Paradise! Ignore any negative reviews — on arrival at Stella Island, I honestly thought I was in heaven! The resort is absolutely beautiful, and Anastasia and her team in Reception go above and beyond to make sure you have a fantastic holiday from the moment you arrive. We arrived on August 14th for 11 nights (which definitely wasn’t long enough!). Where do I even begin? Our room and the staff We were situated near the Umbra Bar, and my husband and I were treated like royalty by the fabulous team looking after that area. A huge shout-out to Natasa, Maria, Gilman and Philipos. They truly went above and beyond and played such a huge part in making our holiday so special. I honestly cried when it was time to say goodbye to them! The food and dining experiences Stella Island has six restaurants, five of which are à la carte, and we enjoyed every single dining experience. Kimata – The buffet restaurant with a fantastic choice of food. There was always plenty of variety, and everything was beautifully presented. Oceania – Another lovely dining experience with delicious food and excellent service. Vegera Taverna – Outstanding Greek food in a beautiful setting. We had lunch and dinner here, and the moussaka was honestly the best I have ever eaten! Umami – Japanese cuisine that was absolutely excellent. The food and service were both fantastic. Paraiso – Mexican food at its best! This is also where the main entertainment takes place. We went three times, and the entertainment was outstanding every time. La Parrilla – A steak restaurant serving, without a doubt, the best steaks we have ever had! We ate here daily for lunch and also had breakfast here as it was much quieter than the buffet. Both the food and service were outstanding. Isla – Wow, wow, WOW! Our waiter was exceptional, and the food was probably some of the best we had during our entire stay. A truly special dining experience. Ice Cream Parlour – Delicious ice cream, which is made right there at the hotel. The perfect treat! A huge shout-out also to Konstantina and her team at the Cabana Bar. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they were always so friendly and attentive. The beach Stella Island has its own section of beach, and once again, nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff were fantastic and always happy to help. The town The nearby town is definitely worth a visit, with plenty of lovely restaurants and shops. It’s a great place to wander around and explore. Gym I also have to mention the gym, which was honestly one of the best-equipped hotel gyms I have ever used. The equipment was top of the range, with an excellent selection of machines and everything you could need for a proper workout while on holiday. It was a real bonus and showed the attention to detail that Stella Island puts into the whole experience. Would I go back to Stella Island? Absolutely! Without a doubt. I’m sorry I can’t name every single member of staff because, honestly, they were all amazing. Every person we encountered helped make our holiday so memorable. And finally, a huge thank you to our cleaner, who kept our room absolutely spotless throughout our stay. Stella Island really is a little piece of paradise, and we cannot wait to return!

Stella Island in Crete is nothing short of exceptional. From the moment you arrive, the service is exemplary — warm, attentive, and delivered with genuine care. The design of the hotel is lush and elegant. If pure relaxation is what you’re seeking, there is simply no better place to go. It’s the most relaxed we have been in years. Every detail is designed to help you unwind, and the staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is effortless and unforgettable. Having a overwater bungalow with the pool just out of your room is ideal for a lazy relaxing holiday. We left feeling refreshed, valued, and already excited for our next visit. We will be back.

Our stay at Stella Island was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome, and the level of hospitality and attention to detail throughout the resort was exceptional. It genuinely felt like a place where every member of staff wanted to make your holiday special. Our swim-up room was amazing and made the experience even more relaxing. It was beautifully maintained every day, and we have to give a special mention to Yvonne, who cleaned our room to such an incredibly high standard. She was always so lovely, and the room was specially clean every single day. Coming back to such a beautifully presented room was a real pleasure. A huge thank you also goes to George, who filled our minibar every day. He was such a lovely person and always went about his work with a smile. These little touches really make a difference. Around the pool, Bibet deserves a very special mention. He was genuinely one of the kindest and most lovely people we met during our entire stay. He looked after us with drinks around the pool and would also clear our glasses during the evening entertainment. His warmth and kindness really stood out to us, and he is a credit to Stella Island. We also had fantastic service at Makuti Bar, particularly from Lena, whose service was amazing. She was friendly, attentive and always made us feel so welcome. The entertainment every night was sensational. There was such a brilliant atmosphere around the resort, and we particularly loved the dancers. They were incredibly talented, but what made it even more special was how lovely and approachable they were when we chatted to them. They really helped create the wonderful atmosphere throughout the evenings. The food across the resort was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed eating at all of the restaurants, but Oceania and Umami were particular highlights for us. The quality, variety and presentation of the food were fantastic, and there was always something to look forward to. Another lovely touch was the buggy service around the resort. Whenever we were tired or didn’t fancy the walk, the buggy drivers were always so friendly and happy to take us wherever we needed to go. Such a simple service, but it made getting around the resort effortless. The hospitality extended everywhere — from the reception team, who were always helpful and welcoming, to the White Store, where we always received great service. We also absolutely loved the saxophone being played during breakfast. It was such a beautiful touch and made breakfast feel like a real occasion. And finally, the spa and massages were amazing. They were exactly what we needed during our stay and added another level of relaxation to an already incredible holiday. We came to Stella Island for our honeymoon and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The beautiful swim-up room, incredible food, amazing entertainment, fantastic facilities and, most importantly, the genuinely kind and welcoming staff made this a holiday we will remember forever. A massive thank you to Bibet, Lena, George, Yvonne, the buggy drivers, the reception team, the entertainment team and every single member of staff who made our stay so special. As the holiday comes to an end tomorrow, I have to talk about the hotel. It’s not to brag but to highlight how amazing this place is and to pass on this recommendation. We came here as a treat to celebrate our 25 year wedding anniversary. And what a treat it has been. Yes it was rather expensive to book but we have not spent a penny since being here. First night we arrived late and missed dinner. We were told we could have room service for free, which is usually an includes tray charge of €8 but all food included in the all inclusive deal. We asked for a couple of meals and a salad and a glass of wine each, oh and a few deserts. They quickly brought us our food and 2 bottle of an amazing wine. This was our introduction to really amazing food. We have more or less been to all 7 restaurants and each time mentioned how the dish was the best we have ever tasted. Even in the Buffett. All dishes range from € 25- €70 depending what you want. Best go all inclusive then it’s all free. If you’re looking to trek around the island, you can do so but we liked the hotel so much we stayed there apart from the odd walk along the coast. Staff can be a bit slow but that’s coming from a Londoner so I need to chill out.. It’s probably the only hotel I would come back for a repeat visit. It has been so nice to just do nothing, talk to each other and forget about any stress. That will meet us on our return back home. The only not so good thing is the nightly show with heavy sexualised dancing, however I am an adult and can just walk to the other bars and not watch. So if that’s not your thing, don’t watch. There are lots of negative comments about this. I can’t see the issue just leave!!! Anyway if you want a treat look into Stella island. One word “Amazing”.
