Ikaros Beach Resort & Spa

Just came back from a brilliant stay at this hotel. There are some really minor areas for improvement but overall we had a near perfect stay and would definitely recommend Positives Check in was super easy and efficient and despite some other reviews we found the reception staff really friendly and helpful. Wee were shown around the resort and your room (suite 552) by Niko who couldn’t have been friendlier! The room itself was incredible, the suites get access to the Ayeri restaurant unlimited times during the stay which makes is good about for money but the view and rooms alone are worth it if you can budget it. The room is huge with tonnes of storage, a huge powerful shower and a super comfy bed, not to mention the outside space, sun loungers, private plunge pool and unlimited views. The bottle of wine was a very nice touch. The resort itself is beautiful, well located to shops and towns nearby, so well designed it was nice to just walk around the resort and enjoy drinks in the bars. Maria at the Xxx bar was an absolute dream, always a smile on her face and could not do enough for you. She made the holiday so special. Ayeri evening- we ate at the Ayeri restaurant several times in the evening and it’s so worth it. Friendly staff who are efficient and helpful (special mention to Ayush!) the food is stunning (special mention to the beef tartare and Shi Drum fish dish which we had twice) and to enjoy that food and atmosphere whilst looking out to sea was really special. En Lenfko- the highlight of our holiday! Stavros was a perfect host, the atmosphere was chilled and relaxed and the food was exceptional- perfect from start to finish! Ammos Lunch- this isn’t included in the All Inclusive (see below) but is still worth it. Again a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff (thanks Alex) stunning beach views and delicious food and wine. What more do you need! Areas for improvement Ayeri breakfast- such a difference between the service in the evening!!! To begin with there was a male maitre de who ran this well however at some point he went off sick/leave and management left two junior staff who clearly struggled. We ate continental Here most days as service was just so slow. They ran out of cold water every day, half the toaster was broken throughout our stay, one day all the window tables were empty but waiting to be cleaned which took over an hour. On our last day we waited ten minutes to be offered a drink despite others coming in and being served first and it took about 25 after that for two poached eggs to arrive this is after struggling to get the female waitress to understand what “no salad” meant. A real shame and very frustrating. Pools- the “quiet pool” actually backs onto the main restaurant and so isn’t that quiet and the building itself starts casting shade from 12 onwards (only a problem if you’re sun seekers like us!) however whilst the main pool is gorgeous and the bar staff are lovely, they ran out of wine two days and there is a real problem of reserving sunbeds. Despite some reviews saying the pool staff monitor this, during our staff I pointed it out to pool staff and they said they couldn’t touch someone’s belongings. One day all the beds were taken by 9:30, I raised this with reception who handled it superbly, they sent the brilliant Niko down who cleared the beds but when a German group eventually turned up at 2:30 pm (5 hours later!!! ) They had the audacity to argue with us about their hotel towels being moved and we were left to argue with them that they needed to go to reception if they had a problem ( they didn’t) Ammos evening - after lunch being so good (see above) we went to Ammos on the all inclusive for an evening meal and sadly it was not the same, the atmosphere felt hurried and rushed with staff yelling at each other, the fish we ordered was a whole fish and despite asking for it to be filleted it was so full of bones it was inedible. The rush to clear tables meant the atmosphere felt like we couldn’t stay for dessert. All inclusive- as others have pointed out this is not a true all inclusive and as such it gets a bit confusing what is and isn’t included. It would be good if all restaurants were included especially at lunchtime where there is only the buffet option or nibbles by the pool. Sounds like alot but these are really small things that would have made this stay 100% perfect and it didn’t detract from the holiday at all. We highly recommend and can’t wait to come back

​What an incredible evening! While spending time at the hotel’s Daedalus seaside bar, we heard there would be a disco night with a DJ later on. We were a bit skeptical at first, as many hotels just assign an amateur animation team member and call it a "DJ night." However, this was on a whole different level. ​The DJ was a true professional who kept the energy high with an incredible set, and the entire crowd was on their feet dancing all night long. You really have to experience it to believe it! To top it all off, we ended the night by taking a spontaneous dip in the sea right off the hotel’s golden sandy beach—fully clothed! It truly felt like paradise. We feel so lucky to have been there!
