Mary Hotel

Wonderful welcoming hotel in a perfect location in that part of Crete. Very close to many tavernas, bars and shops also easy access to the main highway if you hire a car. The hotel has 2 reasonable sized pools with sun loungers plus a well-stocked bar with excellent barman. Our 1 bedroom apartment was incredibly spacious and although we didn’t cook there were enough utensils and pans if you wanted to. Overall cannot recommend highly enough and if we holiday there again will return to this hotel.

We got back last week after a fantastic 10 night stay at this wonderful hotel. Perfect location for beach, restaurants, bars and shops. Although the hotel has a welcoming bar and seating area with occasional entertainment. Rooms were beautiful and exceptionally clean. Lovely breakfasts each morning with lots of choice and all beautifully fresh. Lovely pool areas without sunbed wars. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel and would definitely recommend to friends and family. Finally the people that make this hotel so special are the wonderful owners and staff. From George the barman, George, Joanna and the other lady on Reception and the laughs we had with Kostas. Not forgetting the lovely Mama and Papa. We had an absolutely brilliant stay at the Mary Hotel & Mary Royal Suites and we will definitely be returning. Everything was as described by previous guests, but the standout aspects for us where: - great staff, especially George on reception who was a great resource for information and recommendations. - outstanding and original cocktails. - ideal and quiet location for Rethymno, the beach and a great selection of restaurants within a few minutes walk. - always plenty of sunbeds. - rooms were very clean and well appointed. Overall a fabulous hotel in a fabulous location.

We really enjoyed our stay in the split level suite. Spacious, clean and modern. The hotel is located close to the beach and restaurants and shops. Really peaceful and always plenty of loungers around the pool. Staff were very friendly and the pool side snacks also very good. Cocktails were exceptional. Would definitely recommend. Look forward to returning soon.

Review The loveliest, most calming stay we’ve had in Greece. The hotel is a few minutes walk to a beautiful sandy beach (the sea gets deep quickly so be prepared). Up the road, another few minutes walk, is the main road with a multitude of restaurants, bars and tourist shops. The hotel itself is lovely. You can either book a modern studio or a traditional apartment, which we opted for and suited us well. It’s self catering and had a double induction hob with an under counter fridge freezer. There’s a water dispenser in reception. There’s three pools, which gets sun throughout the day and they are always spare sunbeds. There’s also a gym, a free pool table and a PlayStation. The hotel bar offers delicious cocktails and drinks until late and serves tasty snacks throughout the day. The staff of what truly makes this hotel a gem. The bar man, Giorgios, is a true mixologist and the nicest guy we met on our stay - he couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome and at home and his cocktail recipes are incredible. Mr George on reception is also a diamond, along with Manuel on the night team. They also hire entertainment a few nights a week, we particularly enjoyed the Greek dancing from Olga, Kristos and Kristos. I can’t recommend the hotel enough for a calm break away, it truly offers everything you could need. Minutes from a nearby ‘strip’ and only ten euro for a taxi into Rethymnon (or 1/2 euro pp for a bus). We will definitely be back!
