Nice enough hotel, friendly staff who respond well to requests and will help you with any queries. As others have mentioned, the rooms are a bit dated (which i didn't mind) but the cleanliness in the rooms and corridors weren't great unfortunately! Pros: -Helpful, friendly staff. -Food was pretty good! Lots of vegetarian food on offer. -Local shop opposite and Spa down the road -nice around the pool, lovely sea views -can walk down to the beach and a few shops, its uphill on the way back though! -good kids disco (my child is 4 so appreciated it!) Cons -Cleanliness not great. (had to retrieve toys from under the bed and it was awful under there!) -Daily room cleaning mainly refers to emptying bathroom bin -Drinks weren't consistent enough (e.g. some staff would just give aperol and soda water for Aperol Spritz) -The room we started in was poor, air con didn't work and water didn't drain in bath. However, could move rooms the next day! -Don't provide towels for the pool (already aware from other reviews so we knew to take our own). -some areas pretty run down. E.g. Kids room was full of broken toys / shower room on check-out day had broken doors -did end up getting taxis everywhere which does add up over a week Visit Hersonissos old town/ piskopiano and koutouloufari. Land train was a nice way to see things and good for 'hop on/hop off' Port of Hersonissos has lots of building works there. You can still get some nice sea views but not as pretty as I hoped!

Absolutely stunning hotel, pool and views. The food was exceptional in the restaurant 😋. The female restaurant manager went over and above , especially for getting my decaf coffee and HP sauce!! Giannis at the pool bar was funny as well as being an experienced drink maker. Amazing sunsets too xxx

Great hotel, friendly, approachable staff who couldn't do enough for you. Cleanliness throughout the hotel & grounds was excellent. The food was amazing with plenty of choice for all tastes. The pool was a good size & very clean with a small area for young children. A nice room with plenty of wardrobe space. All round excellent value for money hotel. I would totally recommend for couples & families with young children. Thank you Chrissi Amoudia!

Thank you Chrissi Amoudia for a wonderful week! An absolute bargain for the price we paid and highly recommended. We arrived very late on our first night and were surprised to find the restaurant open with a good selection of food and drink available. The last hotel we stayed at provided a dried up sandwich in a brown paper bag when we arrived. The food was of a very good standard at every mealtime and snacks were provided in between times. Especially enjoyed the Greek, Mexican and Italian themed food nights. We thought the drinks were nice too and although not as strong as the branded makes they were still enjoyable and we worked our way through the 13 different cocktails on offer through the week. All the staff were friendly and helpful and hardworking and our room was kept spotless. In fact we thought the whole place was kept incredibly clean and surprised to see other reviews claiming otherwise. I personally enjoyed watching the restaurant staff at mealtimes whizzing around so efficiently and professionally! Bar staff were fun and chatty and they even helped me pick up a bit of Greek too! Our room was good and the beds comfy and as it was in the shade most of the day we didn't need the air con even though it was hot during our stay. The first morning we noticed an issue with the water pressure being too low which we reported on our way out on a short trip and by the time we returned it had been sorted. The pool was a good size and well maintained although finding a sunbed was tricky as thoughtless people left towels on them most of the time. No different to most hotels unfortunately but towels need to be removed when people are obviously not using them. Location was pretty good although public transport was limited so a hire car/bike would be preferable. It was about a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach which didn't have the best quality sand but was still a pleasant place to be. Entertainment was better than most hotels we've stayed at before with a good variety of acts and the obligatory bingo and quiz nights! Overall it was one of the best holidays we've had and we wouldn't hesitate to return. A lovely hotel run by really nice people :-)

Our second visit to Chrissi Amoudia Hotel, and we've already booked our third for next year! This truly is our little piece of paradise in Crete. Everything is absolutely faultless. It is the perfect retreat, and we honestly cannot find a single thing to fault. The accommodation is superb, the beautiful gardens are outstanding, filled with flowers of every variety, and the location is simply perfect. During our stay we visited three beautiful traditional villages, all just a five-minute taxi ride away, making it the ideal base for exploring this wonderful part of Crete. What makes this hotel so special, though, is the incredible people. Every single member of staff is remarkable and makes you feel like part of the family. A special thank you to all the wonderful restaurant staff, especially the lovely Katerina. Thank you to the friendly porters, Yiannis and the ever-smiling Zacharias, the fantastic reception team, the hardworking housekeeping staff, lovely Alexandra, the dedicated gardeners, and Giannis at the bar, who somehow remembers everyone's favourite drinks and always serves them with the warmest smile. The entertainment team work so hard to make every day enjoyable, and a huge thank you to the lovely Michael and his family, who run the shop and always make us feel so welcome. And, of course, a very special mention to all of the beautiful cats, who kindly allow us to use their hotel for our holidays! ❤️ Chrissi Amoudia Hotel is truly a hidden diamond in Crete.
