Seaside A Lifestyle Resort

This is one of my most favourite hotels.. just recently returned after a fabulous week of total relaxation.. this is our 6th visit returning after a 3 year gap .. lovely warm welcome from hotel staff who remembered us .. quite a few changes in the last 3 years .. didn’t think this hotel could be any better but it was .. it really is my happy place 🥰 in the process of trying to sweet talk my darling hubby to book it for next October for my Christmas present 🎁 fingers crossed.. honestly anyone planning a holiday here will not be disappointed

We stayed at the hotel in the second half of September. It is beautifully situated, with breathtaking views from every spot—this is its greatest asset. The food is good and varied, the desserts are delicious, and the drinks are well-made. We stayed in a suite with a private pool; unfortunately, it was unusable during our visit because the water was extremely cold. The pool was located at the back of the terrace, right next to the bedroom door (which made stepping out from the bedroom onto the terrace rather inconvenient), and since it wasn't heated and remained in the shade the entire time, it stayed freezing. Another drawback was the lack of sufficient lighting in the room. Overall, however, it was a successful stay, and we would recommend the hotel for its truly beautiful views.

This will probably be one of my more lengthy reviews I have written, because I want to try to cover all basis to give other people the most accurate experience we had....so bare with me We arrived late on a Monday evening due to our flight times, on arrival we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist. Check in was smooth and we were also invited to make use of the dining room for a light bite. We were happy with this due to a 4+hour flight etc. We had a quick bite to eat - there was some cold cuts, cheese, salad and bread available plus water or fresh orange juice. On our return to reception a golf buggy was used to take us to our room. Because we arrived at night, I didnt get to see our view. But when I woke in the morning to say I was gobsmacked at how breath taking our view from our room was is an understatement - we were in one of the cape suites Room 508. (See photos) Our first morning we walked down to the buffet restaurant for breakfast - the variety and choices avaliable was HUGE. We loved the food. Infact our entire 7 day stay we did not avail of any of the alacarte restaurants, even though we could have had a free meal in each of them- this was due to us being so impressed with the variety, taste and quality of the buffet food available every day. The staff is the buffet restaurant were lovely also, so attentive and so friendly at all times. And so hard working also. SIDE NOTE - THE DESSERTS ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!!! I have lost 8 and a half stone in the past 16 months and feel like I have gained half of it back on this week. Each night we made use of the Panorama Bar. Can I just say the staff in here were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!! These men worked so hard every night we were there. Remembering our drinks from the off set and just constantly on the ball working. So attentive to the residents, so friendly and so impressive. A special mention to Iken/Ikin - I apologise if I have spelt his name wrong. But this guy is such a valuable asset to Seaside resort. He is FANTASTIC at what he does!!!!!!! Literally worth his weight in gold! We didnt particularly enjoy the entertainment all week - until the disco/party on the sunday night which we absolutely loved. The floor was filled with lots of people dancing who also seemed to be enjoying it also - apart from 3 women who were sitting together and asked for the music to be turned down literally ridiculous to even ask this.....It was a disco? I am not saying the entertainment was bad the rest of the week - just not to our preference. The whole resort is so clean, the facilities are fantastic also. I have seen people write negative reviews on their experience but honestly this place was so tranquil, their attention to detail is meticulous and we really felt like we experienced a week of luxury. The house keeping staff are absolutely fantastic at their job!!!! The hotel is unbelievably clean. Our room each day was immaculate. There is a beach just down from the hotel - with a private stairway down to it. I swam in the sea 3 out of our 7 days. Crystal clear waters, so clear you could actually see hundreds of fish which I thought might freak me out, but it was beautiful! The nearest town/village is around a 20-30minute walk away. This walk is very hilly/with steps etc. So if mobility is an issue, I would not do it. And also the resort itself is very hilly with steps etc - so the same applies here. There a bus which runs to Heraklion which goes from just outside the door of reception. It is only €4.40 each way and the scenery enroute is beautiful. If I could give one bit of advice - when you arrive at Herklion go into the station to one of the self service screens and book your return ticket and put it somewhere safe. Just to guarantee you definitely have travel back. The room itself was comfy and cosy. The beds were nice to sleep in, there was an air-conditioning unit, safe, toiletries and a hair dryer. And plenty of socket outlets. Room 508 was close to the pool bar and only a 5 minute walk away from the buffet restaurant which was great. Unfortunately during our stay, another guest who had clearly made excessive use of the all inclusive drinks during the day decided to sit on our steps and urinate. I rang reception to explain the situation and it was sorted straight away. The hotel was so apologetic, they also brought us some bubbles and a fruit platter and offered a meal in one of their prestige restaurants by way of apology. This was massively appreciated but completely unnecessary. It was not the hotels fault this man decided to this and we explained that to them. They should not have felt responsible for his actions or tried to make amends for them at all. It was a lovely gesture all the same. We didnt avail of the dining offer because we were so impressed with the buffet restaurant all week. But thanked them all the same. There is also a shop on site which sells basics, snacks and some gifts. It wasnt badly priced. To summarise it....All in all we have had the most fantastic week in a beautiful resort with the most friendly, welcoming staff There are ALOT of cats around but they are friendly too If I was to offer any criticism at all on our stay, it would just be that there isnt enough storage/hangers for both of our clothes. My partner had to live out of his suitcase for the week and I took the wardrobe facilities. And in our shower you had to continually hold the button in for the shower above the head - which was a little annoying. But not enough to put me off coming back. Thats the only 2 things which I could have offered any kind of negative opinion on the whole week - and it isnt even enough of an annoyance for me to mark down the score. I just wanted to be completely transparent with my review. And finally - no reflection of the resort but just a tip for other holiday makers. The mosquitos are HUNGRY. Bring a good repellent if you are susceptible to bites. Ps the swim up pool is not heated in the Cape Suites - and is icy cold. Just to make anyone who is booking it aware

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The food is absolutely delicious really good mix of meats and fish, Propa salads which included sweet potato orzo leaves cheese walnuts oranges truly amazing! The staff are hilarious in the main bar and super lovely they remember every drink you try and keep you topped up The facilities are perfect comfy sun beds and no wars! Beautiful pools and chilled atmosphere The only aspect is criticize is that the spa is 40pp for the whole day no treatments included and it’s quite cold in there and the pool is freezing with just a sauna and steam room. There is a beach close by with a lovely scenic walk and a bus that will take you into Heraklion too for just 4 euro They have 3 à la carted and it’s some of the best food I have ever eaten. Myself and my partner have eaten at Michelin stared restaurants and oceano and umi top these for us! Best holiday we have ever had and I’d love to return

Stunning resort, it’s like a little village. The views are spectacular with the resort being built in a cliff. In October we got the sunrise around 7am coming up from land in front of the resort and sun passing over the mountain around 6:30pm - absolutely stunning skies. Main restaurant has a huge selection and really good quality at breakfast lunch and dinner. À la carte restaurants are stunning we specially really enjoyed Umi and Oceana. The resort shares some of the facilities with the sister hotel Acro and I enjoyed Yoga and Meditation in the Yoga shala which overlooks the mountain and sea which is stunning. You can get a bus outside of the resort to go into town 4.40 per person each way. It took around an hour. Taxi is around €40. ALL staff were lovely and friendly. Overall stunning place and experience one of the best resorts we have stayed at.
