Porto Platanias Village Resort

Thought I would share a review after reading a few negative ones. If reading this thinking of booking please do not hesitate. I stayed at this hotel with family ( 2 adults 2 teenagers 13 & 16). Had a great time. Hotel was everything we could have wished for. The location was fab. Close to the beach. Food was nice. Our room was at the back of hotel behind the reception building. On arrival we felt very out the way and knew we had no view of the pool or sea however we soon got used to it. Felt secluded in a good way. Our room was really nice. Always cleaned daily. Fresh towels and loo roll every day. They did a great job. Especially in the heat. The cost was.more than we originally planned to spend but glad we did. Crete is beautiful. The negatives The only issues we had was some noise for several days from the room above. Scrapping of furniture early every morning. Maybe some sound proofing is needed. For the 1st few days dinner was sometimes a.little cold for certain food, such as chicken and fish. Still ate them but wished they were still hot. Would def recommend.

This hotel does not meet the standards of a 5-star property. The rooms do not provide shampoo or conditioner. The third guest in the room is expected to sleep on an old sofa bed with a very hard mattress. The pillows are worn out and lumpy. On one occasion, a scorpion got into our room, which was very concerning. Guests who have only the Half Board (HB) package seem to be treated unfairly and are not allowed to use the water park. Although the hotel description states that the water park is free of charge, guests are asked to pay extra to use it. Drinks at dinner are not included and must be paid for separately. There is no coffee machine, and coffee is served from large kettles, which makes it far from enjoyable. Every time you want to enter the restaurant, you have to stand in a queue because guests are required to provide their room number, after which they are assigned a table. Overall, the hotel experience was disappointing and did not reflect the quality expected from a 5-star hotel.

No feel of the real Crete here. Very much a money making hotel. Everything is extra. Choose a smaller hotel and you will get a much better experience. Pool tiles missing in kids pool...pay for water park and adults have to pay to watch kids ..car parking extra..towels extra..food was ok but repetitive. Location is excellent and we had a very nice room. I’d say it’s not great value for money personally. Not much atmosphere overall..everything happens over the road in the posh side

Lovely resort on a fine location. Nice pool area and a fun little waterpark with four slides. Be prepared to pay a quite large entrance fee to the small waterpark (15e/person). Very basic breakfast with super friendly staff. Pack your earplugs if you are a light sleeper, for you will be able to hear all the noises happening outside your room loud and clear. This didn’t bother others in our party since I was the only super light sleeper, though :)

What a vacation. The watergym guy Dimitar WOW WHAT A GUY, he was so friendly, a master at darts and shuffleboard. Would recomend this place for everyone. The food was good, The place was nice, the bartender was perfect, especially Stavros. The rooms were clean and cozy, I will definetly come back.
