Semiramis

Been to Crete many times but it was the first time on my own. After reading the good & bad reviews I was a little worried but kept an open mind. I know people have said its not worth the 4* but i have stayed in plenty of 3* & they were alot worse. Yes the rooms are dated but mine was clean & no ants. My room was large with a nice bathroom with shower screen not those horrible curtains that are full of bacteria. The bed was very comfortable & I had a great sleep everynight. Free air-conditioning was a blessing. The maids cleaned the room daily & changed the towels every couple of days. As a single female I felt very safe. It did not bother me that there was little to do outside the hotel as I went to just chill. There are 2 supermarkets at the bottom of the steep hill for anything you run out of. It tells you that the hotel is in the hills, you do have great views. You can get a taxi into town for 10 euros where there is plenty of bars, shops & restaurants. I loved the breeze that you got all day long. The staff were lovely & worked very hard. I did not have any issues with the food. There was always something I liked. I do think it would be good if they included some cocktails as part of the all inclusive. There were always plenty of sun loungers. I would definitely go back.

My sister and I had such a lovely experience at the spa. We both had a facial treatment and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming, friendly and professional, which made us feel completely at ease. The facial was so relaxing and felt incredibly luxurious. We both left feeling refreshed, relaxed and with our skin feeling amazing. The whole experience was just what we needed and it was lovely being able to enjoy it together. We would definitely recommend the spa and will absolutely be coming back for another treatment. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

I like to class myself as very open minded and im willing to give anything a chance, even if it has negative reviews. However, I will be taking negative reviews more seriously from now on. This resort is terrible. The bathroom drains release an awful sewage smell every time you shower or flush the toilet. The smell even comes up through the sink when youre washing your hands or brushing your teeth. Ants were coming up from the drain in the bathroom and also saw a few scuttling around in the bedroom too, despite us never leaving the balcony door open. The hotel itself is up a steep hill, which isn't so bad unless you want to be walking at a 50⁰ angle in 28⁰ heat. Its also on the outskirts of Hersonissos, a 30 minute walk each way to any restaurant which you WILL need to visit, as the food is absolutely shocking. The variety is poor, and there's minimal selection at the best of times. The only positive of the food is the fruit, which has been one of the very few palatable things so far. I would absolutely not class this as a four star resort. A two star at a PUSH. There's no entertainment in the evening, the atmosphere in general is depressing as there's nothing to do except sunbathe and listen to the terrible music being blasted over the speakers. As far as noisiness goes, the noise level isn't too bad. You can hear people shouting down the corridors etc but i understand thats nothing to do with the hotel, and more the sheer volume of people's voices. This is our first time in Crete, our first time in Greece, and whilst we will return, it will NOT be to Semiramis Village Hotel. Even if someone paid for us to come here again, we would not return.
