Oros Luxury Beach Resort

My wife and I stayed at Oros Luxury Beach Resort for a week on our honeymoon. We chose it for a relaxing, luxurious stay and paid accordingly. Unfortunately, several parts of the experience fell short of our expectations. We paid extra for a room with a private pool, but the water was extremely cold. The main pool was cold as well. Surrounding buildings also blocked direct sunlight from our private pool for much of the day, so we barely used the feature we had specifically paid for. The jacuzzi was not nearly as warm as we expected, either. Breakfast had a limited selection, particularly of cheeses. We were also disappointed that the €40-per-person dinner did not include drinks, which were charged separately. One morning at around 8:00 AM, an employee opened our room door without knocking. He did not fully enter, but waking up to someone opening the door was unsettling. We also found ants inside our room and encountered many insects around the resort. Most of our interactions with reception felt cold rather than welcoming. The most frustrating issue was the airport transfer. We booked and paid €130 through the hotel. Our booking confirmation described it as “your journey to and from the resort,” with the charge listed as “Per stay.” The transfer to the hotel went smoothly, but the driver asked us to pay again for the return journey. At checkout, we had asked reception whether we owed anything further and were told that everything was settled. Afterwards, the hotel told us that the €130 covered only a one-way transfer. We pointed out the wording in our confirmation several times, but the hotel declined to reimburse the additional amount we paid. Regardless of how the misunderstanding arose, we expected the hotel to address the discrepancy in its written confirmation fairly. The resort has beautiful aspects, and we genuinely hoped to enjoy our stay. But the cold pools, limited use of our private pool, room and service issues, and especially the handling of the transfer made this a disappointing honeymoon experience for the price we paid.

Thank you so much for a wonderful spa treatment, 10/10. We were lucky enough to have the large room for a couples massage which included the steam room too! 70 minutes of pure bliss and we went for the Cretan massage in the menu. All tailored to the pressure we wanted and worked on our trigger points. We also snuck in a private sauna session at the end that you can book free of charge! Thanks to Eugenia and Nikos who were our therapists and an extra special thank you to Gogo and Lea who have just been wonderful! They’ve even helped us as we had forgotten our clippers and trimmed our beards for us, top customer service. Gogo and Lea also gave us restaurant recommendations and called friends to get us a table at the lovely restaurant Prima Plora in Rethymno. We will be back! Thank you. David & Marcus

Great 5 star hotel , great staff and lovely beach . what more does one want ?

There isn’t enough stars to rate this place if I could give it 100000000 stars I would, You cannot fault anything here, me and my family stayed for 10 nights but we wish we booked 3 weeks minimum but we will be returning next year. The staff are amazing and so helpful and kind, we have made friends for life. The food quality and restaurants are exceptional beyond anything you will find here in the u.k and the internet they use are of the highest quality and can taste how real and fresh everything is. The facilities are beautiful and the beach is amazing. The room was perfect, we had a family suite with our own pool which was beautiful with a sea front view. For somewhere so high quality we would pay more than what we did for the experience we had. Thank you very much for making our stay so special. See you next year
