Creta Star

We’ve just returned from a 10-day stay at Creta Star Hotel, and while there were definitely some positives, a few key things left us a bit disappointed. First, the staff are absolutely the highlight of this hotel. Everyone from the bar to the restaurant and housekeeping is super polite, hardworking, and genuinely attentive. Without them, the place would really struggle, they make the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The hotel itself is very clean, and the close-back proximity to the beach is bliss. Coffee lovers will be happy to know the coffee is actually good, and that’s coming from someone who has a Jura machine at home, so that’s saying something! Unfortunately, the reception team didn’t live up to the same standard. While professional enough, they came across as a bit cold and uninterested. When we checked out, there wasn’t even a “thank you,” “goodbye,” or “how was your stay?” which felt odd and impersonal. As for the food and drinks: • Cocktails are just okay, they’re served in long glasses with ice cubes dropped into warm mixers, so they melt instantly and the drinks never stay cold. • Beer is fine, and the white wine is drinkable, but the rest of the wine options are pretty much unsinkable. • The salad bar and fruit selection are fresh and enjoyable, but the hot food is a real letdown. Everything is lukewarm, drenched in oil, and the meat and vegetables either dry and overcooked or mushy. In ten days, we didn’t have a truly hot meal once. There’s also not much around the hotel, and on the short walk to the nearby supermarket there’s a strong sewage smell, which isn’t exactly pleasant. Overall, the Creta Star could be so much better with a major improvement in the food and a bit more warmth from reception. Compared to Club Marvi in Menderes, Turkey, this felt more like average canteen food rather than the standard you’d expect from a four-star hotel. With some tweaks — especially in the kitchen — it could be a really lovely place.

Great location with stunning views from the hotel 5th floor - sea view - recommending high floors 4-6 sea view. Newly renovated, high-tech hotel room, very clean and cozy with a great balcony. Adults only - very nice and quiet polite guests (no Russians). Great service and the best food every day at the restaurant. I really recommend !

A perfect hotel for couples! The food is delicious, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. If you're looking for parties, this might not be the place for you – it's all about peace and relaxation here. The hotel is adults-only, which makes it ideal for a quiet and restful stay. Guests come here to unwind, not to party. As a standard courtesy information—there’s a €10 per night tourist tax per room, which is common throughout Crete and must be paid on arrival.

We stayed in this hotel as a couple (my husband and I) not for the first time. We've been here before, when they were not "Adults only" with our teenage daughter. The concept of "Adults only" implies that there are no pool slides, no pools for small children, there is no noisy kids' disco in the evening and that's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the holiday. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, the receptionists Galina and Mariana (I may misspell the names) offered us an early check in in the first day and a late check out in the last day for FREE and a nice beach bag as present for choosing this hotel for second time. All the employees are respectful and with gorgeous smiles on their faces. The territory is out of Heaven, soft grass, smooth sand, always free sun-beds and umbrellas for everyone, beautiful and greenery and sunsets out of movies. The room we stayed is 2004 from the left side of the main building, facing the territory of the Creta Royal Hotel from nearby. The room is fully furnished / renovated, equiped with everything you may need for a comfortable stay. The hotel offered us a bottle of Cretan wine, a bottle of still water, fruits and sweets, 2 bottles of soda and a lot of soft drinks in the fridge on the first day. The room maid was very polite and friendly. There are two main restaurants on the territory - one for breakfast and dinner the other - by the pool - for the lunch. The food is fantastic, tasty and delicious. There is always plenty of fruits, sweets, ice-cream, a large number of drinks. The are several bars with amazing barmen who will always wish you a nice day. We will definitely come here again and again.

My mother and I spent a wonderful ten days at the Creta Star hotel. I would like to thank all the hotel staff who took good care of us. At the reception, in the dining room, the animators, the cleaners – all kind and hardworking people :-) The food was excellent, with a great selection, and the best were the sweet desserts!!! The sea was beautifully warm even in June, sometimes there were waves, but you could still swim nicely. The room was clean, tidied every day, including towel changes. The only downside of the whole vacation was the smell of sewage in the room. After notifying the staff, it was fixed and then it was better. The hotel services were top-notch! Thank you very much for a wonderful holiday.
