks extremely impressive and so relaxing to spend your holiday in. Food, Rooms, Facilities, Staff and Atmosphere is brilliant. I treated myself to a massage and facial at the spa. Eleni was fantastic 👏

It is our 2nd time at Creta Maris, previous visit 2022. There are lots of lovely things about the place and we enjoyed our stay again. This time we were in the bungalow area, the room was larger but definitely more run down (mainly bathroom, lights etc...) but our cleaner was good. We enjoyed all of the restaurants for dinner and would recommend going to book a different one each morning when you have breakfast buffet (the booking app didn't work for the entire time we were here) The buffet was overwhelming for me at times and I preferred the verandah to sit in, as it was bit quieter. The cocktail menu is great but the Vegera bar was not great this time. It does not have enough seating, it takes more than 20mins to order a drink (its table service) and they appear to actively avoid you so that you give up ordering a 2nd. It also lacked ambience this time, it has increased in size and felt like a crammed waiting room at times. The pool bars are much easier to order from and really positive, friendly staff. The pools have a sun lounger issue. We've found there is both not enough sunloungers and no policing of them. For e.g we saw one set of sunloungers with towels on til 3pm in the afternoon. It creates unnecessary conflict. I was only able to get sunloungers for the 3 of us 1 of our 7 days. This is easily sorted with a pool side organiser, we've seen many hotels employ. Food has been good overall. The fish restaurant was particularly good. The watermark lunch offerings are good as well, meaning you don't have to brave the lunch buffet if you don't want to. The hotel can organise taxi's to and from Heraklion and its old town is great to wander around for an afternoon, some lovely shops and food. The local town Chersonissos (next to Crera Maris) has sadly become more run down since the last we visited but I'd still recommend making the effort to go and have a cold beer down there. Just remember to wear trainers as the floor is very uneven.

Wow, what amazing people, what an amazing place. We stayed at the Creta Maris for two weeks at the end of September, we were treated like royalty. We first first came across the Creta Maris in September 2025 when we were looking for a wedding venue in Crete, we were blown away from our first encounter and knew this was the place we wanted to get married. Eleni was our wedding coordinator from the hotel, we met her on day one and we were charmed from the outset. What an amazing, beautiful person. From walking out of the hotel last year we started to make plans for our wedding with the help of Eleni. The planning was detailed and thoroughly thought through, Eleni made the whole process so easy. Due to there being a language and communication barrier (mostly via email) we did have moments when we weren't sure if Eleni understood exactly what we wanted but as soon as were arrived in Crete for our wedding it was obvious Eleni was in control of everything and all our wishes were being taken care of with thought and care. For the wedding we had 19 of our friends and family attend, they were all looked after so well and all said what an amazing hotel and beautiful place to get married. The day we had was spectacular, a symbolic ceremony on a terrace near the beach, a cocktail reception to follow and then an evening reception and dance. None of this would have been possible without Eleni and the amazing team of staff. The hotel itself is fantastic, the restaurants, pool areas and bars are second to none. The place is also spotless, the cleaning team never stop, they are a credit to the hotel. As well as Eleni we also have to mention the rest of the team that helped make our holiday and wedding so special. Ani, Maria, Georgia, Vagelis and Alkistis, thank you all so much x

I had a facial massage treatment from Elani. It was very relaxing. Would thoroughly recommend!

Exclusive Adult Sea View Room - Oct 2026 Excellent friendly welcome at reception on arrival. Room spacious and newly renovated. Bed is huge (two singles pushed together with a mattress topper)) and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Bathroom basic but adequate and rainfall shower lovely. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, robes and slippers all provided. Along with other toilets, nice touch. Absolutely beautiful view of the sea from our room and we could hear the waves at night, which was very relaxing. Food excellent in the main buffet restaurant and the à la carte restaurants. The exclusive adult only area in the main restaurant is lovely. The bbq restaurant was not as good as the other’s restaurants, but that’s due to personal preference in terms of food that I enjoy, also the restaurant itself was loud and not to my taste. The staff however were excellent and could not be more attentive. Little shout out to the staff at the Greek à la carte restaurant, they were so lovely and could not do more to make our evening a pleasant one. They brought us some Rakomelo to try which is so good. Resort could not be cleaner, I did not see one piece of litter the whole time I was there. The staff on the whole were excellent, friendly and helpful. I would absolutely visit this resort again and will definitely return. It is absolutely huge and is actually the best resort I have stayed at. Loads of pools, restaurants and bars. It’s so big that you can easily get lost and we kept finding new things even after we had been there a few days. A few things I would mention to improve it further would be the following - The main thing being the cleanliness of our room, I’m not sure if we were just unlucky with our cleaner, but the toilet was not cleaned most days and neither was the floor,the mirror, balcony etc . I did complain to reception about the state of the room one day and they rectified it straight away, apologised and re-cleaned it. But I must say that if you look on the shelves and under the bed etc it was dirty. It felt like they literally did the bare basics every day like making the bed and not a lot else!! This is why I have only rated it with 4 stars. Such a shame. Sun loungers round pool could do with a really good clean, they smelt and were a bit mouldy. The service in the meat à la carte restaurant was very slow compared to the other restaurants and we felt that we had actually been forgotten!! But all in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to return, but maybe not in October as we had rather a lot of rain.
