Stella Island Luxury Resort & Spa

A fantastic 5 days of bliss, the hotel, choice of dining and above all the curtesy and fun with the staff was exemplary, we were truly spoilt, thank you and will be back. John & Tina

On the positive side, the hotel property is beautiful, in new condition and well-maintained. The design of the pool complex and rooms is very well done and achieves the “Wow” factor. There is also a sufficient amount of staff, who are energetic, friendly and eager to provide a high level of service. The hotel is located not far from Heraklion/Knossos. The biggest negative in my view is that the water in the vast outdoor pool complex is not heated and was far too cold to swim in, in April, despite weather being sunny and mild. There is an indoor heated pool advertised, but it is more of a plunge pool in the spa, you have to book it in advance, and in any case the heating was not working when we were there. Also, the immediate area around the hotel is not nice. There is an adjacent small village which is all concrete and no charm and jam packed with cars and traffic, and the seaside area is not nice. I suppose if you do an all-inclusive package and don’t leave the hotel, this is not a concern, but if returning to Crete I would choose a hotel in a better, greener, more charming location, even if it requires a longer drive from Heraklion.

Stayed for a week in a great room over looking the pool. For most of the week we had breakfast in the wonderful La Parilla restaurant and then for dinner we ate buffet style in the Kimata. Great staff and a big shout out to June in Utopia, Mara in La Parilla and the drinks guy who worked the pool area.

Stella Island Crete is the most wonderful resort, we had an absolutely amazing time. The resort is out of this world and staff really do make everyone feel so welcome, they are so attentive and nothing is a bother, we were looked after so well by all the staff throughout the hotel a credit to the resort. The food was also amazing so much to offer with great ambience. We will definitely be returning to stay.

Superb attention to detail food staff cleanliness welcome I felt safe and nothing was too much trouble for anybody. I will return
