Dore Boutique Hotel

What a beautiful hotel, full of beautiful people who genuinely care about making your stay as comfortable as possible. We stayed in room 201 as a family of four, situated right behind reception. I was initially sceptical that we'd experience lots of noise because of the location, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The room was beautifully presented, peaceful and kept gorgeously clean throughout our stay. I can't remember ever having a more comfortable hotel bed or pillows, and I stay in a LOT of hotels travelling for work! The food was really great: excellent quality, well presented and regularly refreshed. If I'm being picky, I would have liked a little more variety at breakfast, better butter for my toast and better quality fruit juices, but otherwise we were very happy for an all-inclusive package. The desserts were particularly excellent, although my holiday clothes started feeling increasingly snug as the week went on! We used the pool at various times of day and never struggled to find loungers. It never felt overcrowded, the atmosphere was relaxed and the service was consistently excellent. The location is excellent too. It's an easy walk to both Agia Marina's main strip and the lovely older part of the village, with lots of excellent restaurants to choose from nearby. The beach is also within easy walking distance and is lovely, with clear water that shelves gently into the sea, making it great for swimming. The biggest thing that sets Dore apart, though, is its people. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, but a particular thank you has to go to Martha on reception. She went out of her way to help us on numerous occasions, including after we'd left when our flight home was cancelled due to disruption in UK airspace. When we were struggling to get answers from our travel company, Martha continued helping us despite us no longer being Dore's responsibility, making calls, offering the hotel's facilities and even helping us resolve an issue with our replacement accommodation. She absolutely didn't have to do any of this, and her kindness during a very stressful situation meant a huge amount to us. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend Dore without hesitation. It's a lovely, beautifully maintained hotel, but the people are what make it really special. Thank you to everyone who looked after us, and especially Martha. ❤️

We had such a lovely stay, and Martha on reception deserves a very special mention. From the moment we arrived, she was warm, positive and incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, even helping us arrange a car, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Her kindness and genuine enthusiasm made such a difference to our holiday. The whole team welcomed us like family, creating such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Thank you, Martha, for helping make our stay so special — you are a real credit to the hotel.

We visited The Dore Hotel 2 years ago & since our visit then, they have built on a block with duplex & swim up rooms which is stunning. We were welcomed back with open arms, fruit, sandwiches & a bottle of wine in our room & upgraded to one of their duplex apartments. The staff, the atmosphere, the whole experience at The Dore Hotel is outstanding. We have booked already for next year & can't wait to go back. Special thank you to Martha on Reception who was so helpful & friendly, but all the staff are helpful & friendly, it feels like home when you arrive & is totally safe. We can't wait to come back Dore Hotel & see you next year ! xx

We had an outstanding and relaxing stay at the Dore Boutique Hotel in Agia Marina. The hotel is ideally located close to all amenities, and our room was always clean and comfortable. The food was consistently good and served hot, with plenty of choice. What truly made our holiday memorable was the exceptional team working at the hotel. Every member of staff was friendly, attentive, and always greeted us with a smile. Their hard work and genuine hospitality created such a welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay. Restaurant Team Sofia, Ergit, Silvy, Mixalis, Daniel, Manolis, Alexandra, Katrina, and Maitre Eftixis — thank you for your warm service and professionalism each day. Bar Team Stavros, Nikos, Ageliki, Nicole, Anastasia, and Stelios — always cheerful, efficient, and a pleasure to chat with. Animation Team Pedro, and especially Mauri, who kept our grandson entertained and smiling — your energy and enthusiasm were fantastic. Reception Elena and Marta were always welcoming and helpful, and a special mention to Jojo the groom for his friendliness and assistance. The manager, Mr. Antonis Margaritakis, should be extremely proud of this exceptional team. Their dedication and kindness made our stay truly unforgettable. We hope to return again. Great hotel and excellent service from staff throughout. Food - food buffet was excellent at all times. Always good selection of meat dishes, chicken, fish, pastas and salads. Sushi and octopus also made an appearance on one of the nights. Desserts have a good selection. No one should complain about ther food here. I did go to the one of the beachside one or two afternoons but that as I really fancied a grilled octopus whilst looking over the beach and ocean. The restaurants are a short walk away. Kids really enjoyed the buffet and were excited ever mealtime. Rooms - we were in a room overlooking the pool area and further to the sea. Clean and well equipped. Housekeeping further cleaned every day. Bar - great selection of drinks. They stop the all inclusive at 11pm, which was a bit of a miss for me on some days and seemed to close around 1am. Some drinks are not included (eg JD) but most are. Pool area - clean and tidy and the pool is great size. Kids loved it. temperature was 30 - 31c every day in the water. Only thing i would say coudl improve this hotel is a waiter service around the Pool - they collect empty glasses but theres no service which means whenever you want a drink (often in 36c) you need to get up, put somethign on and go to the bar. Location - short walk from the beach and main street in Agia Marina. There's not much else there tbh, except a few supermarket, lots of eateries etc - and the beach. Chania is c30mins away. Entertainment - It's not a butlins but who wants that. There some daily water aerobics, with some basic games - good for kids, then around 430 games like water polo and evening often a singer or muscian, or we had Bingo one night and a greek evening. Entertainer is very friendly, really makes an effort to get to know the guests and involves people that want to play and lets you alone of you dont.
