Lyttos Mare

A hotel that looks great, but when you pay attention to the details, you notice that it's “aging” and the pictures can fool you. We arrived knowing that there were rooms available facing the pool. However, we were told that the hotel was full (in October…). I've reviewed the hotel by department. ### Room We stayed in a family garden room (see pictures for the actual view, which was not a garden :-)) for 4 people. When you enter the room, you will find 2 beds, followed by a bathroom with a glass wall, and then a double bed. There is enough cupboard space, which is a plus. The glass wall of the bathroom… if you're sleeping and someone switches on the light in the bathroom, be prepared to be woken up by the light. For those with dust allergies, the lowered ceiling is a big collector of dust mites. The beds were good, a bit hard, but not bad. Shower: When the drain is blocked, the water comes out of the drain next to the toilet and floods the bathroom… The fridge is stocked with large bottles of water, another plus. All rooms are tiled, so don't expect quiet rooms next to you, because every chair that moves can be heard through the walls. Early mornings with beeping delivery trucks……because of our garden view room ha ha ha ### Breakfast Catered to tourists, with very little food from Crete. A shame. Otherwise, enough variety. Coffee at the bars is great!! My compliments to the bartenders!! They were friendly and attentive, as were the waiters! ### Lunch/snacks Same as breakfast, catered to tourists. What shocked me was that when we asked for a glass of wine, we were given a bottle. When I asked what happens to the wine that is not finished, we were told that it gets thrown away. No sense of environmental awareness. Snack restaurant: The nuggets were rock hard. The food was such a disappointment that we left almost as soon as we arrived. ### Dinner 4 choices, one of which comes at an additional fee. You need to reserve the Asian restaurant… even when it's empty. The Cretan restaurant: Food was nothing like what you would find in Crete. Buffet restaurant: Same as lunch/breakfast, but again, no traditional food. The menu says “beef” but does not tell you which cut of beef. When asked, the cook had to go and ask the chef and came back with “I think leg”… ### Pool/beach Beautiful pools, loved the setting, and the loungers were excellent! Enough space, but I wonder how it would be in the summer. ### Transportation to and from the hotel Great service, very helpful, and we were happy to have access to it. ### Overall condition of the hotel The hotel is getting rusty, probably as a result of being next to the sea. Tiles are loose all around the pool, and when it rains, the underground pathways are full of water.

We've just returned from an absolutely wonderful 7-night relaxing stay at Lyttos Mare, and we honestly couldn't fault a thing! After over three years without a family holiday abroad, this was a much-needed break, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Beautiful clean hotel, spacious room with seaview, great location & lovely surroundings in Analipsi on the beachfront with gorgeous weather and above all, outstanding staff who couldn't do enough for us. We also celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary during our stay, and the hotel made it extra special. From the thoughtful gluten-free anniversary cheesecake waiting in our room on arrival to the beautiful table decorations and balloons at the à la carte restaurant, the attention to detail was truly appreciated. Although this is now classed as a couples hotel they also cater for 12 years and over so plenty to do with that in mind from the beautiful range of salt water pools, daily activities to lively evening entertainment with some great shows performed. We made some wonderful family memories that we'll treasure forever. A huge thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable. Would we return? Absolutely, in a heartbeat! ❤️

Another incredible trip at Lyttos Mare made even more special by the wonderful staff at the main bar. Special thanks to Alexandra who is exceptional, so friendly and even helped me learn Greek! Can’t wait to come back.

I liked it very much it was really fun the animators where really friendly especially Gerda<3,Andras,”Magic Mike” and a really good DJ Hamid. I would like to come back again here!

Amazing hotel that exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed in sea front swim up room which was stunning . The staff are so friendly , food delicious and loads of choice with the different restaurants. Excellent cocktails, honestly cannot find a single fault in the place and will be back for sure ! Definitely recommend booking Lyttos Mare. We also played padel at the sports centre which was great fun
