GRECOTEL Plaza Beach House

I had an excellent time here at Grecotel Plaza Beach House, 10/10 experience. It is located in Rethymno about a 35 minute walk from Old Town and the beach is across the street so it offers a beautiful view from their restaurant. I have so many wonderful things to say but I will start with the bartender Michael. He is extremely skilled at making drinks that are both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. He has a clear passion for what he does. He always engaged in conversation and was happy to explain different drinks to me and I really enjoyed the rapport we had. Also Kalliopi the receptionist is extremely friendly and approachable. She was extremely helpful in coordinating transportation for us and I really enjoyed talking to her. Finally, Theodoris the maître d’ was very warm and hospitable. He always made a point to come talk to us and was very kind. I will also mention that my boyfriend was sick overnight and they offered to make him soup and checked in with him throughout the day which really meant a lot. The hotel itself is beautiful and well kept, the room was spacious and the housekeepers did a very good job keeping our room clean throughout the week. I’d say you get your money’s worth for sure and the people were what made this stay so special. I definitely recommend this hotel.

This was a let down . We were given the best room in the property supposedly but all the rain water came onto the bedroom floors and it was messy. puddle to walk on . It gets embarrassing to call housekeeping every so often to clean up the puddles . The upstairs bedroom has no view . Only the main bedroom has the beach view . There was absolutley no entertainment at the hotel except outdoor table tennis Which couldn’t be used due to the rains . During low season It would have been nice to provide some activities and entertainment . Rooms didn’t have any booklet with info regarding activities or entertainment . The wifi doesn’t work without a boaster which the front desk doesn’t give by default . You have to ask For it . If they knew the WiFi isn’t great then why not provide it while checking in ? Would not recommend this esp for families with kids .

First I would like to recognize the staff members that stood out and made our vacation enjoyable..Kalliope (front desk ), Michalis (bartender), Mr Theo (maitre) , Vaso (server) and the household staff . The rooms were well stocked and cleaned..The great scenery and amenities compromised by the hotel perfect..Made it cozy and relaxing..The stay was better than we expected.. All areas were utilized kept us calm and relaxed..Big thanks to all the staff we encountered..

We went middle’s march and even in the off season it was amazing! The hotel right in front of a beautiful beach with turtles protection, comfortable rooms with AC and no noise at all, an amazing food service in the restaurant, with friendly, attentive staff and our cat friend Manoli!

Perfect location, lovely atmosphere, spacious rooms, very clean, quiet, excellent service from hotel personnel, good WiFi, sumptuous breakfast
