Silva Beach

This is listed as a 4* hotel. Not a chance, this is more like a 2.5 to 3* hotel. First the rooms, no real cups for your drinks, only paper cups. Only 2 little milks per day and 2 teabags and 2 sachets of coffee so not enough milk to make those 4 drinks in your room. No double beds, it was 2 singles pushed together but because of the smooth floor they constantly drifted apart leaving a gap to fall down. Also, there is a safe in the wardrobe but it costs 3 euros a day to use it Now for the main restaurant. There is a lot of choice for all 3 meals every day but, it's all only warm. In 7 days we didn't get a single " hot" meal. The whole resort is not good for people with disabilities. Steep slopes or steps to negotiate on cobbled tiles. Tiles in the lobby, around the pools etc that when wet are deadly slippery. We witnessed a lady who had slipped in the lobby on wet tiles and had really banged her head badly. The staffs responses were a bit, " she should take more care". She was very elderly. The bar staff, restaurant staff, hotel staff and especially the room maids/cleaners were lovely, professional, friendly people but the rooms, food and facilities fell a long way short of a 4 star hotel.

Silva Beach Hotel The hotel is in a nice position in Hersonissos Crete close to the shop’s coffees and tavernas you have it all on your door step. Now few thinks about the hotel, start with the rooms, rooms they are ok not bad size but they need little upgrade, beds comfy pillows same no problem, there is a fridge and kettle in the room with daily supply tea coffee, nice big shower room plenty hot water the only problem is the cleaners need to do better job this is my only complain not very happy with cleaning. Bars and restaurants there is a beach bar with a good size pool next to the sea, main bar with a big pool good drinks and after 4 o’clock serving refreshments also there is a quite bar open in the night by the reception. There is the main restaurant with I will say very good food but not much of variety also there in the same room is another Chinese restaurant so you have a option, also there is a Mexican and Italian restaurant’s I recommend both of them delicious food. Hotel build in a little slop area no lifts with limited disable access, there is a good entertainment take place every day happy with that if you book for this hotel try to avoid the 500 numbered rooms as they are close to the delivery area and some noise take place in the morning. Reception was very good and fast the check in happy to help at all the times 2 issues I have they shorted with minutes. Staff very happy and very helpful I want to thank Lefteris in the restaurant for the good service and my new good friend in the bar Zachos big thanks for the good service to both grew in the Italian and Mexican restaurants. The hotel is close to the sea there is a small cove with few steps to go down and a little sandy beach and another beach next but it’s stones inside not for kids. PS it’s a train do trips around Hersonissos not recommended for the full ride it’s a total waste of money and time.

The positives - the majority of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy, bathroom a bit dated but fine overall. Shower was powerful and hot! Bed was very comfortable and we had a lovely balcony. Room was cleaned and restocked with toilet paper and towels every day. We easily got a sun bed whenever we wanted one, at whatever time of day, and both pools were very clean. The food was excellent, lots of different choices every day and we were very happy. The layout of the hotel in the village feel is wonderful. We had a couples massage at the spa which was fabulous and would highly recommend. Easy location to walk into the nightlife and to water sports activities down on the beach; we went parasailing! Short walking distance into beautiful Koutouloufari. The negatives - we were on the far right side of the hotel, right next to the bar and entertainment. Loud, loud, loud until 11pm every night. We were then woken up every morning, without fail, by trucks and banging between 6.30-7.30am due to being above what I assume is the delivery entrance for the hotel. It felt like my sleep hours were dictated due to the noise! I bought ear plugs in the end which helped. If I returned, I would know to request a room away from the bar and on the left hand side of the hotel!! I would say the pros outweigh the cons and probably would return. Not a criticism of the hotel, obviously, but the average customer seems to be aged 55+.. not much of a younger crowd, and the veterans love to get their set places at the bar of an evening.. IYKYK 😏

Had a great meal at the Italian restaurant within the complex . The food was very nice and lovely to be served by happy staff. We were absolutely stuffed after the started for two but did manage to eat most of our delicious pizza. The wine was flowing and the ambiance was perfect . Thank you so much

Yet again a great experience at the Silva Beach Hotel. Lovely to see lots of returning guests too. The Hotel is being refurbished, so we look forward to seeing it when complete. The rooms are clean and well maintained by the staff. The pools are good and usually at this time of year there are sunbeds available. The food has always been good but this year was better than previous. If I had to criticise, the animation team could be better, one guy didn't do much, the other worked hard.
