TUI BLUE Elounda Breeze

I stayed at the Elounda Breeze for 10 days and had a lovely time! It's a big area with multiple pools and lots of other stuff to do, like the waterslides, which were a lot of fun. The main restaurant is also beautifully situated up the hill, so you have a stunning view of the sea and islands. When we got to our room, a fruit and sweets platter had been prepared for us and everything was super clean and modern. The beds are also very comfy! The staff is welcoming and accommodating too, we felt very at home here. The food was tasty as well, as a vegetarian I always had a lot to choose from and the variety of desserts was a highlight for me! You can also get some nice drinks from the bar(s), or enjoy a good massage. Elounda is also a good starting point for exploring the island, and while I would recommend renting a car, you can totally walk to the village and look around there :)

The hotel in general has a very unique vibe since it‘s built like a small village and there is always something to do or some program around. The staff is super kind and welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable. And the view you get, especially from the main restaurant and pool is just incredible. We also really liked the food. Plus the bar has some really good drinks ;) Can definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing Crete holiday.

Arrived back on saturday morning, this is the second year on the run went to this hotel, i can’t fault the entertainment staff, my little girl fell in love with alex the team leader she was just the best, always made time, was bothered my daughter was following her around all the time she simply made our holiday special and we are gutted to be home, all them was great, caitlin’s voice was amazing in the shows. The food was fine plenty of choice, good drinks and cocktails, its a shame they are changing the entertainment side to local staff rather than TUI

Mixed bag 1078663052 A bit of a mixed bag, I’ve given 4/5 only because we got the holiday very cheap, I would’ve scored lower if I’d paid a lot. ROOM We got really lucky with the room, as a couple we got a massive room, think it was a family room. Very clean, great air con, bottle of wine, 2 televisions, massive balcony, sea view, lots of storage, although hardly any coat hangers. Comfy beds. POOL AREAS The first day we went to the main pool, was only there for about an hour when someone’s kid pooed in pool so it was closed off for a while so we went to the quiet pool and continued with the quiet pool for the rest of the holiday. We didn’t do any activities so I can’t comment on them, but the worst thing was the sun loungers were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever known, Really would’ve expected better loungers, we had better in a 2* in June. There was no trouble getting one though no matter what time we got there. FOOD The food could be improved here 100% just by serving it warmer. In the UK and also EU food in hotplates should be held at minimum 63c ( yes I know about the 2 hour rule) but it wasn’t here. I never once saw anyone checking it with a probe. They do have a microwave, but that’s not really a viable solution. The dishes were what you’d expect, lots of pork and made up formed meats. Very little quality meat, apart from chicken breast and pork leg. The food was nice enough, but ruined by the temperature it was served at, no one wants cold bolognaise, cold scrambled eggs, cold chips rice etc. There was plenty of nice salads, some crackers would be nice to go with the cheese. No fresh orange juice only concentrate. We went to both so called à la carte restaurants lol. The Taverna was lovely, but the green and grill was awful. There was no steak left, ( but hardly anyone in there) so I ordered the barbecue glazed pork tenderloin. I didn’t get a tenderloin, it was loin, with onion rings out the freezer, it was ok, just not what menu said, but it was hot. My husband had the sea bass, see photo of our main courses to see what might suit your appetite . The starter and salad were nothing to do with à la carte dining. Just for the record, à la carte is a type of menu not a type of food. DRINKS I personally was happy with the drinks, cocktails were nice and the red wine, beer not so much. STAFF No issues here, the staff clearing tables etc in the restaurant were hard working, cleaners were like ninjas in and out while we were at breakfast, never saw them. A shout out to Stacey the Tui rep in the lobby bar who was very helpful.We were a bit miffed that we couldn’t keep our room, our pick up was 9.35pm and we had to vacate at 11am, they said they were fully booked and no other rooms available, yet the place didn’t look full. If you do get to keep your room it’s €70 to 6pm or €100 for as long as you need. We had to make do with 1/2 hour in the courtesy room. You only get 1/2 hour whether there 2 of you or 6 lol. SUMMARY I personally am not a fan of big AI places, but because of the price we paid ( same as self catering in many places) we did get value for money and enjoyed our holiday. We went out in Elounda a couple of times which was lovely and visited Spinalonga where we had been 25 years ago and was nice to see they are restoring it. This review is obviously based on our personal experience and I hope the management see this review as positive suggestions where improvements can be made.

We have just returned this morning from a week at Elounda Breeze, and we are so sad to be back home! My partner and I usually go to Cyprus each year, but we opted for a last-minute holiday to Crete for a change. We were initially a little apprehensive as we didn’t know what to expect, and this was also our first time staying at a TUI BLUE hotel. All of the staff here are so warm and welcoming, and it is clear that they all work really hard to provide positive guest experiences. A special shout-out goes to the two main staff members at Thea’s Coffee Shop/Main Pool Bar, Mario and John Boy (we weren’t sure if these were nicknames, so apologies if we have got this wrong!). They were so friendly and a real credit to the hotel, and their drinks were our favourites. To be honest, the drinks all round were brilliant, wherever we went in the hotel. We were really impressed by the quality and range of drinks on offer, especially the fact that a strawberry daiquiri and Aperol Spritz are included in the all-inclusive. We were also impressed by the range of activities that TUI BLUE offers each day. We don’t usually like to feel pressured to get involved in activities on holiday, but we actually found ourselves joining in with quite a few, which isn’t usually like us! My partner enjoyed activities such as waterpolo and Mölkky, while I loved the daily water aerobics classes. I can’t remember the names of the two girls who ran the water aerobics during our week, but they were fantastic and I really enjoyed their sessions. We also went to Caitlin and Amy’s sangria class and had the best sangria ever! Those girls are so lovely, and they were always going above and beyond whenever we saw them around the hotel. This was also clear on the evening when the entertainment had to be held inside due to the weather. The staff extended the entertainment later into the night to keep guests entertained with some cabaret, which was a lovely touch. We were given a family room overlooking the amphitheatre, and I had read on some other reviews that people hadn’t enjoyed having these rooms. For us, as a young couple, it was actually a perfect location. The room was a great size, very clean, and we couldn’t believe the view from our balcony when we arrived. We felt really lucky with the room we were given. The reason I have rated the hotel 4 stars rather than 5 is that, at times, the food did let the hotel down. I had read this in previous reviews before arriving, but we decided to keep an open mind and see for ourselves. We really enjoyed the Greek and Asian nights as well as the à la carte restaurant. However, I do agree with some of the other reviews that the food can be a little repetitive, and on occasions it was cold or there wasn’t a huge amount of choice. The range and quality of drinks here is amazing and better than a lot of other all-inclusive hotels we have stayed at, so it’s a shame that the food doesn’t always match this. It wasn’t a huge deal for us, as this was a last-minute trip and we were really happy with the price we paid. However, I do think it is worth mentioning, as I don’t think I could have eaten the same food for two weeks. Overall, we had a really relaxing and memorable time at Elounda Breeze. All of the staff work incredibly hard and were so welcoming throughout our stay.
