We arrived at the hotel as a family with children and babies after reading that it was half an hour from the airport and close to the city centre. We travelled in October, knowing the weather could be cool, but the hotel advertised heated pools and two large kids’ clubs, which were key reasons we chose it. When we arrived, we discovered that one of the kids’ clubs was closed for our entire five-day stay, and the supposedly “heated” pools were not warm at all. Some of the reception staff were pleasant, but others were unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. We booked three rooms. One was absolutely fine, but the other two had brown water coming out of the taps!!! When we complained to reception, they said they knew nothing about it and did not even send anyone to check. The hotel is actually a two-hour drive from Heraklion Airport and a 40-minute drive from Chania city centre. Every time you want to leave the hotel, you need a taxi or other transport. You are effectively stuck at the hotel unless you are prepared to spend a substantial additional amount on transportation. We also booked an all-inclusive holiday and paid accordingly. Upon arrival, we discovered that it was the worst all-inclusive package we had ever experienced. Only five cocktails and soft drinks were included, and the cocktails were cheap and tasted bad. Any drink outside those five cocktails cost extra. Other than that, there were absolutely NO additional all-inclusive benefits!!! Save your money! Do not book all-inclusive. When we tried to book a spa treatment, we were told that the next three days were fully booked, with no appointments available. We ended our holiday without being able to have a spa treatment and without the extra benefits we thought we had paid for with the all-inclusive package. Above all, and most importantly, be aware that there is a NATO training base near the hotel. During the day, we heard extremely loud bursts of gunfire and powerful explosions!!! If you have PTSD or have experienced traumatic events, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel! Overall, I would not recommend this hotel at all!!! Certainly not the all-inclusive package, and definitely do not expect it to be close to anything!

Kiani Beach Resort was just ok. It had some really nice features such as 3 different restaurants to choose from with lots of food options. Restaurants 2 and 3 had the best food and all the managers and staff were friendly. The market stayed open until 11pm and carried a variety of products like snacks, lots of souvenirs and clothing. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I had the room with private pool but was unable to use it because it was too chilly and rainy. The bed was way too firm for me so i had to sleep on the couch. Housekeeping was nice and kept us supplied with what we needed. I met some really wonderful staff that went above and beyond to make our stay nice. Muhammad at KBR3 and Mannie at the main building registration office. I did have some not so great experiences as well. We kept having issues with the keycard not opening our door which meant lots of back and forth from the room to the office to get it addressed. That happened 4 of the 7 days we were there. One of the maintenance men came into the room while I was in the shower, stood at the shower door and tried to talk to me about the keycard while I yelled repeatedly for him to get out. I reported the issue. They were very apologetic and bought dinner for us at the exclusive restaurant there to smooth things over, but contined to have him come back to the room to fix the issue with the door. Because it rained a lot and we weren't able to take advantage of excursions we wanted becausethey got canceled. We were kinda stuck at the resort. I don't think they had enough activities to entertain guests. Especially with the unexpected rain most days. We couldn't go to the beach or use the outdoor pools. The indoor pools were supposed to be heated but they were very cold. There are no parties or things like karaoke or things adults could do to have fun. Nobody wants to just be entertained by bingo and a magic show. We did take taxis to go out to other areas and that was really nice. Overall, my trip wasn't the greatest because of the cold and rain and that wasn't the resorts fault of course but I wish they could have had more options for scénarios such as this one. I wouldn't recommend this resort for a Greece experience.
