Grecotel Marine Palace & Aqua Park

Everything was good the food really delicious the staff really friendly and helpful i would totally recommend this hotel!

Spent 11 nights here, when the storms hit crete… and don’t get me wrong- was it the glorious tanning/pool/ experience I had in mind? No. Did I spend all my time in a pool or on the beach? No. Did I forget to pack a raincoat or anything remotely warm? Yes. But. If a hotel can still ensure you have a great time when 8/11 days are stormy and rainy? It’s a great choice. Staff- everyone was super friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. (Nadia in the main buffet hall was such an incredible person- super cheery and my little girl loved her) When the storms came, the upper management were visible, present and making sure everyone was okay and things were running smoothly. Facilities are great!! Loads of choices of pools, bars, places to eat, our room was spotless. There is an app and a WhatsApp that you can communicate with the concierge and literally if you need anything for your baby (ie high chairs/ pram/ bed rails) you can order them to your room!! There’s a small town maybe 10/15 min walk away, few great little bars and places to eat out. The atmosphere is super chilled, especially having breakfast looking out over the ocean (better without the rain pelting through the gaps in the shelters 🤣) Our kids were a little too young for the kids clubs and they were pooped before the discos so we sadly didn’t get to experience the nightlife. Honestly, I would come back in a heartbeat. There was a potential for the whole holiday to be a complete washout ( pardon the pun) with the horrific weather, but the staff honestly still made it a great trip to remember. Thank you!!

What a lovely hotel! The food is delicious and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The team at reception and the guest desk are so welcoming and kind. Manos was brilliant at helping us book tables in the à la carte restaurants – thank you!

Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our stay. We had expected a considerably higher standard and, based on our experience, we would not choose to return or recommend this hotel. The biggest issue for us was the misleading information regarding the restaurants included in the all-inclusive package. The information on the hotel’s website gave the impression that several of the restaurants on the resort were included. In reality, these restaurants were only included for one evening during our stay. We found this information very misleading and it affected our expectations of the all-inclusive experience. There were also several other issues during our stay: ● There was a misunderstanding regarding the transfer. The hotel was unable to see our side of the booking and was very insistent that we had made a booking that, according to our information, we had not made. Furthermore, transfers booked directly through the hotel were €50–70 more expensive per journey than booking with an external transfer company, which we found difficult to justify. This price difference was one of the reasons why we decided not to book the transfer directly through the hotel. ● Towels cannot be changed every day, and it was also difficult to find where towels could be exchanged on the resort. ● The indoor pool is not included in the stay. For our family of two adults and two children, using it would have cost €72. ● The water in the aqua park is not heated and was extremely cold, making it unsuitable for swimming, especially for young children. One section of the aqua park is also intended only for older children. As a result, there was no heated pool with slides or similar facilities where our younger children could comfortably play. ● Water was not replenished in our room, despite us requesting this and being told that it would be done. ● The music from the aqua park was very loud and continued until around 6 pm every day. Our room was in the nearby area and the noise was quite disturbing. Perhaps most disappointing was the general feeling of not being listened to as guests. When we raised concerns, we often felt that the starting point was that the guest was somehow at fault, rather than that the issue should be understood and resolved. We also did not feel that our complaints resulted in any meaningful attempt to improve the situation during our stay. Overall, we had expected considerably more from this hotel. Unfortunately, it is not a place we would return to or recommend to others.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! Everything was absolutely delicious, and we really enjoyed our time here as a family. A special thank you to our waitress, Eleni, who was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Great food, warm atmosphere, and excellent service. We truly enjoyed our evening and will definitely come back again!
