GRECOTEL Meli Palace

Grecotel offers amazing service to its guests. Every aspect of our stay at the resort was of the highest standard, starting with the reception, where we received a warm welcome and some refreshing drinks. The restaurant offers a huge variety of delicious and healthy meals, so we were never hungry or bored with the food. Our room was spacious, clean, and, most importantly, quiet, which was vital for us as we were travelling with a little baby. Speaking of children, Grecotel is a family-friendly resort with plenty of activities for kids of different ages. Another big advantage of this resort is that it has a private beach with sunbeds that are exclusively for guests. We are completely satisfied with our decision to stay at Grecotel and would definitely love to come back in the future.

We've stayed in another Grecotel in 2024, then another group in 2025, and back to Grecotel in 2026 : we wish we chose Grecotel in 2025 as well, as the experience is much better here ! It is fair to say that the room, and especially the bathroom, would need a refresh, but this did not affect our stay and we had one of our very best holidays at the Meli Palace. The welcome, the service offered at every occasion and level, the friendliness and attention of all the staff, the location (with the perfect sunsets every night !!), the entertainment, the swimming-pool, the activities team (darts and waterpolo on top !!), the bar tenders, the food and its quality, the drinks and their quality as well, the easy parking, everything was perfect. Most of all, we've met many people that we'll remember : many from staff of course, but also other customers and their kids, some of whom may become longterm friends (time will tell, but we shared great moments together, including a World Cup final !). The experience we had will be hard to beat as it was exactly what we needed at this moment : very attentive service, but relaxed at the same time, and 100%-enjoyable days from wake up to late nights. The worries we had turned out to be non-issues : only one big swimming-pool is OK, it is quite big, with 3-meter deep on one side, plenty of fun activities underwater, and we did not find it too crowded (stayed from 8 to 22 July). Fair to say that sometime you don't find any sunbed near the pool, but there are plenty on the grass and at the beach and it's workable. The hotel says they can find a solution but really, people are reserving sunbeds like in every hotel, only here this is a small hotel (approx 150 rooms) and it makes it more manageable. The location (we were looking for Elounda / Agios Nikolaos at the beginning) is perfect to explore Eastern Crete : Agios Nikolaos is not far, although roadworks can take a few more minutes, but having the sun set in front of the hotel every night was a huge plus ! Sissi is a very nice little town with bars and ice cream spot, perfect for a quick time out of the hotel. In the end, we had a great time and would hopefully come back, this says it all I guess.

My positive experience started at booking. I booked directly with the hotel, over the phone and they were great in giving us a nice quote for our stay. The hotel is just perfect and I wish we had stayed more. The staff is amazing, all very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. 10 out of 10 to the staff. The location is a bit isolated but perfect if you hire a car. The size of the hotel is great and no area is ever too crowded. Food was of good quality and variety. The private beach is a highlight. The pool is fabulous. Drinks were also great. The room is of a good size, despite being a bit dated it was comfortable and the cleaning, not only in the room but throughout the hotel, was impecable. One of the best hotels we stayed with fanily and definitelly the beat all inclusive. Highly recommend.

The most brilliant family holiday, we had to come again (This is our second time at Grecotel Melipalace)! The service and staff friendliness and professionalism is second to none. The facilities (pool, spa, kids club, etc) are of exceptional quality, & the food is fantastic & such a brilliant variety! Smiles and help is always on hand. Thank you to all the team!
