I’ll start by saying this isn’t an awful hotel and we did have a nice time here, but would we come back? Definitely not. I think this a very “Instagram vs reality” hotel. While it does look lovely, if you were to stay in one of the swim-up rooms or pool villas (which thankfully we didn’t) you have no privacy, they’re all in close proximity to eachother with most of them facing restaurants/other communal areas - the complete opposite to what you were to get if you did go to somewhere like the Maldives so people describing this hotel as “the Maldives of Greece” doesn’t feel fitting. Not to mention that the beach area outside the hotel is quite dirty, and not somewhere you can sit. The food in the à la cartes was great, the only one we were disappointed with was the Asian restaurant where it felt quite bland - however make sure you book on the first night for the rest of the trip as otherwise you won’t get in to any of the restaurants! The buffet was pretty average but we did like that they made up some plates rather than it all just being in big dishes to serve up. Room service was good but note that you do have to pay €8 every time you get it even if all inclusive. We unfortunately stayed when the weather wasn’t great and the evening entertainment got cancelled most nights of our trip with no alternative for something to do in the evening - while not necessarily the hotels fault I do think something should be offered for evening entertainment when weather is bad. Also had to pay €15 to rent rackets every time we wanted to play padel - a shame when you’re already spending so much to stay there and there’s not a lot else to do during the day especially when the weather is cloudy. Bar service everywhere was really good, so no faults there. Wine options for all inclusive are very limited. Overall, it was nice but don’t believe everything you see online, I don’t feel the price is justified for what you get here.

Returning to Stella Island after six years felt genuinely special. The resort has grown noticeably since our last stay, with more restaurants and spaces that make it feel even more vibrant and complete. Despite the expansion, the atmosphere remains as stunning as ever — beautifully designed, relaxing, and full of things to enjoy. The buffet continues to be one of Stella’s strongest points. It’s still very much about **quality over quantity**, with consistently great dishes and fresh options that make every meal enjoyable. The staff deserve a mention too: warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. They really add to the experience. The resort facilities are excellent, especially the gym, which is one of the best we’ve seen in a holiday setting. There’s truly a lot on offer here, whether you want to unwind or stay active. We stayed in both the **Luxury Swim‑Up** and **Premium Swim‑Up** rooms, and there is a noticeable difference. The Luxury Swim‑Up rooms are comfortable but feel a bit dated now and don’t quite deliver the “luxury” impression suggested by the name. In contrast, the **Premium Swim‑Up** rooms feel genuinely premium — modern, stylish, and more in line with what you’d expect from a high‑category hotel. Overall, Stella Island remains a stunning resort that continues to evolve in great ways. It was wonderful to return after six years, and the improvements make it feel even as enjoyable as last time

I think this is one of the most over rated hotels I’ve been. If you’re going for the instagram photos then you’ll love it, if you’re going for proper 5 star luxury you won’t. There’s no privacy to any of the rooms, the swim up rooms are just feet away from the bars, the all inclusive only extends to 2 rose wines (out of a huge wine list) and they were both awful, and the service is average. On the positive, the food was good in the evening, although the breakfast buffet was very average and not big enough for the amount of guests that were there. We used to go to the Ikos hotels in Spain and Greece, we stopped as they started cutting corners and down grading the quality of their all inclusive- it’s still miles above Stella Island though.
