TUI BLUE Elounda Breeze

We booked a four-night break in Crete through TUI, expecting a relaxing 4-star-plus holiday. Unfortunately, our experience was far from that. On arrival, we were allocated room 3123, which had an absolutely horrendous sewage smell. There was a sewage/wastewater facility directly behind the room, along with constant machinery noise and vibration that could be felt through the wall. We also discovered ants in the room. At around 2am, we contacted reception because we simply couldn’t stay there. We were told there were no alternative rooms available until the morning. We barely slept. Our TUI representative, Stacey, visited the room and saw the situation for herself. My wife became extremely distressed and was in tears while we tried to get moved. Eventually, we were given another room, which was considerably better, although still not perfect. To make matters worse, workmen were banging away above our original room the following morning. This was only a four-night holiday, and our first night and a large part of the following day were effectively lost. We complained to TUI on our return and were offered a £20 voucher. Quite honestly, we find this insulting given what we experienced. We paid for a relaxing 4-star-plus holiday, not a room next to a sewage facility with unbearable smells and constant machinery noise. We feel very let down by TUI and the experience has left a bitter taste. A holiday should be something to remember for the right reasons.

Book this accommodation if you value a stunning secluded hotel with a touch of luxury. Choose this accommodation if you’re a keen walker or enjoy getting your steps in. The walks to the beach, restaurants cafe bar and main pool will ensure you close your exercise rings, welcomed on an all inclusive holiday. You could instead be chauffeured to the restaurants by golf buggy if you do not fancy the short walk. Book end of season if you value less people and not too fussed on beach amenities. Choose this hotel if you want a one stop hop that has absolutely everything you need on site. There are lots of attractions for children including arcade, good slides, football pitch, entertainment. There was a very sweet little chapel onsite too! I liked the end of season vibe. The hotel was in full closing down mode but the customers were still the priority and very well provided for. The hotel staff, Tui reps and animation team gave 100% to every customer every day! Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel special at all opportunities. The energy of the staff was just as amazing at the end of the season as I should imagine it would have been at the start. I have never witnessed so much cleaning! Everything was spotless. The location is a quite out of the way. Because it was the end of season the weather was mixed. This didn’t bother us as we wouldn’t want to go sightseeing in unbearable heat. We were keen to go off site but it was costing between €24-€36 each round trip, to visit the local towns which were only 6 to 10 mins away by car. We were not keen to walk into Elounda as the hotel is on such a steep hill with no real pavements leading down to the towns. I think this hotel could benefit from a shuttle bus to Elounda but I understand that would not necessarily be appreciated by the local taxi drivers. The spa added a touch of luxury. The deals each day were worth every penny! There was also a spacious and clean gym. Our room was incredibly generous in size. Although it is the only 4+* I’ve stayed at that did not include toiletries. Having said that the cleanliness, space and comfort of the hotel far outweighed the lack of conditioner. There is a store on site which was very reasonably priced and stocked pretty much anything you might need. The views from our terrace were as beautiful as any I’ve seen. Thank you Tui Blu Elounda breeze! We would strongly recommend.

Absolutely lovely holiday we went same time last year it was more quiet this time but nice and relaxed. The one unfortunate thing was we didn’t get a photo of/with any of the entertainment team so we have nothing to look at to remember the team but apart from that absolutely amazing loved it.

