Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort

It’s a nice looking resort but several things let this hotel down if they want to market and price this as a five star hotel. Service in the restaurant is poor - we were constantly having to clear our own plates to the end of the table and serve own coffee etc There is no option to switch your half board option to lunchtime rather than evening. Other restaurant options on the complex are expensive and if on a HB package they only allow you a small €24 contribution towards your meal. That was about the price of a starter or small plate. Not the hotel for night life with young people - it’s really quiet in the evenings - bars just had a handful of people in, no live music or entertainment during our stay. I think everyone goes out or to bed with young children. It will cost €12-15 in a taxi each way to town. There is no daytime program of activities made readily available to guests. If there was we missed it. Watersports are hugely overpriced. Pools - there are few pools advertised in booking photos but in reality only one pool Is available to guests. It’s fair but pretty small. We checked this at reception who confirmed the pool shown with slides is really only for the kids club and the spa pool only for guests at the spa. A typical massage will cost you around €250. Towels ran out by the pool three times while we were there. They just left guests waiting - it’s really not 5* service, No one explained to us that we could visit the sister resort by boat - in fact on asking at reception we were told that this would have to be a special request and only if they had availability. Overall a disappointing trip particularly for young people and it’s not cheap!! Even more disappointing was the hotel response to our feedback which was very defensive rather than trying to put things right for us. I fully expect the same response to this review.

Excellent time at this hotel! The location is stunning, with beautiful grounds and fantastic views. The food is varied and delicious with a good range of meat, fish and wonderful vegetable concoctions! The staff are friendly including the hotel manager and head chef who chatted with us and answered our questions, creating a welcoming environment. The spa facilities are fantastic - a very relaxing place to spend a few hours. Overall, we felt comfortable and very well looked after by the room servicing and restaurant staff. We would highly recommend this hotel. Enjoy!

We are into our 3rd day at this hotel, the rooms and views are stunning and very nicely maintained, we are on a weeks half board holiday! The dining experience so far has let down the hotels 5 star rating, we are a family of various allergies and are having to work hard to get across what we can and can't eat. But more to the point at Breakfast we are continuously running out of water, dishes and glasses, the coffee machines are intermittently working and staff reaction is average. On introduction to the Hotel we eere advised that everything in the fridge is free apart from wine! 3 days in we find this information is incorrect. Prices here for most things are high end, eg a round of golf for 9 holes on a pitch and putt 50 Euros. A bottle of water for evening meal 6.50 euros, so definitely aimed at bery high end customers Nice hotel but wouldn't recommend as dining experience has disappointed! Just our opinion!

What a beautiful place! I’ll start off by saying the staff was amazing, before we arrived I asked concierge if they could help me book dinners at there sister locations and regarding a few excursions… they got back to me right away and after a few back and fourths because times didn’t work with us because of our toddler they made sure to get us in. They also arranged private car transfer to pick us up from airport. The premises is breathtaking and soooo clean! The food is very good but could be better. The kids club staff was also very friendly and the Pilates and sound healing classes were amazing. Such a beautiful stay. We will definitely be back!

We came here with another family wanting a relaxing break in the sunshine. The hotel refurbished rooms were great, big bathrooms and lots of storage. The housekeeping were amazing, our room was done without fail before lunchtime each day allowing us to go for an afternoon nap if needed! The buffet for breakfast and dinner was never too busy, especially if you go earlier than peak times. Never a problem getting a sun bed by the pool, even in school holidays. We went out to eat a few nights in Elounda and Plaka which is a nice change of scene. Overall, very nice, chilled family holiday.
