Spent 7 nights at this hotel. We were here during 5 days of very strong winds and heavy rainfall, which is not the hotels fault. On arrival met by a young lady and booked in. Shown to our room and our cases were delivered by a couple of young men. Our room was ok, a quirky design with a sink and a long black pipe descending from the ceiling supplying the water. Not suitable in my opinion as after using the toilet you had to leave the bathroom and enter the bedroom to wash your hands. The shower was decent, there is a port hole type window that looks in to the bedroom, bizarre. No shelf space in the bathroom. All toiletries had to be put in cupboards on the wall in the bedroom. Wardrobe space was very limited and hardly suitable for 2 people to hang their clothes. Couldn't reach the 2 top cupboards unless there was a ladder, so that was a waste. Bed was ok. TV had the usual plethora of non Englisg channels and the usual 2 English news channels. On to the outside bath and plunge pool. The bath had no grab rails. The plunge pool was a waste as it was freezing cold. The pools too were very cold. As we were B&B board the breakfast was uninspiring to say the least. They try hard but having travelled widely, in comparison they could do better. The hot breakfast choice was disappointing and in my opinion limited. There was a good choice of fruits, breads, cereals cold meats and cheeses. The staff were attentive and friendly. However due to the bad weather and guests not eating outside the hotel adopted a queueing system and guests were sat in a waiting area until a table became available. It wasn't until the fifth day after complaining that the hotel had very little to offer in bad weather were we made aware of a streaming device being available to use free of charge. I have seen mention of a library in other reviews but we were unaware of its existence. The gym was a sparse affair with limited equipment ie one treadmill one rower one cross trainer inside and a free weights station, some similar in outside area near the dining room. We never used the spa so I cannot comment, however, the indoor pool was chargeable and I found this to be somewhat troubling for a 5 star resort. On mentioning this to a member of staff at breakfast she went away and came back to say that the heated pool was now free. Not good on our penultimate day. The staff were made aware of our complaints as they were raised at the time. Overall very disappointed for the cost of this resort. I fail to understand some of the over the top glowing 5 star reviews because I must have been staying in a different hotel. Would we return, no.

Great hotel, lovely spa treatments and service - good gym, good poolside service and great to be near beach. A few inconsistencies with room were immediately resolved on sharing. Service was good overall, albeit would be great to offer more welcoming and atmospheric bar options on an evening if RAW is closed. This is a tiny point, but as I shared with the team direct, expectations are higher when advertised as 5star. It was a lovely place and stay overall. Eating at RAW and quality massages were a highlight