⚠️ AVOID: 5-Star Price for a 2-Star Health & Safety Nightmare ⚠️ Do not book this resort. My anniversary trip was completely ruined by what TUI advertised as a premium 4/5-star flagship "TUI BLUE" resort. It is a neglected, structurally unsafe property. After a grueling airport transfer that vastly exceeded their promised 90-minute limit—driven by a coach driver actively using a handheld mobile phone on the highway—we arrived at a complete disaster. We were assigned Room 2024, which featured: • Severe Safety Hazards: A massive open hole left completely exposed in the bedroom ceiling, alongside loose, dangerous electrical wiring hanging down wrapped in tape. • Disgusting Hygiene: Dead insects, pest remains, dirt, and old hair left uncleaned along the skirting boards. Brown liquid stains splattered across the walls. • Unsanitary Environment: Large piles of black rubbish bin bags dumped directly outside guest doorways on the communal walkways. Torn, damaged furniture exposing raw foam. The TUI "Premium Service" is Non-Existent: The resort has collapsed into a complete "DIY / get-it-yourself" system. When we complained about these health violations, TUI forced us into an emergency transfer under extreme duress. Instead of a free like-for-like swap due to their failure, they forced us to pay an extra £1,061.00 (including an insulting £113 cancellation fee and £50 admin fee) just to escape to the Porto Elounda resort. Because TUI downgraded our board basis, we had to spend an additional 686€ out of pocket just to eat and drink. TUI's customer service has been shocking. They recently called to claim Elounda Breeze is "similar standard" to a luxury spa resort, and offered a pathetic £35 voucher as compensation for an absolute *** show that caused severe anxiety and ruined our anniversary. I am uploading the photographic proof of the holes in the ceilings, exposed wires, and filth so other holidaymakers can see the truth. We are now taking TUI to ABTA Arbitration and court. Save your money and your safety—avoid TUI BLUE Elounda Breeze. Rooms: Dirty, cold and twin beds slide around the room, no double beds. The mattresses were so hard we could not sleep and opur arms went numb just from lying down! No water pressure in the shower. Safety: Safety glass broken, electrical wiring hanging out of walls. Steps broken, trip hazards everywhere, rubbish left to sit in the sun. Food and drinks: Disgusting, unhealthy, dripping in fat, everything is fried or a cake! My omelette for breakfast was inedible and dripping in fat, three paper napkins dabbed of the worst of it but i could not eat it. My husband and I both had terrible stomachs during our stay at Elounda Breeze. Noteworthy details: Staff are rude, unhelpful and if they tell you that they cannot give you back your 'hotel tax (15 euros a night as the Greek government think it is a 5 star, no idea why) then they are legally bound to. If they refuse this is a criminal offence even if when they do give you back your money they scowl at you and say things in Greek under their breath at you!

Stayed here for 3 nights in October 2026. We had a nice time, our 2 year old particularly, but I wanted to leave an honest review to help out others who are thinking of staying here. As we visited in October, unfortunately the weather was not on our side so one of the 2 days we had it rained all day. Not the hotels fault of course but I did feel that more ‘rainy day’ activities could have been put on as it was difficult to fill the day. The benefit of going in October though was that the hotel was really quiet and so we never had to queue for anything, which others have complained about. Food: Disappointing unfortunately. As we were only there for 3 nights, we were not allowed to visit one of the 2 restaurants which I did feel was unfair (we have still paid to go), so I can’t comment on those. The food at the snack bar and buffet restaurant was fine, it was just very similar each day so I would have been really fed up with it if we were staying longer. Some of it seemed cheap, and not good quality. The best food was anything Greek, so I enjoyed a lot of Greek salad, gyros and tzatziki. We only went to breakfast once and that was the highlight, lots of choice and was all tasty. Drinks: No complaints. The wine and beer was often help yourself in the restaurant and snack bar. It was drinkable and pleasant. You could get cocktails at the main bar in reception which were in proper cocktail glasses so added a bit more of a luxury feel if you wanted a ‘proper’ drink Rooms: we had a family room which was really spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. My biggest gripe was that there was no bath, only a shower in a family room which is unusual and meant we were unable to properly wash our 2 year old. For children: The childcare team were absolutely lovely. We loved the baby lounge which is open all the time, our little one spent hours playing with the Wendy house, and pushing the baby dolls round in the pram. We also attended a stay and play and were really impressed with the amount of toys and activity stations there were for the children. The toddler and children’s discos were fun and overall our 2 year old had a fabulous time. Resort itself: Loved the look of it and the more traditional style amphitheatre. There were a few areas though where a lick of paint would have made a huge difference, such as the decking around the snack bar. The pool was unheated so a bit too cold for us in October but there were some brave older kids going down the slides, they seemed to be having a great time. The staff were also friendly and helpful. We went down to the beach once, as others have said, it is more like a cove but I actually thought that was better for children as they can’t swim too far out or anything. We didn’t see any jellyfish but we didn’t go in the water. The beach bar wasn’t open but there were only about 4 people using the beach so I don’t blame the resort for that. I could definitely have spent some time there if the weather was nicer. Overall, I liked the resort and enjoyed my time there, but would need to see an improvement in the food if I was to return.
