Enorme Santanna Island

We had a great holiday here this year, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. We went for the all inclusive package, and the food and drinks were very good quality. The entertainment was good, with it on most nights. The hotel is let down by the lack of sun beds, we sometimes had to go back to our room until some became available which was a shame as you just want to chill by the pool some days There is a rule that you can’t leave the bed unattended for a certain amount of time, but we rarely saw this enforced. The Italian spot was our favourite, we often had lunch there (the gyros trays are great) and booked in for dinner one night too.

Looking forward to relaxing in our swim up room, sadly the first room was on a road and we were over looked by coaches and traffic, the hotel complex is split between a road quite busy! We moved the next day near the reception area again a little busy with cars and coaches dropping off! Sadly all 13 swim up rooms are in the shade! Only sun shows at 5pm on the pool so we couldn’t relax and sun bathe in the room. I wouldn’t bother with a swim up room. However we found it difficult to get a sun lounger by the main pool you have to be up early and sit on the bed to save it and we didn’t bother thank God we had a car to go to the local beach. The hotel food is good but difficult to book the alacart restaurants the day we arrived we tried to book and all at the end of the week, they lacked ambience very clinical and boring, no Italian music in the Italian restaurant no Greek music in the Greek or the Asian, you can only have wine or beer with those meals not cocktails which was annoying as they had all the drink at the bar! I don’t drink beer or wine! The staff work very hard and are friendly but this hotel is literally for social media! It’s soulless the only entertainment was in the small bar in the evening and it’s hard to get a seat and annoying people playing games when there were people who wanted to watch the singer/DJ. The swimnup rooms are also on the back of the car park and it’s noisy! Door are left open all night we had to keep closing the wind would bang against the fire extinguisher that was holding the door open! We were by the staff lift and again noisy (room 1212). The fridges in the room are so loud. I was disappointed they didn’t have soft drinks in the fridge only one bottle of water! Only one coffee capsule a day! It was an all inclusive! Such a shame we made the best of the week but sadly that’s because we went out most days and drove around Crete sitting by that fish bowl pool just filled me with dread it was boring!

We’ve been here 3 days and the hotel is stunning. Food is very good and varied. Staff very friendly. Drinks not branded unless you pay but cocktails are very good. Lots of choice. We’ve been unlucky with the weather so not much to do but surrounding villages are pretty. The coffee shop turns into a bar in the evening but it’s too small to accomdate everyone. The lobby bar is ok but very bright and not much atmosphere. Apart from that there’s really not much going on of an evening. Occasionally a violinist or something. My main negative is the swim up pool with sea view room that we paid a lot of money for. It’s freezing and unusable. Basically don’t bother. It’s a waste of money. Think it was £400 more to look at a pool, not use it! Just get a standard sea view room. Lots of missing tiles in the pool too which you would have expected to be fixed. Lovely hotel but just not sure would return and if it’s worth the money.

We had a good stay overall, but there are quite a few things that could be improved. In my opinion, it definitely doesn’t feel like a 5-star hotel or 5-star level of service. There were a lot of couples staying at the hotel, but unfortunately there weren’t enough sunbeds around the pool. There were also quite a few children screaming and playing around the pool, which didn’t really create the relaxing atmosphere that many couples were looking for. Perhaps the hotel could consider having one of the pools as an adults-only pool. The room wasn’t great, to be honest but it had a sea view . Our room was directly underneath the restaurant, and underneath our room was a loading bay where hotel deliveries were being made. This meant there was sometimes quite a bit of noise. The hotel itself was generally clean, but some of the sunbed mattresses definitely needed a good clean, as a few of them were quite dirty. The location is great if you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday, but there isn’t much to do around the hotel. This can be a bit of a problem on days when the weather is rainy or cloudy, as there aren’t many activities available at the hotel either. The fitness centre/gym was actually very good by hotel standards. You can comfortably do a full-body workout there, and the equipment is pretty decent for a hotel gym. The food was probably the highlight of our stay. It was consistently good, fresh and tasty throughout our visit, so big credit to the chefs! 👏🏻 There are also four à la carte restaurants that you can book through the hotel app. However, you can only book each restaurant once during your stay. This is a shame because if you really enjoyed one of the restaurants and wanted to go back for another meal, you aren’t able to book it again through the app. Overall, we had a good stay, but there are definitely areas where the hotel could improve. For me, the food and gym were the highlights, while the room location, pool area and some aspects of the service didn’t quite live up to the 5-star expectations.

Very disappointed with swim up not worth the extra money. Ours was started by 7 other rooms and shade all day never used it! Room is modern as it’s a fairly new hotel. Lovely food n Buffett al carte restaurants but hit and miss had to amend food back twice as it was stone cold! Staff work very hard and all very friendly. Would we stay here again unsure if I’m honest
